  • Scotland has some of the most beautiful old trees I have ever seen, with intricate shapes and twisted branches that remind me of Lord of the Rings and other fantasy worlds. In this video, I explore a few forests near Glencoe on a rainy October day. It was peak time for Fall color, and the rain created a mystical atmosphere that's perfect for woodland. Wonderful conditions for a landscape photography trip in the woods.
I also talk about why exactly I am here instead of home in the Pacific Northwest.
I have a lot of images in the works from this trip, many of them not part of a video (though I have a couple videos coming up as well). If you'd like to see all of the images, following me on Instagram is the best way: / yuriygarnaev

Dude! I am going to the highlands in mid October in a few weeks!! Its been on my bucket list too, really since Harry Potter but I connected with it as well in the Daniel Craig Bond films (Skyfall). The burnt oranges are insane! I'm expecting rain, but hoping for a few clear days too.

Oh that is an awesome time to go, you may get some snow on the peaks which is so beautiful with the fall colors. I miss Scotland. It's pure magic, I'm sure you will love it. Looking forward to seeing the images you come away with!
