This song was actually released as recording the same month of freddies death in November. 18 days before his death I believe. I see comments criticising brians singing or shaky behaviour though a lot was going on and messing with his head. I can’t blame him.
Freddie was really "angry" on Brian that the song was not released in the summer 1991. He was told that Brian does not want to release the song because of Freddie's health, then as far I remember of what I read around 30 yrs ago, Freddie called him around October to ask him "what he is waiting for? Just release it ASAP!". I guess it's an unfortunate coincidence that the song came out 2 days after Freddie's death because obviously you can't get a single out in a day or two after a decision to do it. And Freddie was relatively well in September and October. But during his stay in Montreux at the beginning of November 1991, he decided to stop the medications himself, and his condition worsened literally within days. It must have been excruciating, too, the pain and the realization that he wasn't the Freddie people wanted to see, the hiding of AIDS, the yellow press chasing him, etc. But he was adamant about Brian releasing the song and he liked it a lot.
:-( this song soooo really needs to be in the Made In heaven CD..... this performance in october 1991, November 1991 Freddie Died.. and everything they did was driven by his last wishes...
Brians head at this point was a mess. I believe during this period he was contemplating suicide as the demise of Freddie and Queen as a band really effected him badly. Look at Brian on the 86 magic tour and then compare his stage persona from 91 onwards.
@@charkieee7866 Well, the main idea still applies, if not worse so. He knows Freddie's got little to no time left, and there's nothing he can do about it.
@@SteveFletcherGuitar Yes struggling hard on his creative's partner death, however I really like it and love his voice, clean perfect guitar riffs, he does it all! what a master!
I see nothing difficult here in terms of guitar playing. I've seen much harder folk or blues or jazz chords and played much harder and faster banjo rolls. Even May looks happy behind a guitar for once - maybe just thinking about the money? Steve Vai looking more interested in chewing his gum than thinking about playing a guitar says MORE about this song than anything written on MePipe.

love steve vai in this haha, even tho this isn't what he would usually play he still looks like he's loving every moment of it
He's onstage with Brian May?!?! What's not to love!! 😂

First heard this on the queen live 3 cd. Loved it. Amazing solo and great voice I think.

God, I fucking love Brian May!
Brian May, as always is the other half of the group queen, it's so obvious, he's just too modest, SUPER singing voice

His marriage was ending as well. I think, but not sure, he also lost his Dad about this time.

Nice to see Brian's accountant at 0:19 (third from left) on backing vocals.
Kinda nice to know, that even legends fuck up their own solos from time to time. So you don't judge yourself too much when you screw up playing sth
Steve Vai a back seat on rhythm guitar!!!

Singing and playing at the same time without autotune and not being usually the front man is not easy .
Wait Cozy is playing Zildjian Cymbals? thats a new thing.
Never realised how hard this solo was until watching this.. can totally see why he hasn't played it live for over 25 years.
