I actually think that the reason shiny pokemon are so rare is the idea of naturał selection, since they sparkle they are seen easier by predators and prey thus dying off
***** You just proved his point. Natural selection. Natural selection chose non-shiny pokemon due to their, well less attractive features.
would just make sense if shinies were the same as albinos. It's a rare thing that any animal can have since you're concidered an albino due to lack of pigment, which causes white hair and red eyes. this could effect pokemon different due to them also having abilities like breathing fire. Would explain why each shiny looks different since they have different abilities and typing.
or they're out of the norm they get cast out by their own kind thus get rejected by potential mate thus limiting their breedability
Shiny's are from genetic mutations. DONE ^^
Or maybe the shinies were born from genetic mutations. Like, maybe a clan of... Oddishs interbred so much their genes mutated and a shiny Oddish was born. Like an albino or something.
Also, have you noticed how Magikarp is red and shiny Gyarados is red? Maybe Magikarp was force evolved by the radio waves, but something went wrong and it kept it's color scheme... or something... what am I even talking about anymore...
yes, in gold/silver it happend on this way.... it was team Rocket who used radio waves, or something like.
I own none of the images shown in the video, they were all found on Google.
i think that shiny pokemon are just ones favorited by arceus or pokemon that were changed when yvelta took there life force
ProtoMario, if you read my comment, you should do a theory on the pink Butterfree that Ash's Butterfree set off to be with. That is the only pink Butterfree in existence, and it's not even Butterfree's shiny sprite. And this happened before Team Rocketset off those radio signals, so what could have possibly made this Butterfree become pink?
jokemaster4life Maybe it was a nicknamed gen 1 pokemon? There was one way to change the colour of gen 1 pokemon and that was to nickname them and use them in pokemon stadium for the N64. I'm not sure what colour varients there were for Butterfree, however, I read somewhere that you could get a pink Rattata this way, so that's a similar colour change :)
jokemaster4life
the butterfree is probrably from the pinkan islands where pokemon turn pink due to the fruit they eat so butterfree and it's new family are probrably now all pink with alot of pink caterpies and metapods
tepigaipomlover62900
This theory makes the most sense!
I have a little theory, what if in the Pokémon universe humans are actually Pokemon but changed over time to "evolve" in other words puberty more slowly than normal Pokemon. This could also explain how some people in the Pokéverse have special powers like psychics.
William Snow
And why trainers are always classified into categories.
There's a huge hole in your theory. The reason that the Gyrados is red is because of the radio waves from Team Rocket, but that's only part of the reason. Gyrados was forced to evolve from a magikarp. Because it was forced, it took the form, moves, and ferociousness of a Gyrados, but kept a Magikarp's red color. In other words, no pre-evolved form of Charizard was black, no pre-evolved form of Ninetails was a ghostly grey, and no pre-evolved Wailord was purple. Just a means for Game Freak to cash in on a cool easter egg for promotional value, (get your free shiny whatever at Game Stop today!) and for the fans to find and keep playing their product.
But that doesn't explain why shiny Gyarados is red even when evolving from a golden magikarp(the shiny)?
@@noahtackett6264 magikarp isn't shiny the non shiny magikarp is forced to evolved thus keeping its red color
@@tapgames3465 not that one, I mean a normal shiny (gold) magikarp evolves into a red gyarados regardless of that
Wrong. Official timeline states that the Kanto and Hoenn games take place at the same time. This means that not only do FrLg and RSE take place simultaneously, but so does RBGY. How can Team Rocket have affected Pokemon with radio waves they weren't using yet?
What's *more* likely is that shiny Pokemon are subject to whatever the Pokemon world's equivalent of albinism/leucism/melanism is. Because those colorations are, for whatever reason, less conducive to the Pokemon's survival than their normal colors, they are rare- a recessive gene, more or less... but that gene still exists.
There's another issue with your theory. Despite being the right color, and counted by the game as a shiny Pokemon, the Gyarados at the Lake of Rage is not shiny. It was stated that the radio waves forced the Magikarp to evolve, while it in the process kept its orange-red color. Shiny Magikarp are gold, not red, and a Pokemon can't just become shiny upon evolution. Most shiny Pokemon don't use the colors of whatever Pokemon they evolved from, either- Dragonair, shiny or not, are not green.
I always thought shinies were like albino animals irl, rare genetic mutations.
