Thanks for watching - it was definitely a fun trek. I noticed from your channel that you are also a trekker to ancient sites. Great stuff to watch - Keep On Trekking.............................alex
Fantastic video.the ancient ones transcended and beamed up straight to the Stars while we postmodernist stand around and wonder,!! I dig the music too, although it drives some people nuts. I like the comments made by the first Nation peoples also !! I love 100-degree heat in my superlite soaking wet flight jumpsuit with a sombrero and a soaking wet towel over my soaking wet head. It just feels so comfortable in 105 degrees. Comfort in extreme temperatures is possible but I must say that everything begins with a prayer One's prayer must be very strong before visiting these very powerful mystic ancient sites. Thank you Alex for bringing this to us.
Electrolyte tablets electrolytes electrolytes electrolytes all the water can't help you without electrolytes... thank you for what you do... really enjoy your videos 🙏😊🙏 wishing you continued great health and well-being!!
Hi, nice to see that you are still at it. I saw the Tonopah Air Field episode thought it was really informative so I decided to check out your channel. You have traveled everywhere!! I like to roam around Nevada and take videos, but I am just starting out. Keep up the good work. Maybe our solo paths will cross someday. A new subscriber.
@@storiesbyalex I am your newest subscriber, and I wanted to share these petroglyphs with you and if your ever near New Mexico this is in Cibola County, small village called Milan. ua-cam.com/video/nHU4hKt3w6U/v-deo.html
Live there and survive 110+* every summer. First that is exactly WHY we don't summer hike after 9am and that is exactly why we drink Gatorade AND water.
Cindy, thanks for watching and your comments. I thought I was doing okay as I was drinking plenty of water and gatorade, but a very warm wind came up and I forgot about the 2nd part to heat exhaustion - the surrounding air overheated my body................alex
Loved the intro, very creative! That is, until you said you were having heat related issues. I've been there. So, I'm really glad your ok. Scary. We'd hate to lose you, so no more deserts until the Fall! 😉. Thanks again for sharing your journey! Love seeing the tools you find as much as the petroglyphs... Brilliant.
OUCH. Been there, done that-- just after moving to the Mojave years and years ago, I ended up stuck on a high ledge at the Valley of Fire in Nevada, dehydrated to the point of nausea and chills; a couple of friends got me down and to the Rangers, who wrapped me in wet towels and made sure I was hydrated before reading me a well-deserved riot act. NOT FUN! I'm glad you got out!
This is a somewhat popular area. But nearby, are some very “interesting”areas. Lots of untouched a locations and a very eerie place. Go out at night, there is lots of weird stuff going on. You will see lights sometimes, they say they are flares and probably are, but why? Nothing out there. I have spent lots of time in the area. Very cool place.
Thanks for watching and your comments. I hope to return to that area in October and film the Oatman site which is located on the opposite bank area.................................alex
There are several major sites in that area. Sears Point, Oatman, Quail Point, Painted Rock, and Gillespie Dam. The easiest to get to is Painted Rock which is located at a BLM Campground. See this link: www.blm.gov/visit/painted-rock-petroglyph-site. The largest site is Sears Point and you can find directions to that site by a Google search for directions. Humingbird and Oatman Point are located opposite each other along a dry portion of the Gila River. I found them by gather information from Kay's hiking blog and then using google earth map to narrow down the location. Both these sites are about 2 miles from Painted Rock. This is the link: www.kayplaza.com/hiketravel/map/disclaimer.php . Happy trekking....................alex
Salt, take salt with you, eat it while your drinking water and this shutdown will not happen ever again, and also carry a piece of black tourmaline... These places are full of energies we are not ready for.
Mark, thanks for watching the film and your comment. I had plenty of water and electrolyte tablets and I thought I was good to go. HOWEVER, the temperature was over a hundred and so later I realized that in addition to having plenty of water a person should be very aware of the temperature. Essentially, my body overheated. So, two independent factors can cause heat stroke. Lack of water/electrolytes and heat...........alex
@@storiesbyalex The temperature of the water that we drink is also important, thank you for your feedback. All of us who take this adventuring into the wild have had the same experience,.. I was young when I had heat stroke, with plenty of water, so I know it is not an age issue. Thanks again I have a ways to go to watch all of your videos. I Shall.
Flor, the heat crept up on me. I had plenty of water, but what I did mot realize was that my body was overheating. Anyway, I will return to that location this Fall when things cool down. Thanks for watching......alex
Was looking for info re this site and found your vid. Nice vid, Alex, but really - you are old, and out of shape, and you went out in 100-degree-plus heat alone? What did you expect would happen?
Thanks for watching the series and your comments. I thought I was good to go as I had plenty of water and electrolyte tabs. Unfortunately, a slow wind came along that gradually heated up and raised my core temperature. I was concentrating on water and electrolytes and only realized after the fact that the wind was hotter than my body temperature. Anyways, I survived a valuable lesson.............................alex
Whoa, Alex, I hope you recovered! Don't go out when it's that hot, geez. I would not feel good about you sacrificing your health to show us cool petroglyphs.
You must take more care of yourself and avoid these area in summer please. You worry us so much. What are all those blue rocks? Thank you so much for the work you do and shate with us.
Cindy, thanks for watching and your kind words. I used a high contrast during the film editing process and the reflection of the sun onto the dark brown desert patina on the boulders changed the color in several scenes...........................alex
Cindy, I do believe that there are other forms of life in the universe. However, my observation is that Shaman often used headdresses in their ceremonies from animals with horns. Such as big horn sheep, buffalo, and etc. Also, psychotropic plants were often used during these ceremonies and the vision conjured from their journeys produced some interesting pictographs and petroglyphs. However, this is all speculation as no one knows for sure.....................................alex
Zeynel, thank you for watching the series and your kind words. If I visit Turkey sometime in the future I will certainly contact you. Thanks...................Alex
Thanks for watching and your comment. FYI, the purpose of this series is Education and not for finding artifacts. When I finished filming I placed the horseshoe amongst the petroglyph boulders...………………..alex
Some much of our history has been chipped off of bolders or taken by ppl who havent the right our own ppl know to leave things where they are and not to touch or disturb . Many visitors n contractors have violated n disrespected our land for thier own selfish desires
