I had a Mégane Monaco convertible in red with red hood for fourteen years, wish I'd never got rid of it ,nothing wrong with it but my head was turned by VW Eos ... I did 138000 miles in my Mégane and it never let me down .
I have had several shonky Vauxhalls as company cars - my Dad has had great service over a few years from a number of Renaults - I think the Renault has a better build quality and reliability record than the pub car bore "expert" would have you believe whereas Vauxhall isn't as good as many would have you believe
I had the 2.0 Mégane before I brought my 2.2 astra coupe and I defo prefer the astra but the Mégane was great in the summer untill the cambelt blew the thing up ✌🏽
renault is french and electronics in french cars are notorious, this is one of the last true genuine vauxhalls before build quality slipped and they became french, seen many 2010 corsas fail on rotting subframes. my 2002 astra bertone is still going strong :) so is my 2003 coupe
@@zackaboy1236 Technically true! Vauxhall hadn't developed a model independently of Opel since the original Viva. Vauxhall models are just production line variant of equivalent of Opel models. The only thing "VAUXHALL" about them is UK specific tuning of the steering and chassis. Nothing is wrong with a Opel. In fact my father and grandfather were both engineers at the company their entire careers and my mother's family owns several dealerships in Bavaria and Thuringia.
I disagree. The megane is prettier than the Astra, and best proof is that after ~20 years, you can still see these Meganes I on the roads whereas no one kept his Astra.

Strange, my Megane Convertible is 20 years old and has never had electronics problems. And that for 300000Km

What was he on that day. The astra good car as it was was just dull. The Megane MK1.5 was a much better looking car both inside and outside.

Ich verliere beim Megane 1 Öl am Getriebe und das bei noch nicht mal 90000 kilometer .Mein Astra ist Bj 94. und immer noch alles Dicht . Grüße
