I know this is about those two mics but I can’t help but notice that Schoeps mic with the Mk41 capsule you’re talking into loI that’s the one that caught my attention 😂
Listening with Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 80 ohm cans. Off the bat the Warm sounds a bit punchier in the midrange almost hitting that tin can effect a bit cloudier than the u87. The U87 has a tighter bottom end. Would love to hear you do a shoot out on the TG Chandler Mic with U67.
I really look forward to the R2 comparison. The Classic sounds good, until you hear the Neumann come in, especially with Ms. Sullivan. Another great comparison.
Gefell y Neumann tienen el mismo linaje. Sería una comparación interesante con certeza. Los Gefells son buenos micrófonos. Gefell and Neumann have the same lineage. It would be an interesting comparison for certain. Gefells are nice microphones.
U87 sounds better. Not sure it sounds five times better, but it' definitely sounds smoothr. Then again that's with regard to spoken word, if you were to compare it on dry vocals the difference might be more noticeable. Personally, at home I use the TLM 103 most of the time for VO. but when I'm voicing in a commercial studio I find they almost always use 87's

For the target market, the Warm Audio is more than good enough. Perceived 'Issues' can easily be fixed in post. Best bang for buck.
It’s on sale for $399 OG. Do you think It’s a good deal?
@ yes for a new one, it's good deal

Warm Audio WA-87 sounds boxy to me.
It has difficulty handling some dynamics as well.
Neumann sounds better. The Warm doesn't sound close enough to be considered a copy. But $2600 better? Only if you have money to burn.
