- Hi everyone, I'm Sofia Delgris. Today I'm going to show you a simple recipe for sugar flower paste. How to make a sugar paste that always stays flexible. We will need:
cornstarch - 90 gr.,
very fine powdered sugar - 40 gr.,
CMC powder (tylose) - 10 gr.,
glucose syrup or honey - 25 gr.,
glycerin - 10 gr.,
coconut oil or crisco - 15 gr.,
boiling water - 40 gr.
Bowl. Also a plastic bag and a silicone spatula.
I pack the sugar flower paste in a plastic bag. And leave it on the counter for seven hours.

Hi, I'm living in a high humid climate. Actually it's raining all day long. Can I make flowers out of this and keep for dats. Also will the paste will not get oil depletion due to himid?
Do you use the flexible gum paste the same way as the regular gum paste? Is it rolled out and formed the same way or is there something different the way you use it? Thanks in advance.

Bon après-midi Les fleurs en sucre préparées doivent être conservées dans un endroit à l'abri de la lumière et de la poussière. A température ambiante et de préférence dans un endroit sec. Il peut être stocké pendant de nombreuses années sans perte de qualité, car... ils sont secs - c'est également sans danger sur le plan sanitaire. J'aime ranger dans mon placard ou sur des étagères dans des contenants en plastique transparent avec couvercle. Placez des serviettes en papier au fond du récipient. Évitez une humidité élevée et la lumière directe du soleil.
La pâte à sucre que vous préparez vous-même doit être conservée au réfrigérateur pendant 2 semaines maximum dans le paquet.

Hi. Thanks for the question. 🥰 Yes, this paste is suitable for working with sugar flowers in humid climates. It does not melt during work. And ready-made flowers also tolerate high humidity well.

Hello! Thank you for your comment. Such lumps in the sugar paste may be due to the fact that either the powdered sugar or tylose is not finely ground. I have now moved to a new place and am having a hard time finding the right ingredients. You need to use finely ground ingredients, or sift them through a sieve.

Hello! Thank you! Most likely the reason is glycerin. It is glycerin that allows the finished flowers to remain plastic. Try using a different brand of glycerin.

Hi! This sugarpaste is quite resistant to both elevated temperatures and excessive humidity. But I do not recommend to set flowers from this sugarpaste on wet cream.

Hello! I'm glad you find my videos interesting. I store sugar pastes in the fridge but no more than 2 months. And I wrap them tightly in plastic wrap.
But usually I try to prepare a small amount of gumpaste and use immediately. From the leftovers I prefer to make dry bases for flowers, such as drops for a rose from this video: ua-cam.com/video/uiGHvOWSa2s/v-deo.html.

Hi, I made these today and used melted vegetable shortening (crisco) insteadnof coconut oil and it worked perfectly

Instead of glycerine, what can use??
Glycerin is necessary for the sugar flowers to remain pliable. Glycerin attracts moisture from the surrounding air and so the flowers will always have soft petals. There is no other substance with similar properties. You can simply omit the glycerin from the recipe, but then the flowers gumpaste will not be flexible.
