@@Choose80sLoved what she said about Roy. I met him briefly when i worked for his lung cancer charity in Liverpool. He was such an inspiration and his wife, Fiona, was amazing.
Isn;t Cheryl a lovely lady...I have always thought that she gives off a kind genuine vibe...enjoying this interview ..missed your channel whilste I was away , have a lovely weekend 🎶🎶🎶
What a fantastic interview! Some excellent questions for Cheryl, which she answered with her unique honesty, detail and sense of humour. I've been a Bucks Fizz fan since the beginning and it's always lovely to hear something new in interviews. Thanks so much. ❤️💙💛
Why are British girls from the early 80s still so genuine and warm and not spoiled by their success ? Today it seems everyone wants to be famous more than they want to be creatively happy, so much so they lose their like ability factor. So many 1980s female artists I’ve seen interviewed in recent years and they’ve all been real and extremely likeable.. Cheryl Baker in this interview, Keren and Sarah from Bananarama, Hazel O Connor, Susanne and Joanne from Human League, Mari Wilson, Toyah, Kim Wilde, the list goes on. It’s all so corporate driven today I think we rarely see the real person behind the image. Maybe the real person gets lost, even to themselves.
Do you remember Cheryl’s Gotcha on Noel’s house party, it’s on Andy Pearman’s channel if you search her name and the show. Soooooo funny - “because it’s so small!” 🤣 Even Mary Whitehouse approved lol. He was funny with the group on Swap Shop too, when Land of make believe was #1. Jay was taking her time answering a viewer’s phone question and he was like we’re running out of time, Grandstand starts in ten mins 😂 Great interview, Cheryl’s so lovely. I’ve met her a few times after gigs and had messages from her. Bit surprised to hear her say about the bingo cos the group played bingo halls before and she said she found it a bit soul destroying. Still, after the misery of Covid and lockdown it doesn’t really matter anymore, everyone just wants life to be fun again and the Fizz certainly put smiles on lots of faces.
It absolutely staggers the imagination that here in the States, legendary artists that have enjoyed enormous acclaim at home for decades remain a relatively unknown quantity among the masses here. That would include such greats as Luv', Sailor, Pussycat and of course the utterly stupendous (Bucks) Fizz. But of course Blitz Magazine - The Rock And Roll Magazine For Thinking People doesn't bow the knee to the masses. We have been in (Bucks) Fizz's corner from the onset (and MAJOR bonus points for the nods to the Monkees and Sandie Shaw!). Keep up the great, great work!!