Timeline
Earliest:
Gen 1 Story: Red/Green/Blue/Yellow/FireRed/LeafGreen
Gen 3 Story: Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/
Spinoff Story: Coluseum
3 Years After Original Generation:
Gen 2 Story: Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver
Gen 4 Story: Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
3 Years After Original Generation But After Gen 2 & 4:
Gen 5 Story 1: Black/White
5 Years After Original Generation:
Gen 5 Story 2: Black 2/White 2
Spinoff Story: XD Gale of Darkness
After B2/W2 But, Not Specified How Long After:
Gen 6 Story: X/Y
This is the confirmed timeline meaning team rocket had nothing to do with the shinies outside of the Red Gyarados as FireRed,LeafGreen,Ruby,Sapphire, and Emerald are set before and have shinies present
I disagree shiny Pokémon are way more likely just natural mutations just like we see in real live fore example 2 black people can get a white kid du to lack of pigment this is a genetic defect and really rare but it happens this means some were in the genetics material of the kid there is a defectwe also see this wit all adder kinds of live on the planet fore ensample take albino rats snakes cats dogs and so on in the wild how ever these mutations often make a animal stand out more wits is way if there a predator hunting becomes more difficult and if there a prey animal day often are spot essayer this is way day often die very fast and don't give on there genetic mutations to the next generationthis is way evolution in real live takes so long fore ensample the dna of a grisly bear and a ijs bear are 99.99% the same in short its very likely a part of them midgrade to the polar aria and mutated white looking hair sins in the snow white hair are working day did prosper but wen a grisly bear gets born wit this mutation it severally limits it sins theirs no white background so it only a dis advance and there fore it wont reproduce and therefore the biggest part of grisly bear s population will stay brownps don't get me wrong I sure some shiny Pokémon were made to be shiny but most no most are just a spin at the weal of evolutiondid you by the way know if you let 2 shiny Pokémon of the same kind bread aka the same Pokémon your chains of getting a shiny Pokémon from their egg is way way hire
That maybe so but you can't completely disagree tho? It could happen either way
Again, I think you can go better in-depth if you was just to watch a pokemon episode where a 1st shiny appeared. I think they went over it on Ash's Noctowl but I'm not 100% certain. All I can say is it's all based on the genetics of the pokemon. The pokemon being born differently is most likely the main source and not from Team Rocket. Its possible the signal might have something to do with altering the genetics of the magikarp or maybe the Magikarp was already shiny but all I can say is unless there is proof that a normal pokemon can evolve shiny, there is no solid proof that the radio waves caused any significant change to a pokemon. Its possible the waves altered the genetics of the pokemon due to force evolution but there is no proof that a pokemon can evolve into a shiny, new form
There is the possibility of using unnatural methods to make a pokemon evolve into a shiny by altering its genetics, so I still consider this theory plausable...if only not for the fact that the anime stated that it was only the Magikarp the waves had a significance on it. Pre-evolving before its scales could turn blue meaning the waves only has a high chance of working on a magikarp
SupremeKai24 And I see what you mean, but what if the improper evolution and coloration was caused by the radio waves affecting deep down to a cellular level? Genetic mutation can be caused by prolonged and intense exposure to environmental factors such as radiation. The waves being transmitted from that rudimentary "radio tower" may not have all been radio waves. Imagine, a cheap set-up like that could have been built from parts of appliances that Team Rocket either legitimately bought or had stolen. If they used a microwave in part of the building of it, or for that extra "oomph" used a microwave transmitter, they could have been striking those poor Magikarp, and God-knows what or who else with enough radiation to impact their genetics, spawning off (at best) a whole new color palette for the species for when the genes in one matches up with another's for the recessive pattern to appear. Another result of this radiation would also be any Pokemon, plant, or animal life in the area could mutate creating new Pokemon sub-species as well as the possibility of causing another form of divergent evolution within the species which over time could result in some completely new species altogether.
The people in Mohagany Town, however, may want to consult with their doctors on if they should be screened for cancer as well as have Nurse Joy screen their Pokemon.
ItsJust Brian If the radio tower did use radiation or some other methods to alter genetics, then this theory could make a lot of sense. Another that you could have added was that Team Rocket was using a signal to cause a pokemon to prematurely evolve and THAT could also cause genetic mutation to happen as well. Since the pokemon is not evolving naturally, that is bound to cause some genetic issues.
SupremeKai24 I was trying to imply the secondary portion as having an impact.
ItsJust Brian It did.
