Remi, I just value your insights in the management of "things". Years ago there was excellent council that children needed no more toys than double their age - so a two year old only needs 4 toy options on any given day. I was great at rotating toys - and you are correct - it is much more healthy for their brain development. You are an encouragement to so many!

Dear Remi, I love your videos, they give me hope and actually gave me the push I needed to ask for an appointment for an ADHD test for adults. I stalled myself for months with that decision but watching your videos and how you tackle the same problems I have, helped me to finally go for it. Thank you :)
I'm loving to watch (Remi Clog, obviously) a newish channel called 'Peeling away the clutter' - the home owner Mira is sorting her home out one small area at a time, and she does lovely voice overs talking through her challenges and thought processes as she deals with her mental health and the reasons she finds it hard to let go of things and how she's managed to accumulate so much over the years. She's probably part of the neurodivergent tribe but I don't think I've heard her mention it. She's the sweetest and so strong! We're all rooting for her.
I love that channel too. Peeling Away the Clutter. She is working so hard and has accomplishing so much.

I started two days ago. I don’t hoarde things, I keep it simple. Kitchen, porch, decluttered and cleaned. Today is the bathroom. Over a box to throw or give away. Keep in mind, if I don’t use it, it’s gone, if I get something new, something else goes. I know my closet is at a minimum so keeping that in mind, my bedroom is just walls. Seeing you clean is such a lesson for me. I’ve always gotten overwhelmed with the “what to keep/what to toss” thingy. Why are inanimate objects so emotionally triggering? Now, I have a traumatic brain injury and having to figure out how to counteract the overwhelming pain is even more traumatic and triggers my TBI symptoms. But your tips and tricks help a lot. Thank you, Remi, for doing this. ❤

It's crazy to me how alike our brains seem, even an ocean away. I've often wondered what my life would be like if I could better harness my brain's capabilities, so the bit about needing to work with the brain we've got really resonated. Thanks for sharing your lovely work! Not just a deep clean of the home, but of the soul.
I got my kids their own laundry bins…one for whites..ones for dark..then I take and wash..Perfect and saves so much of my time sorting laundry
I love decluttering - after a few weeks you can’t remember what you got rid of but you realise keeping a tidier home is much easier 👍

many years ago , when my 3 children were little I also ran a family daycare in my home. There were lots of toys available for them , but sometimes it became too many. When you mentioned rotating toys it reminded me that I used a system we called Sending toys on vacation. I used a box decorated with a beach look. When it seemed the children had lost interest in their current toys I would bring out the box. First I would have them pull out the toys from the box. Next they easily gave up their "old" toys for vacation because they were anxious to play with their returned toys. It was fun and gave them a sense of control over which toys they had. keep up the good work. you are a very thoughtful mother.

Hey I’ve been saving your videos to listen to when we could come back home.
There was a fire in one of the apartments in my building (the lady did succumb to her injuries sadly) and we haven’t been able to come home for 2 weeks. I got the call today that we could finally come home and we have all been cleaning our little homes and trying to stay warm. I discovered that the soot traveled through the vents and everything has a thin layer on everything, even stuff in drawers and cabinets. I’m on my second load of dishes and I’m gathering up every article of clothing that got dirty. It’s feeling more overwhelming than when I moved in.

I'm feeling very frustrated with my living situation today. Thank you for the reminder that I am trying my best. My best is nowhere near enough to keep on top of everything, but it is still a solid effort. I need the reminder to be gentle to myself sometimes. I'm glad there are people brave enough to put themselves and their messes online to help remind us all that so many of us are in this same boat together and we can all encourage each other to keep on trying.
Also, thanks to your motivation, I just vacuumed half of my floor and a few random dusty things. Thanks! It's not a full vacuum, but it means there is less to do the next time I manage to pick up the task again. Every little bit helps!

I just love your videos.. you give me so much motivation even though im 73 and health issues prevent me from doing too much, I remember when I was your age and deep cleaning all the time it was so satisfying.. I had the blinds like yours and they are very tedious to clean so I took them down and either put them in the bathtub to soak and took the wash rag over them or i would hang them on the outside clothesline to wash and dry.. they got sooooo clean but I live now in an elderly complex with no blinds just shades on 2 big slider windows... l miss all that cleaning so when I watch you it brings me back.. thanks for sharing.. take care..jay

@@dgall051 Yes I do that. Then I hold them up, or have somebody else hold them up, and wash them with a soapy cloth, rinse with the hand held shower head.

Thank you for showing this Remi; I am not on Tiktok so I would have missed it otherwise! Quick laundry suggestion: give each person their own laundry basket, in their own room, instead of a large shared hamper in the hallway. That way you can do one load for one person at a time, and return that clean load to their room. Then a different person's load on a different day, and return it clean to their room. That would keep the scary death pile from ever accumulating in the first place. 😂

The last couple years in our family we have adopted the Japanese tradition of o-souji. Translates to "Great Big Clean" or something like that. Basically, the house should be clean by New Years Day! I start the day after Christmas and do exactly what you're doing here, with the last stuff being the Christmas things on New Years Eve. On New Years Day the house feels brand new just like the new year. I love this very practical tradition!

Just love your attitude about life and about cleaning! I’m a cleaner as well. If it’s ok couple of tips…
I put my blinds in my tub. Fast and easy. I tie a couple loops of ribbon, rope, around shower rod. Dip blind in scrub rinse and hang up in loops give it a quick wipe and back in the window it goes. Also, in my cleaning arsenal I keep an old toothbrush and putty scraper.

I like watching the cleaning videos and I'm also into watching mowing videos lol. I get overwhelmed very easily with large messes so when I have the energy I take advantage for as long as I can because I never know when I'm going to be out of commission for days at a time
