Have seen many are arguing about :"own money own wish"theory. Yes we should agree but not for all purpose. Whatever we do publicly;that has an impact on the public. This type of new practices teaches the new generation about dreaming this way. Nowadays children have started expecting more and more from childhood only and leading to depression;insecurity and low self esteem among middle class people. So if we think we have some responsibility towards the society then we have to think from these point of views. Otherwise everyone has right to "just live for the self and don't think about contribution to the humanity". It's our choice. We change;the world changes.
I salute you, you couldn't have said it better than this. Very true. Wanting to celebrate grandly may be each individual's wish but then in the long run was it worth for real.

Beauty of the traditional purpose of this ceremony has spoiled by over artificial touch. Otherwise. It's good to see a father celebrating his daughters' life events. We must not mix up living style with tradition.
This ceremony is done among Assamese community people also. We call it Tuloni Biya. But, we Assamese Brahmins inform about the girl's menarche ( first period) only to our family members and close freinds. So, we do the rituals that are needed to do. Sometimes the girl may need to do fasting. But, the non Brahmins they throw a party to all the people in their village and they celebrate it nicely.
Same in Tamil Nadu too Brahmins ones is extremely low key. Non Brahmins have a function but SL Tamils abroad in Canada and UK/ Europe do it do grandly like a wedding! 99% of these on you tube are Sri Lankan Tamil’s puberty ceremony

@@kusumathammini4814 yes- plz soak yourself in utter materialistic pursuits and happiness and show your kids the same path. As long as people don’t know the difference between personal enjoyment and wastage. Let people who have money spend it this way, think of the amount of employment created, for this function 100's of people would have worked in the background... People who have money and just give donations is not a good idea as that money may be used for some wrong purpose,... @@trueindian3073 think from a higher / larger view point. I didn’t talk about donations here. Your idea of employment for this event is very shallow. No need for others to know you are helping someone. Or we can help poor girls known to you get married….. such a spending and living will not only get you good wishes but aloe your children will know how to live life in the right way. When you Uplift someone’s life they will keep blessing you for the rest of their life. Whereas the people who worked for that event will only look at your rich way living and feel more depressed that they can’t have a life like you do creating so much anxiety.