Shiny pokemon are like the albinos we have in the real world
Theory debunked! How do you explain the basic pokemon? Also, pokemon from R/B/Y actually could be shiny, if you traded them to G/S/C they could show up shiny.
Red Blue and Yellow did not have shinies. If they went to Gold Silver and Crystal, they were traveling 2 years into the future.
ProtoMario okay, fr/lg.
sangajin100
Remakes are not Cannon, also the remakes are still 2 years ago.
Same here in pokemon firered and leafgreen it was before gold and silver (timeline refers to manga) so yup debunked
well team rocket did exist in RBY so...
I have my own theory: some pokemon are based on animals, right? Animals have a albino from, so shinies are actually albino pokemon! Its my own theory
i like that nice theory
***** hey the real gary cool and pokemon are real life things like a red pig and such
My theory is that shiny pokemon when they are born that the mother pokemon had a very rare disease causing shiny pokemon
I feel like it's more of a genetic mutation...
Fair enough. I see your point.
***** Not neccessarily, because not all genes are passed from parent to child. The mutated gene would just be extremely recessive.
Here's a question: What if the Red Gyarados was already shiny? The radio waves only made it evolve. Shinies are probably genetic mutations or something like that, because I doubt that Team Rocket could have actually caused a Pokemon the evolve AND become shiny at the same time. Also, isn't it weird that the red Gyarados was the ONLY Magikarp/Gyarados to become shiny? If the radio wave made shinies, wouldn't the other Magikarp or Gyarados have become shiny too? Sorry, I'm just not buying it.
I agree, I see shiny pokemon are like albino people, there is a slim chance that they can be born with a genetic mutation of skin pigment witch change them from there normal color to shiny.
Maybe its just a genetic error? Thats what I think anyway
***** Yup. Grass types being shiny red could result in being spotted by prey, so its very unlikely they would have an advantage.
***** Nah
this is by far the worst of your Pokémon Theories, at least that I've seen.
Team Rocket only made 1 shiny, and that was by forcing a Magikarp to evolve prematurely. other shinies are like that because of DNA. there's actual similar things in real life where, because of DNA, humans and animals end up with different skin/fur/hair colours than normal. albinos are probably the most well known case of this. for similar reasons, some Pokémon end up being shiny.
on top of that, it is proven IN THE GAMES that generation 2 takes place AFTER generation 1. if you played the games, you would know that. where other games appear on the timeline can only be speculated since it is never directly stated (B/W being before B2/W2 is the only other part guaranteed about the timeline)
you should really try checking your facts first
those are not his theories, he just makes videos of pokemon theories which are circulating the internet, some are good, some are bad while some are baseless
Pavan Patel most of the ones I have seen are his own theories. he seems to typically come up with theories to answer various questions people ask. those questions tend to go with various existing theories. odds are, while he looks up facts to help come up with a theory or prove one, he finds others. sometimes he agrees with them and talks about them, sometimes he doesn't and makes his own theory, sometimes he adds on to existing theories. majority I've seen are either his own or ones he's expanded on. I have only seen 1 that was good, and that was only based on the title, as in his theory itself he completely screwed up evidence and missed important evidence, ruining the entire theory. as for this one specifically, I'm pretty sure he said something around the lines of "I believe" or "I think", proving that this theory is one of the ones he came up with on his own, with more facts against it than for it (and the only one for it is actually taken incorrectly)
But Proto!
There WERE shiny on Gen 1, you just need to transfer em to a Gen 2 game to reveal that they´re shiny.
That wasn't intentional, though.
UltraDylan
I pretty much just wanted an excuse to say " But Proto! "
Well in one of the first episodes, Jessie and James do say "We seek only rare and valuable Pokemon." Think about it, their whole MO is to try to steal or capture Pokemon that can be sold at a high price or used as destructive weapons. If they concocted the secret to making Pokemon shinies, it would be a way for them to sell Shiny Pokemon to wealthy Trainers or Pokemon pet-owners. I mean, people pay a lot of money for designer dog breeds in the real world, kind of the same principle.
+Rachael Lefler The only problem with this theory is, they're never shown trying to make money by selling a shiny Pokemon. Maybe it backfired and all their lab-stored shinies escaped into the wild, making that impossible for them to actually profit off of, even if it was originally their intention.
