- The new Privilège Signature 580 has many similarities to the popular 585. However, while both share the same rigorous build methodology and centre pod construction, the Privilège Signature 580 is a completely different boat from the 585. The most notable changes can be seen in the exterior spaces such as the flydeck, helm, foredeck and the cockpit.
This hands down my dream boat, someday I’ll be happy just to see one at a boat show, to own one would be a miracle.
Both boats are impressive, however the 585 is just perfection IMO.
Agreed
Are you still able to get that exquisite woodworking of the 585 in the 580, the woodworking in the older models was superb truly a livable home, newer models look like an off-the-line leopard interior
Hi Matthew - agreed, the woodworking on the 585 is exquisite. All Privilege catamarans are semi-custom and the owner can choose the wood finish and arrangement that best reflects their needs - the quality of workmanship remains top notch!
@@PrivilegeCatamaransAmerica Thank you, praying to God, and just gotta keep playing that lottery, would love to get it from God,
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS😍
Hey Rob we really enjoy your privilege updates and the 580 is a great looking boat but why is it nine tons heavier that the 585? Personally I would have liked to have seen the 580 utilize carbon to keep the weight down the current weight is similar to the 640 why?
Although we can't state this definitively, it seems clear to us that the forward deck, flydeck and helm structures would all add weight to the boat.
Maybe the ikea like furnishings has a lot to do with it
*Nine* tons?? Are you certain that's accurate? Sounds too much additional weight given very similar size between the two.
I personally prefer the layout of the 585 for a liveaboard. If you're buying a boat for your family to travel the world.. you want as much inner space as possible. Yes you will want to spend a lot of time outside.. but the 585 like the Zatara had so much living space.
I think if the designers go back to the drawing board.. update things & modernize any improvements that have been made since the 585 was first built. But keep that internal space. Even if a cabin is not in use.. it's great storage space for provisions especially if you're going to be far away from your home country for a couple years.
If someone preferred the 585 could you still order a 585 instead?
How long is the waiting list for a new delivery
The wait period for a 580 today is approximately 2 years.
What a pity I really liked the 585, the 580 looks like an assembly of ideas that just don't hang together and look disjointed.
