Like for all the saab cars that were created!
:)
Love the sound of wood wind chimes in the background :D
Lol, I guess it’s a nice touch
@@AutoAutopsy Hi! I watched one of your older videos in which you said you don't have much head room. Im 6"6' so i was wondering would I fit in 9-3?
MR NB you will probably fit better than other cars in this class. The seat moves back quite a bit... coulddd go a little lower to the floor but not bad for me.. about 6’3”
@@_t_f_ Thanks! I found an 2006 Saab 9-3 with 107k miles on it. Flywheel and clutch have been preventively replaced on it and interior looks almost like new. Its selling for 5k. Vector Sport trim level with 17" and 16" wheels. Your thoughts?
MR NB hey man! I’ve got a Saab 93 and I’m 6”6’ there’s good enough space just not for passengers who sit behind you lol 🤣
I just done mine today and they made the whole car look different and mean 😤
Haha
I really appreciate all the things u do with the Saab’s and share it with us all on UA-cam....
Thank you :) your support means a lot!
Looks amazing! A bit of hard work and dedication paying off big time.
Agreed! She’s especially happy with the result
I did this mod years ago as well on my old SS after seeing CraigW post it up on SC. Some things that I found that made it much easier and come out a bit nicer was to use 3M 218 Fine Line Masking Tape - 1⁄4". That allowed for nice sharp edges, you can pull and stretch it around corners to give a nice radius then use regular tape inside the areas to protect after. Also to keep it even more simple, I used VHT Niteshades instead of black paint. It gave a perfect finish, super smooth and glossy like the lights. No sanding needed. I just wiped the lenses down with IPA to clean them prior to paint. You can see them in my channel on a video of my car.
Thinner masking tape would’ve helped
@@AutoAutopsy The 3M I listed above is amazing, its almost a plastic material so you get super crisp lines and can work it around radius's nicely. Also I neglected to mention when I did the niteshades, I didn't have to clear over the lens either.
Did the same on mine a couple of months ago. Even prefer it over the white facelift ones, on the 2008+ models. Anyway good job looks awesome.
Nice. Thank you!
Looks freaking nice. I'm going to try that on my saab
Have fun!
i love that mode :) im happy that u like it too
Thank you!
Omg!!! Looks so good! Thanks for the idea in the future 👌😎
:) thanks!
At first I was worried that you were going to paint the whole taillight black, but this looks fantastic without affecting function!
Lol no 😂Did you see the thumbnail? Thank you!!
@@AutoAutopsy Ha, no, I didn't notice, but I used to see people painting them all black so that it resticted the amount of light visible.
Looks nice
I agree!
Saabs are the only cars that look good with mascara on their lights.
Lol
you two make a great couple! aww.
:’)
Great work👍
Thanks!
Love your passion for these cars Let me know when you figure out your key Java thing
Will do!
It will look good with a new license plate ;)
Yes! Thank you again :)
They look great 👍🏼
Thanks!
Damn nice work they look amazing 😁🤟
Thank you!
So, does this mean the pre-facelift taillights will fit on my '08? I really don't like the iceblocks.
Outstanding
Thanks Ed!
It looks great
Thanks!
Do I count a total of 3 days for this?
I'd love to do this for my daily 9-3 Aero, but I'll need to find a week where I don't need to drive anywhere lol
Lol. Ideally, yes. Three days. You could do it in two tho
Bomb 💣
thanks!
Bro I’d love for you to check out my one owner 2005 9-3 it’s got 74,000 original miles. I have the original window sticker docs and everything it’s clean af
Hi. how did you solve the glare issue?
What glare?
@@AutoAutopsy
retroreflector
I feel like you covered the reflector in the tail lights
yes, this makes the car illegal because it now has no reflectors, so need to add reflectors a la facelift. It would fail any MoT/inspection for this (or should if the inspector knows his onions)
Good thing we don’t have Mot inspections in the US😉
This is definitely not illegal...at least here in the states.
@@AutoAutopsyI was a vehicle safety and emissions inspector in the U.S for 8 years and can say that in the U.S, it's not a big deal because no inspector checks for reflectors but here in Europe, where I live now, this is something every inspector checks and your car fails inspection/mot here without them. I have a pretty cool inspection guy so I have had mine like this the last few years but he did say the first time I went to him that technically he should fail me due to no rear reflectors but since we know each other pretty good he would let it slide.
AMAZINGNES!!!
Thank you!
Perfect !!! The next upgrade is a hot color !!! My suggestion is opel 585. It's a bit darker.
We do have plans to repaint at some point. Sorting everything mechanical is the first task tho!
@@AutoAutopsy Definitely the mechanical parts first. Good continuity!
Thanks!
Yo, what do u think about Saab v6 06 maptun downpipe, and full sport exhaust, bigger injectors aswell as a cold air intake. BUT a stock turbo do y think 350hp is doable? Or will the turbo be hella stressed and probably blow? Thankful for answers 👍🏽
Yeah I wouldn’t push that much on a stock turbo. Too risky
Auto Autopsy damn yeah i reckon that.. Sad because I’m pretty cheap lol, huh just a bigger budget needed 😕😆
Looks great! I may do this but I’m curious how it looks with the lights on?
I’m always hesitant to do mods that could potentially diminish some of my break light brightness, even though I know you guys didn’t cover the entire thing.
Can’t believe I didn’t show it with the lights not on...sorry about that. Car looks 100% normal, lights aren’t dimmed at all
How do you think these would look on a black 07?
Could look good. You could try to photoshop it quickly to see!
@@AutoAutopsy I'll take that as a DONT TRY IT!! Haha. You're an extremely knowledgeable dude and I won't try talk myself into a nonsense mod
It's a very well taken care of 07 anniversary 9-3! I'll prob keep it stock. Seats have no rips!!!! WTF???????
Hello , what sandpaper numbers did you use?)
i stated in the video! don't remember off the top of of mead, but nothing aggressive
Any ways to do the lighter colored icy ones on mine?
not sure what you mean by this lol
@@AutoAutopsy meaning is there a way to make them clear as opposed to the spray painting the black lines. I believe u had a vid on how to install the clear ones that u had but I wanted to see if there wuz a DIY to make them
I wonder if I can do this on my 2000 9-3🤔
You should try!
what liquid do you use after the painting?
You mean clear coat?? I showed it in the video
@@AutoAutopsy yes i mean that.i have painted like you, have tried 2000 degree sand paper after painting and the headlights are darker,so i need to make shiny them
They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Maybe Craig copied it from me (he does credit "someone else" with the idea in his forum post). I did mine with wrap though, because I wasn't sure about it but I'm actually thinking of changing it to body colour and painting. The wrap is starting to look a little tatty now after being on for almost 9 years. You can see the lights clearly in this video ua-cam.com/video/Wha7FvY5cic/v-deo.html. I've never seen another 9-3 with this mod in the UK and interestingly enough, I was universally derided when I first showed it on Saab Nuts! "Just put ice blocks on" they said - well, actually, I dislike iceblocks because I hate seeing the red bulbs and also hate the red side reflector that's there just for US regulation.
Anyway up: nice job, well done. Looks really really good. I think they look way superior to ice blocks. You've convinced me to change mine to painted instead of wrap, just gotta decide whether to paint body colour or black now!! Ah, decisions decisions!!
lol, maybe it was yours then who started. if so, great idea!!
Will you be selling your Turbo x and Arc?(btw of moving on garage video)
Nope haha that was April fools
Auto Autopsy good one.