Couple of major flaws in the theory
- Shiny pokemon actually did exist in gen 1, but the gameboy back then didn't have color, so you couldn't tell if they were shiny or not until you ported them
- If the theory is that forcing pokemon to evolve via the radio waves is what makes them shiny, then there would be no shiny versions of basic pokemon, but there are
- The chances of a pokemon being shiny are equal in all the games/regions. If we go by the radio waves decreasing in power over distance, then the shiny rates would be different in different regions unless Team Rocket set up their radio waves in every region, which they don't
So this theory is quite easily proven false. Shiny pokemon are widely regarded to simply be the pokemon version of albinos, a theory which makes a lot more sense.
sorry I didn't read your comment
You didn't each the video, he explained that it dissipated and spread
After spreading it affected the birth and evolution of some pokemon
But yes I thought they were albino all my life
Don't forget about shiny legendary Pokemon
Jason Hofmann
I addressed that actually, based on that theory the shiny spawn rates would vary depending on how far away the pokemon was from the original broadcast. But the shiny rate is identical everywhere. Since the signal would be stronger closer to the radio tower there should be variance unless every region is somehow the exact same distance away from the broadcast.
There's also the fact that the broadcast was shut down, and shininess isn't hereditary, so at this point in the pokemon universe all pokemon should be normal, the shiny trait having died out long ago. Radio waves don't have that long of a lifespan, so they couldn't be continuing to cause the mutations required.
im pretty sure shiny pokemon are supposed to work like real life animals for example 1 in 1000 raccoon are white
How come I got a shiny zubat before the radio waves happened
In slowpoke well
That's because that Theory is bull crap. Shiny Pokemon were also in Gen I (Red & Blue) but you couldnt see and recognize a shiny pokemon, unless you trade it to the gold silver crystal versions. There is also a glitch, getting a shiny ditto with pokemon red/blue and gold/silver.
well I like these vids so plz dont spoil the fun.
:(
LuckyJeroLP that is wrong
because shiny in gen2 was based on ivs and in gen 1 they didn't have that so when you transferred they were give ivs and thus it could be shiny because of this it was not shiny in gen 1
***** gen one didn't have shiny pokemon
Because this theory is stupid.
My theory is that the shiny pokemon have a discoloration disorder when they are born and that's why they are shiny because of a mistake in their genes in their DNA when they are born. ( don't know the actual name but its the disorder that causes people to have 2 different colored eyes)
Heterochromia iridium
I agree, it is just a mutation...
Plus, Gen 1 happened at the time of Gen 3. Gen 2 happened at the time of Gen 4. A Game Freak employee confirmed this.
I think what some people fail to realize is that ProtoMario creates these theory video for our enjoyment, and thus has to come up with his own ideas so that we have something to watch, as far fetched as some of these "theories" might be.
You could simply explain that Shiny Pokemon are just a very rare genetic mutation, such as albinos in real life, but that wouldn't make for a very interesting, or long, video.
Apart from that, I appreciate and enjoy the videos you create, ProtoMario :)
They give me something to enjoy, and think about, even if I don't always agree with your theories.
I've encountered and captured one shiny ever. It was a Zubat :3
I encountered a shiny Zubat during one of those double battle events with an NPC and they wouldn't let me catch it. I was sad.
Mine was a Gyarados in Gold (jk)
My only legit shiny (meaning all but the shiny dratini and gyarados) was Swablu in Ruby.
Mine was Machoke, and I loved him.
First shiny: Kyurem
Second/Third shinies: Audino and Audino
Fourth Shiny: Caterpie
Latest Shiny: Shellos
Daniel S Daniel, you wouldn't be able to get a shiny kyurem in pokemon black/white black/white 2. It's impossible to get shiny legendaries unless it's an event and there were no shiny kyurem events, so you must be hacking.
Counter arguments:
1. Hoenn and Kanto games take place at the same time in the timeline.
2. Team Rocket isn't even in Hoenn.
3. You can get shinies from breeding.
Disliked simply because you ASKED for a like. I will only like what I like.
That is some dumb logic.
As is actually ASKING for likes...You can't ASK people to like something when there is a high probability someone disagrees. I respected your opinion, though I disagree, and would have left it alone...Until you asked for the like.
DWatchRazgriz
It's actually just a reminder, Please like and Share my work, because on UA-cam Liking also shares the video. If you didn't like it, then dont share it.
ProtoMario -.-' Now I feel slightly stupid. But I can't take it back, so I'll just say sorry for the comment, and move on.
