Christmastime is here, and the 1993 Cowboys are hot on the heels of the Giants in the race for the NFC East crown. Their regular season home finale comes against a veteran Redskins squad which upended Dallas way back in Week 1. Will Troy & the 'Boys make it four wins in a row on the season, or will Mark Rypien and the Redskins be the spoiler once again?
Jim Nantz and Randy Cross call the game from Texas Stadium for CBS. Enjoy! - Спорт
I have most of the early-mid 90s Cowboys games on VHS….it’s awesome to be able to watch these on UA-cam so easily..Thanks Ryan for all the uploads!
agree. I wished I had taped mine. I'm glad I was able to stumble on these videos.
If Jerry Jones had signed Emmitt before the season began, and if Leon Lett hadn't had another goofed play on Thanksgiving, Dallas could have gone 15-1 in 1993.
true.
Possibly 16-0 or 14-2
A big difference between Johnson and Switzer is that Johnson was not happy with his team’s sloppy penalties. Switzer didn’t care as long as scoreboard looked good.
This was a tune up game for the Cowboys. The Giants would lose against the Cardinals earlier that day and with both teams at 11-4 it would set up the famous Emmitt Smith separated shoulder game. Whoever won that game would win the NFC East and win homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. With the Redskins, well their season was already down the tubes. It would be the end of Mark Rypien, Ricky Sanders, Joe Jacoby, Jeff Bostic, Art Monk, etc in Washington. The team that went 9-7 the year before their season was essentially over after the second week. Richie Petitbon would never coach again. For the Cowboys it was another Super Bowl trophy for them, back to back with that one.
Darrell Green still had nine more seasons in him, as well as four more head coaches and one interim.
First Redskins team to be swept by the Cardinals since 1974
I was in Illinois( visiting friends) during Christmas '93 and the Giants- Cards game was being aired at the same time as this one. So I had to watch for updates while rooting for the Cards( who were better than their record) to beat the Giants. The Cowboys- dead skin game was a laugher.
ill never forget this game i was in bed burning up with fever i was about 23 or 24 years old. i bleed silver and blue then and i still do now go my cowboys
Actually this game was played the day after Christmas that year. Thanks for the upload btw.
Thank you so much and if you have other Cowboys games of 1992-93-95, go ahead I will watch all of them with great memories being a die hard Dallas fans ...
Man it’s fun watching games when you know you were the best team in football. Not good. Not competitive. The best!
LOL, I liked ol' Red Cashion.."Firstdowwwnn!" It kinda sounds like a baseball umpire, "Yerouuutt!"..HAHAHAHA
Frank Wycheck was on Washington. Man Washington really hit the skids in 93. Age & injuries really took their toll
Yeah they sure did. The Redskins have never been even close to what they used to be back in the 1980s glory days. Their last good year was 1991.
@@charlieyellowstone8248 1999 was almost as good offensively
Imagine if RG3 didn't get hurt!!!
@@brucedavis3816 it wasn’t gonna work anyway because Dan the owner made a rift between coach and player..something that good teams never do
@@snakesupreme being a cowboy 50 year die hard fan boy I can relate!!!
Joe Gibbs was such a class act.
I thought Summerall and Madden did this game. It was the #2 team of Jim Nantz and Randy Cross that called this one.
I think 1993 Jim Nantz would fit better with Tony Romo than Jim Nantz today.
Or Dick Stocton & Randy Cross
Nantz and Cross were not the #2 team. That would be Lundquist and Fouts.
@@fantasticvoyage262 that’s true, but Nantz and Cross somehow got to do the Packers-Cowboys playoff game that year.
2 days prior to this game, Randy Cross did the Sun Bowl with Dick Stockton.
@@rjpsuh06 You are right. It was the year before Lundquist and Fouts was the #2 team.
2 years afrer the skins win the bowl skins was never the same as for Dallas I watched this game the dynasty was starting
I hated to see Art Monk go out like that.....last season, 'Skins go 4-12
Cowboys only nfc east loss in 1993 came at rfk stadium in week 1 to these terrible redskins. Ironically, Washington's only divison win was vs the cowboys
It was the era when NFC east division winner almost means world champion
Where’s my 93 @ Philthy game, biggest Aikman fan in America?
I'm still working on it. I've had trouble this week with my editing software, so that slowed me down considerably. Hopefully, I'll have it up by the end of this coming weekend.
@@RyansCowboysCorner don’t make me call you a fake Aikman fan!! Haha jk you’re good man. I know you’re writing books, too. When’s that Aikman documentary out?
@@joewanke6000 I do have the Redskins game. Not sure about the other two though. I'll have to dig deep in my files.
'93 game @ Philadelphia Emmitt Smith ran wild against that Eagle defense. 237 yds & TD
@@selwynpierce4462 yeah we all know that fact by now. Lol

Washington Redskins Against Dallas Cowboys From 1993 ☺🏈
58 on Washington is a gentleman!!
I'm only here to see the fights between irvin & green that I heard about today.
Let's see if the two of them are actually tussling or just grab a$$ing for ratings...
The accuracy 😮
What I liked most about the Cowboys during their Super Bowl years of 92,93,95, is their record against the Redskins.....2-4. Gotta love it!
What I like is the all-time record. 78-48 dallas. Gotta love it!! 30 more wins.
@@nicholashord144 What I like is that Dak wanted to have the same playoff record as Billy Kilmer 2-5 😂
@slimsherman5818 Stop embarrassing yourself.
I remember everyone thought Pettybone was going to be great. He was the biggest flop
That was a bad team all of a sudden that he inherited. It's still mind boggling how quickly the Redskins went from awesome in '91 to just a mess by the middle of '93. And half of the '91 starters were still there. Joe Gibbs somehow, would've still gotten them a few more wins.
@@denniseverett1904 I agree. Joe Gibbs was a helluva coach.
@@briancusack4386 He won Super Bowls with 3 different QBs.
Troy Aikman reached out to me and asked me if you had the 93 opener @ RFK? He knows it was an ugly game but he’d still like to watch it, again..
Yes, I do have that game. I'll try to upload it sometime in December.
@@RyansCowboysCorner I’ll let Troy know. Maybe he’ll send you another Cameo?
I like ol' Red, lol.."FirstDOWWWNNN!"..HAHAHA..sounds kinda like a baseball umpire, "Yer OUUUTTT!"
Жаль, что в детстве и в юности из-за противостояния и пропаганды 2х так называемых великих держав США и СССР Восточная половина планеты Земля знала очень мало о такой игре, как американский футбол, где собраны практически все виды спорта...олимпийские...и это так и есть...it' s so true.
This isn't week 17
92-93 season they played Chicago in wk17 & the next season obviously they played the giants in wk17
@@Tone22845 In 1993, each team had two open dates during the regular season. So Dallas' game at New York in the regular season finale was Week 18.
I really hated this game damn dead skins lost me money to the 🐄 ♀️
Love the emojis !!!
You was a fool to think the skins was gonna sweep 'em you deserved to lose that money 😂😂😂
Its actually disgusting there's no Redskins in the league anymore for whatever reason
HTTR forever. Screw the snowflakes.
The refs sure helped the Cowboys in this game
You posted the same crap on a Cards/Cowboys game. You still mad muffin?
@@troyc4250 never been a Cowboys fan so get a life and don’t follow me. I post what I want.
