Okay, so obviously The Ox was incredible as always!!! But can we please give praise to the band for being able to keep up? That is some incredibly difficult material to play and sing. Well done!
Hot band for sure, very talented, though I feel like the drummer is trying a little too much to out-Moon Keith Moon and it comes off too showy for my tastes, too many real technical fills substituting for that wild abandon of Moon's. I would have liked to seen that dialed back a few ticks
2:43 -- Children, watch, carefully, you'll see the usually-sedentary Ox actually take steps across the stage. This is very rare footage and scientists are still studying it, wondering what the Ox was up to here; has it located another food supply?; is it running from danger?; does it sense a mate nearby? We will never know.
I love how it looks like he only did it because he thought there was something wrong with the amp, and that, if it wasn't for that he would've stayed still
Haha, brilliant comment, I agree with Joao, I think he thought there was some issue with the amp. I have just watched the whole of this concert on someone else's channel, its amazing. This was the only time he walked so far away though, so it was one off unique sight

John Entwistle did it live on the bass guitar. His nickname of Thunderfinger is well deserved. He is simply the first bass guitar hero and the very first bass guitar god. He opened the way to other bass players to come like Rudy Sarzo, Billy Sheehan, Stuart Hamm, Jeff Berlin, Chris Squire of Yes (who died in 2015) and other legendary bassists like Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. John Entwistle is defitively and undoubtebly an icon and legend on the bass guitar. This is because of him that there is today several legendary bass players. R.I.P. John Entwistle.
From Quadrophenia's liner notes. Jimmy is talking about The Who: The bass player was a laugh. He never did anything. Nothing. He used to smile sometimes, but the smile would only last half a second and then it would switch off again. My friend Dave said he smiled a lot more at his sister, they were engaged I think. His bass sounded like a bleeding VC10.
WOW... Entwistle is using a stack of A.S.S. PA cabinets as his bass rig. And where the hell did Steve Luongo come from... the most Keith-like drummer I've ever heard! Great stuff!
Except Keith Moon made it look and sound effortless while every other drummer that tries to emulate the playing sweats their balls off and they look and sound like they're going to pass out half way through the song.
Holy smokes! Saw the Who only twice. Was it could have been 100. Ox and the drummer just killing it. Cant believe we would cover this song with me on bass in the 70s. I played an EB3 was a big Jack Bruce fan.