Lol he asked you not demanded I'm sorry that your so selfish to think that he's actually insulting you by asking for a like so that he can subs that gives money to buy food which is what humans live off ofhe didn't beg he asked just saying man.
Generations 1,3, and 6 all take place at the same time in their respective regions.
Generations 2 and 4 also take place at the same time, after the events of 1, 3, and 6.
Generation 5 takes place the furthest ahead in time, after the events of all previous generations.
We know this because of 1 thing- The remakes.
You fight the champion of the Protagonist of gen 1 in gen 2, after his adventure is over, meaning 2 definitely takes place after 1.
Generation 3 had the recreations of generation 1's games, meaning, as you can freely trade pokemon between them, they logically must take place at the same time.
The same logic can theoretically be applied to generation 6, as with the gen 3 remakes, and the ability to trade pokemon between X&Y, and Alpha and Omega, they must have to occur during the same time period.
And the logic follows with the introduction of heartgold and soulsilver in gen 4, that generations & 4 take place concurrently, after the events of 1, 3 and 6. There's also the appearance of Sabrina in gen 4 that indicates a connection to gen 2.
Generation 5's games take place furthest in the future due to the appearance of Cynthia. Cynthia, dethroned as champion of Sinnoh by Gen 4's protagonist, was free to travel the world to meet new people, untethered by the Champion's responsibilities. Using the appearance of another character, a certain speech impaired rocket grunt (Who had left that life behind, and went to unova and started a family, with a wife and son in the same house as him, we can estimate using his son's age that black and white take place approximately 6-10 years after the events of Gen 2, depending on how old his son is. )The final chronological games in the series are pokemon Black 2 & White 2, which take place 2 years after black and white, (Which take place approximately 5-9 years after gen 2, a stated above.)
thats not a shiny ho-oh, ho oh just glows..
***** ho-oh is multicoloured? source
***** also you can literally see the glow around him
also on bulbapedia: ''Ho-Oh's first appearance, in Pokémon - I Choose You! completely colored and outlined in gold''
Just Google what Ho-Oh looks like and you can clearly see the difference, please stop arguing when you're clearly the wrong one.
''Ho-Oh's first appearance, in Pokémon - I Choose You! completely colored and outlined in gold''
facts always win.
and still you can see the glow around him which you conveniently dismissed because you had no constructive argument against it.
TheIndieGamesNL I don't see your point
In the anime, the Red Gyarados is supposedly a Magikarp that kept its coloring because it is forced to evolve. the only problem with this is that shiny and non-shiny Pokémon always keep that respective status when they evolve. This means that the Red Gyarados would have evolved from a shiny Magikarp, which has a golden coloring, invalidating that entire theory since the Magikarp it evolved from couldn't have been red in the first place. This does raise the interesting point, though, that because if this principle of shiny evolution, the first shiny Pokémon would have to have been an unevolved Pokémon.
Can u do a video on articuno zapdos and moltres, because im wondering how many of them are there if red and blue both caught 149 pokemon
Michael fight!!!!!!!
Well somehow there is at least three mewtwos so far which i don't understand. The one that red caught, the one in the first movie, and the one in the latest movie which is actually totally different compared to the original. I think the pokemon creator needs to think about the story a little more if he continues the series
SKILLZPLUR 2 mewtwos, two. the first movie mewtwo is the one red catches (each universes counterparts) and the genesect movie mewtwo is the one you catch in pokemon X&Y.
sangajin100
LOL so are you saying that ash has some how went to a different dimension when he met mewtwo all three times?? Ash can't even win a pokemon league but can somehow cross dimensions... No that theory is way off.
maybe i didn't explain this very well, here it goes again.
The mewtwo from the first movie and mewtwo returns, is the first mewtwo, then, the mewtwo from the genesect movie is the second mewtwo.
The mewtwo from r/b/y and pokemon origins is the first mewtwo. the mewtwo you capture in the game pokemon x&y, is the second mewtwo. two different universes, both of those mewtwo, if you think about it, are counterparts. so, overall, in each universe, there are 2 known mewtwo.
'BUT PROTO' I highly doubt that the radio signal was strong enough/had enough "range" for that to happen
If I remember correctly, that signal only covered certain areas. So you could to a place like Olivine City and still listen to the radio. So I'm going to disagree with you and say team Rocket did not create shiny pokemon
what are you saying that math isn't fun? MATH IS COOL
Tifa Lockheart it is fun sometimes my fov subject
i love math it my best subject
right on
you love it until you start derivatives, antiderivatives(integrals), and vectors, then it is no longer fun or cool
Rokudo Mukuro uhm i have been past that it was fun...
