I love Einhander! It's not only my favorite 2D shooters ever. It's my favorite game of all time! I've never got bored while I played it, because it has its great graphics for the PS1 shooters, finely-tuned music, fascinating plot, fun weapons, and amazing gameplay. The difficulty of this game is fairly challenging as well, and it's one of the shooters that has checkpoints. Kenichiro Fukui did an incredible job on composing Einhander music.

Played this game growing up back when I was like 5-6 years old and this was the furthest I ever made it. I had completely forgotten though I loved it so much growing up, but recently watching bladerunner made me feel this intense nostalgia and I realized the futuristic sci fi city and billboard was reminding me of a game I played some 15 years ago. After a ton of searching I finally found it. Thank you so much for this playthrough!

That's some behavior I have never seen from the mid-boss. I usually try and use grenades against it. Also I never knew you could destroy the discs it drops on the ground. Cool.
The feels @ 7:25... God, the world needs to play this remade in HD.

Codephrasing. It's saying the main fleet from the Moon can't make it to Earth to assist Einhander with the fight.
Ohh. That makes sense.
4:15, one of the most intense segments in the game, has the most chill openings to a piece of music, ever.

And whoever the player is, just smoothly works their way through it like water in a stream. Mad skills.
Dodging a lot of enemy fire without spending extra lives. You could have a chance to unlock the Unknown Fighter Type 2 ship. Tough to survive all levels without even getting hit. Though, this is the most addictive 3rd-person shooter ever in PSX.
Thankfully, the weapons in this game are also kinda shields from bullet fire, so the player isn't that vulnerable of dying. Still, getting hit once in this game sends the player back to the checkpoint, and that makes this shmup really difficult.
Have you ever tried playing on hard difficulty, using your arm manipulator as a shield (indestructible), and survive without the need to attack on all levels except final? =)
No I haven't. I haven't tried playing this game without firing a shot before. Why?
I had played via emulator before. During attempt to unlock the ultimate ship (requires to play without using any continues), got stuck, I have to find a way for cover. AI ships throwing barrage of blue projectiles toward me..but to my surprise, the projectile ended up hitting on the arm (the one that holds any weapon) and it acted as a shield. It reminds back before since the last time I've played this game. You should tried that trick.

I've had this game for over three years but have only beaten it about four times. I remember getting my ass kicked in the 3rd and 4th stage and using up all but one continue there, then losing it before the 2:00 mark here.
the music distracted me many times as a child...is freaking awesome...also, that 2:00 mark...I know that feel bro

Never seen someone do so well with a Hedgehog,. I think it's the worst weapon of them all.
Hedgehog is not as bad as a weapon as you might say if you can use it really well. I think the worst weapons are the Snake and the Mosquito. Their ammo is really scarce.
Dawn111 Oh yeah, the Python is definitely bad. I'm surprised they made it so difficult to obtain, yet such an awkward and tough to use weapon.
I have developed a new respect for the Hedgehog recently though I typically prefer to play the game by picking the Astrae ship and carrying Flash and Juno as starters.
