My partners grandparents died in WW2 fighting to defend their way of life. They were from Bradford - need I say more? Only a fool would risk their lives for this country. It''s been a bitter pill to swallow, but all my parents (I'm 60 - they were born 1928/29) were taken for fools. As were their parents before them.
That said, all of my family did well out of the boon years. But it was never what we thought. It was always a pyramid scheme. I think the world over the threat is internal - we shouldn't be fighting each other. Most people the world over just want a decent life for their family - something to work towards. Something that is theirs.

Whilst our soldiers are away fighting, what will all the new arrivals be doing to their wives and daughters? Will Sunak stick around or will he go to live in one of the other countries he holds a passport for? Australia is still the best country in the World, but better get here soon as they are teaching our kids to hate it as well. 63 yr old ex commisioned serviceman here. If I was young now, I would not join. This because of demographic replacement changing the country and what it stands for - the capital city is now around 30% native Britons! Plus descrimination against and contempt for native Britons, espicially the men, including in the forces. The patriotic, civic minded, social cohesion motivation for joining the colours, is all but gone. This thanks to near ubiquitous woke institutional capture and our fetid governing class. It's terribly sad.

As a veteran of 23 years I fully understand why the Armed Forces have recruiting difficulties. The government regardless of who are in power have failed service people by significantly reducing adequate resources and for their part service chiefs have gone completely woke.
Additionally, the government has proven to have utter contempt to veterans by treating them as 2nd class citizens. So much for the Forces Covenant. What an absolute disgrace.
Personally, I would like to see the war mongering seditious politicians and peers who currently occupy parliament to be on the front line first. Maybe then, these cowardly charlatans would perhaps make better decisions about the need for defending this country with properly equipped and paid personnel.

Over 5 million left the Ukraine when war began I think approx 210,000 are in the UK at present. I would be asking the govt why they've fled and haven't gone back to fight the Russians but UK subjects will be. The majority of young people want to live in peace. If I were to enlist, I'd be fighting wars in other countries...not to protect the life we have in this country. We grew up watching war in Iraq and Afghanistan, learning that by entering foreign lands only exacerbates the problem by creating martyrs and a new generation who hate the west even more. If it came to protecting our lives, we would fight. Protecting 'our' interests abroad, not a chance.

I cannot understand why GB News is so convinced we're going to war with Russia , if we end up in a conflict with Russia i'm pretty sure we wouldn't be alone .