Actually, Shiny pokemon make lots of sense biology wise, it's kinda similar to albinos, they're just a mutation, it's very easily explainable. They're actually a lot more common then they should be. But that also can make sense since pokemon don't really seem to hunt and kill eachother. and just because gen 1 doesn't have them, doesn't mean anything, because it was Greyscale.
...what about shiny legendary such as Arceus, who's been sleeping for ages since the creation of the Pokemon world. How did Team Rocket affect it? (Even Giratina, which inhabits a totally different dimension)
I think your focusing on the anime and official games, but there's both "mutations" (going on Darwin there) and the Pokemon Colosseum games... just look at SHADOW LUGIA!
You should do a theory kind of similar to this one and the multiple legendaries theory, well here it is: If there truly is only one of every legendary pokemon, how can they be shiny? or is there another legendary of the same species that was born shiny? I think it would be an interesting subject to touch upon :D
Hey ProtoMario, why doesn't ash in the anime fully evolve the pokemon he catches, if he did he would have a better chance in winning the pokemon league right????
yes this!!
pikachu didnt want to evolve, bulbasaur didnt want to evolve, never heard of the rest of his pokemon, but charmander evolved.
I've only run into two shinies (not Gyarados) since I started playing at the very beginning.
Not including chaining.
***** So have i but the two that i found were in Pokemon Fire red i found a shiny weedle in viridian forest and then i found a shiny ekans on the route near the diglett cave near vermillion. the weedle went to a beedrill and the beedrill is now level 100, but the ekans however was boxed because i didn't have a use for it (i started with charmander so i already had a grass type killer and i didn't need another)
stop making stupid jokes, just focus on the information. II wanted to like your video man, I really did, but it's unbearable
this is wrong. they say in the episode that gyarados was red because the evolution process was forced it didnt have time to grow the scales blue so they just kept being red. not just because it was forced.
Or, you know, it could just be a DNA defect changing it's colors and that every species of Pokémon has it's own.
I always considered shiny Pokemon to be the Pokemon world equivalent to melanistic or albino animals. It makes more sense to consider it a genetic disorder considering shinnies can be bred.
I think it's just a natural thing where some pokemon are just born a different color than others is all and it has nothing to do with team rocket because that's pretty stupid if that's true
lol in firered I caught a shiny weedle xD
THANK YOU TEAM ROCKET FOR SHINIES I WILL JOIN YOU
Explain why I got a shiny zubat before the goldenrod city radio take over
The message team rocket sent at radio tower does not make them shiny , they only tell Giovanni the group exist and the signal only
Make them evolve
Team rocket is from johto and kanto. Are you saying that they went all the way to unova to change the coulor of a patrat's eyes?
But proto! What about the pokemon like, idk piplup, which hasn't evolved, how is THAT poss?
Humans are Pokemon and their type is normal/physic and the shiny human is black people, like Brock.
a shiny is sopposed to repreasent an albimo animal
gamefreak: what do people like the most.... SHINY OBJECTS!!!
-.- you are all proof
Lol
a bagle I only liked because of your name
Do a video on how Ho-Oh is the only legendary mascot not made in the generation of the game it represents!!!
I caught a yellow golbat in Pokemon yellow special edition so how does this explain any thing
Dont be so aggressive against my fans or I will have to Block you because this is too much.
It is one thing to disagree with someone and another to take it out like this.
I have a theorie!
Shiny Pokémon are the original pokémon, but something happened, a bit like the dinosaurs and they became instinct, but sometimes when pokémon breed theres a shiny because well, their ancenstors were shiny so some inherited that trait!
Thats why their rare
That's a hypothesis.
???
+Jeanne-eve skawski It's not backed up well enough to be a theory, thus a hypothesis
Oh, ok
wate if there is only one legendary pokemon like thers only one genosect how did i end up with one shiney and one not
lol shinies are a genetic mutation. If you think about it it makes perfect sense
my first shiny was a trapinch, which evolved into flygon :3
Shiny Pokémon are like albinos in real life. They are rare abnormalities.
I'd rather say shinies are just like alphas in our world. DNA misfunction causing them to look differently.
Just wait for the Betas! They will show you right :D
Shinys are pokemon but with a different gene that chabges it color AKA a natural mutation (like pepper moths)
Shiny is just a mutation in thier dna. Think like Albino.
Team Rocket didnt make Shinies, instead they forced a genetic trait to come surface by prematurely forcing a magickarp to evolve. This is why shiny pokemon are very rare throughout all pokemon species to exist in the wild.
Hmmm...but i reckon there is the opposite of albino right? I think its called melanism i think
drifttech234 Yes, but the concept is virtually the same for the reason its caused. It could well be another kind, but its probably so much rarer that its not even seen. But more or less. Its more or less the same concept with pokemon.
Darwin's theory has many flaws, and on top of that being shiny does not add to survival.
Besides being able to catch shinies in FireRed which takes place before Generation 2, there is ANOTHER hole in yet another of your terribly thought out theories.
This one being that I encountered a shiny before I even got to Azalea Town. So if Team Rocket's radio waves created shiny Pokemon, how did I get one before they "created" them?
Do you even research, bro?
Can't you get a shiny pokemon before the radio waves tho?
My theory is in Gen2 after TR realeased the radiowave it caused some sort of new cell to appear in every pokemons blood stream. After that since the cell was so little it didn't cause much harm. But some pokemon offsprings could appear in differnt colors resulting of the genetic mutation from birth because of the cell. Again: Sinec the cell was small it was really rare to breed a shiny and that's why evry pokemon has a shiny and if your wondering why there are like Gen4,5,6 ETC have shinys even if there are new pokemom well maybe since dittos also got the cell and then when the dittos breeded with the newer pokemon that made the cell spread through breeding and that is the ORIGINS OF SHINYS.
Shiny Pokemon are genetic mutations.
The Red Gyarados was just a shiny Magikarp that Team Rocket forced to evolve.
Ho-oh in the first episode wasn't a shiny Ho-oh. Really, it wasn't even a Ho-oh at the time. It was an unknown Pokemon that Ash saw in the sky. Also, the whole "shiny Pokemon" thing wasn't even a thing at that time. Even if that was supposed to be a shiny Pokemon, you theory instantly falls though. Team Rocket, at that point never took over the radio tower, and they never broadcasted these radio waves, forcing Pokemon to evolve, as the events in Gold/Silver/Crystal take place three years after the events of Red/Blue/Yellow.. Not to mention the fact that the events in the games are not connected to the events in the anime, as those are two different versions of the Pokemon world. Using that little bit of information, and your poorly crafted theory, shiny Pokemon wouldn't be in existence in the anime world of Pokemon. But they are, so there's another hit to your theory.
If you want to make more accurate and believable Pokemon theories, I strongly suggest you spend more time gathering solid evidence, and make your videos more than seven minutes long, so you can have more time to explain the facts. Also, watch some Game Theory episodes here on UA-cam. They're great examples of good theory videos, and possibly a nice way to learn how to more properly construct a theory video.
Hey Proto what about Mewtwo's clones.? They could have breeded with other Pokemon to create the shiny Pokemon. Mewtwo did release all of his clones as far as I know so it could be a possibility. But only certain Pokemon were cloned so then again it doesn't explain the other regions. It could be a camouflage skin colour changing deal or it could be considered just a difference in DNA passed down though the generations. Hey comment section while the albino theory may be possible we need to remember that albino usually means white. Not all shiny Pokemon are white. And no I am not being racist people! Bye
I'm sorry if this is really annoying and seems nitpicky, but if it has very little evidence, it's a hypothesis not a theory ;-; (I'm not saying you need to stop calling them theory's, do what you want. And I'm also not trying to be annoying I'm really sorry if it is and if you want you can delete it, I'm just pointing it out. Please don't be mad, annoyed, or upset, I'm sorry if you are though ;-;)
you should do a video on who N is in pokemon black and white
This video was probably made before the timeline was provided showing gen 1 and 3 happen at the same time. Both have shiny Pokemon. However, it could be said that Team Rocket saw the potential for cashing in on shiny Pokemon but due to the rarity of getting one, they set out to force the Pokemon to be shiny. That is why they developed the radio waves. It could also be how encounter rates changed too. Team Rocket or someone else could have also created the shiny charm which attracts the shiny Pokemon that are shiny, which explains why there is a higher chance of finding one.
My theory: If we go by the theory that arceus created the universe and then created mews (yes mewS because there r not only pokemon on earth) to have a DNA that can "create" other pokemon, what if Arceus didnt only create the "our" universe with "our" mews but also other dimensions with other universes and other mews and one of the other mews came in our universe and "created" some pokemon too, the new created pokemon had other colors because they werent made by a mew from our dimension. (and the reason why shinys are so rare is because theres 1 Mew that created shinys but like 1000000000000000 that created regular colored pokemon)
Actually, the anime reveals that th red Gyarados is not actually shiny. Since it was a forced evolution, something unnatural happened, and the evolved Gyarados retained its Magikarp's stage's original color.
I caught a shiny ZIGZAGOON the other day! YAY!
I believe that it's important to note that Gen 2 did NOT, as you stated, correspond with Gen 3. Gens 1/3 occurred during the same approximate time frame, as did Gens 2/4. Nevertheless, this is quite an interesting theory!
This theory, even though people have pointed out a few flaws, would also explain why shinies are becoming less rare as the games come out. Due to natural selection, more and more shinies are being born into the wild when there was very few to begin with. Since Pokemon enjoys itself some evolution, this would make even more sense. A genetic mutation and the process of elimination is what causes a species to evolve.
Whats your opinion on the theory that the fire type starters are based on the Chinese zodiac?
charmander line =dragon
cyndaquil=rat
torchic=rooster
chimchar =monkey
tepig= pig
fennekin= dog
But Protooooo! There are shinies in Fire Red and Leaf Green. My brother even caught a blue psyduck in front of Mewtwo in Fire Red. Also, Gen III happens b4 Gen II.
But you can catch shiny pokemon in the wild in Silver/Gold/Crystal before the Radio Tower Heist, and then WHY is there a shiny Genesect in the anime movie? Team Plasma created Genesect.
I caught a shiny drowsee right before I entered goldenrod city for my very first time
That theory was pretty weak.
I think the legendarys and mythical pokemon for exemple Mewtwo and Mew can be shiny because they can change their own DNA so they can change their own color by them self. But i think your theory is right for the other shiny pokemon.
Red Gyrados is the same color as Magikarp, what's the explanation for the rest?
Red ones are natural, but they evolved into fails with red color which gives them away, so the shiny blue ones survived with the water camo xD
Well, if the signal was embedded on a carrier wave, it could travel a larger distance before eventually weakening to the point of no effect. Good Point! :)
Personally I think it's the same condition that makes a white tiger, only more rare since I read that 1/500 is a white tiger. I forget what it's called, but it's not albino.
an shiny pokemon is an artificial form or color of the pokemon they only change the color of the body i dont think it was created by team rocket because in the anime doesnt had told that shiny pokemon was created with an original pokemon and change this body color with DNA or any machine
Ready for ridiculous? So, I was trying to fish for a Feebas and ... I caught a shiny magikarp while never getting a feebas by fishing...
my first shiny was a zangoose in pokemon white :)
i debunk this theory because gold and silver took place around the same time as Diamond and Pearl while Red and Blue occured around the same time as Ruby and Sapphire
I always thought shiny Pokemon were like albino pokemon and I do like your theory quite a bit I fell like my theory makes more since for the other regions especially since you can find a shiny before the lake of rage or the radio tower
The simplest answer I think is that it is a random mutation. I don't think it is a recessive trait, because that would cause it to be far more common than it is. A mutation would not necessarily be passed on to offspring.
Shiny pokemon didnt start in Gen 2 reason why because i remember one day playing Pokemon Firered and i saw a green Mankey
BTW i never played Pokemon Gold or sliver
and Pokemon black & white
Fire Red and Leaf Green are gen 3 remakes of the gen 1 games Red, Green, and Blue (I'm not going to count Yellow since that one is very different). By then, shiny Pokémon were well-implemented into the franchise.
I actually believe Shinies are a genetic mutation that naturally and randomly occurs upon birth, like a random genetic mutation that doesn't ALWAYS need radiation
Well, there is another explanation, you know how sometimes animals can get these rare new features but sometimes that causes the death of them in the wild since it could be easier to spot with that feature and that also explains why shinies are so rare
Except that you could find a shiny 2 minutes into the game, before the radio tower takeover even happened lol. So many holes in this theory
I almost caught a shiny Azurill but I accidentally knocked it out trying to lower it's HP in Pokemon white 2 without knocking it out.

FUUUUUU
I believe they are Albino pokemon thats it.But as for them not being in gen 1, there was no colour difference so maybe there were shinies
