Same here. Haha the old shop rite Super market. I remember renting this and rad every time. I even marked one of the insides of the box and showed my mom it’s the same one haha
one of the best movies as a kid . I own this on vhs. .. found it at a thrift store . along with the movie rad... also one of the best bike movies of all time
My Stepan recorded over my Rad movie back when I was a kid. It's been at least 20 years and I still give him hell about. "Hey Dad, I checked again this year and they still don't have Rad on DVD."
Finally after 20 plus years of trying to remember the title of this movie so I could watch it again! I'm 36 as well and always wanted a dirt bike due to this movie!! I going to finally rewatch it with my 4 year old son in hopes that he will enjoy it like I did at his age
Grew up in the 1980's, Billy Ocean did that song When the Tuff get going, Going to get Rough, I have owned 2 dirt bikes since the late 1990's and remember this 🎬.
This was such a relatable movie for me I was an only child with blonde hair single mom... she took me to the drive in to see this movie when it came out in 85 I was six I begged her for month's for my own but she was a broke single mom raising a boy. She said she would match what I could save, so I did just that! By my 7th b-day saved 85 buck's she got me a Honda CR50 found out later she payed 250$ for it some mom's are just the best that was the start of a MAYJOR ADDICTION since then iv'e owned 50-60 plus bike's so many can't remember exact count... good time's
hillbilly bmx pretty sure even an ‘80 cr50 would’ve gone for more than $250 in 86...considering a nib 3 1/2 horse tecumseh at the time was around $185.
So much nostalgia even though I am only 13 years old, it just shows how younger generations can enjoy a movie from the 80's. I remember as a kid my dad would always play movies like this, especially car and motocross movies. Or even older Adam Sandler movies. Great movie would recommend showing to your own children or just any youngster.
I remember watching this at like 8 and begging my parents for a dirt bike, never got one as a kid. But now I’m 20 and I’m on my 3rd bike. Don’t let your dreams die just cause a few years go bye.
Love this movie. I've always seen The Dirt Bike Kid, Rad and Winners Take All as a trilogy, even though each of them is it's own film. They don't make movies like those anymore.
Man I loved this movie as a kid. my dickhead cousin had a 1991 yz80 reminded of this bike and rubbed it in my face for 2 years then he showed up with a 1987 rm80 all apart in a box some one gave him. Months later I bought it from him since he didn't know how to put it together. The next day after spending my life savings of 150 bucks. I was home sick from school and put that sucker together that morning in my living room and ripped it the rest of the day. Lol man I loved that bike the world was awesome in my dirt bike kid days. The bikes long gone now but I still have my nickel plated 1980 Mongoose BMX my cousin didn't get it in the deal lol
Thomas D i watched a few of them this weekend. So crazy how much freestyle evolved. Backflips were pretty much non excistant and now guys do them like they are nothing. I watched the movie RAD yesterday too. The last few days have been a trip down memory lane.
Im 29 now... Still havent achieved the dream to live in the u.s but did achieve the dream of owning my own dirt bike and riding it at the farm nearby. God bless us all. Ps: When he gets to that park with the Flying American Flag and says WOW and right away; "You're something special!" Yeaaahman
My first bike was an 87 YZ80, this was one of my fav movies loooong before I got ever got on 2 wheels. As an adult I talk to my bikes all the time, AND THEY TALK BACK TOO.... SERIOUS
I absolutely love this movie 🍿!!! It was one of the big reasons I got a brand new 1990 Yz80 in 1992 for only 1500 brand new at the Yamaha dealer in East Hanover NJ... Miss those days...
I finally found this movie after more than 25yrs because I couldn’t really remember the title of the movie... such an amazing feeling to watch it again..!! Thanks for the upload man!! Peace.
Thank you Who ever you are who put this up you are the biggest legend ever , more people need , no want to see this film i watch it since the day i was 1 and is still my favorite to this day.
I remember this film as a kid back in the good old day's and this guy reminds me of the government take things but don't want to give anything back but thanks for sharing the film it brings back memories of a kid
I hope Peter Billingsley returns for a reboot or sequel to this movie like he did in Christmas Story He should play the mysterious old man who created the magical dirt bike
OK, it is a magic bike. It can fly over a city, run down the road by itself, (who ever sees it, thinks nothing of it), and can push around a bulldozer and make moral decisions. Wow, this movie is more realistic than the TV news! :) I bought my first YZ in 1978 as a kid, and my last one in 2020 as an old man. Live! :)
I realized the boy with the bike is the same boy from the Christmas story it seem like every movie he plays in he always obsessed with something 1st it was a gun n now its a bike lol😂😎
Aww man i used to watch this all the time as a kid n plus they play this in school too n also fight of the navigator all the time when we have fun Fridays lol🙏😎
I remember the 1990 YZ80. That little bike would rip an adult around no problem! It did have the least amount of suspension travel of all the 80s but probably the most potent engine! Well my 91 KX 80 Bigwheel put the smack down on it...lol.
The 80s. We really did ride our dirt bikes all through the countryside and the edges of town. I had a honda crx 80 (I think) It was a 4 stroke. Much quieter than the two strokes in the movie. Nowhere near as fast a responsive engine but it had 5 gears and could go up to highway speeds.
Glad people like you are bringing back stuff from our childhood. When I finally got my parents to agree to buy me a dirtbike many years ago, I got one that look liked this bike because of this movie.
Thats funny. I like the way the XR looks too, I recently bought a Yamaha RT180 (the one in my profile pic), it looks very similer to an XR and the YZ in this movie. I just liked the way to looked, probably childhood nostalgia from this movie.
I grew up watching this movie and I always keep my bike squeaky clean this movie was a good influence on me
The washing of the bike was the love scene lol
Oh man, I did not see that premise. hollywood is SICK!!!
😂😂😂😂🤮

"Hey Dad, I checked again this year and they still don't have Rad on DVD."
love this film. still have it on vhs from a child. was a rare film in the UK!
Dan Dole They have it on blu-ray and DVD now great picture but the new version is terrible they cut out some scenes. The VHS is better.
Had the VHS copy as a child too.
This movie came out when i was 7 years old, came across it by accident, awesome to see it after 36 years
It has awakened my interest in motorcycles since my childhood, thanks to this film of the eighties
And thus my love for motorcycles ever since this movie came out
Finally after 20 plus years of trying to remember the title of this movie so I could watch it again! I'm 36 as well and always wanted a dirt bike due to this movie!! I going to finally rewatch it with my 4 year old son in hopes that he will enjoy it like I did at his age

Dan Guerrera yea same

I'm a bike guy too, now am 40 and still a biker by heart and watching this movie... Bikes always makes me feel younger, never make me feel older,
Good clean movie. No violence, no bad language, no nudity. Just clean fun. Unlike the shit we see today.
Criticizing bad language by using it, very hypocritical, very cool

50$ for a dirt bike, god I love the 80’s
New Suzuki’s are like $6000 dollars
Back in the early 90's my mom rented this from a corner store near our house. It was my favorite movie for years.

And the bike getting an 'erection' when he rubs the mudguard cleaning it at the start...

One of my favorite bikes was the 1990 yz80. My good friend had one and I had the kx80 big wheel.

The 80s. We really did ride our dirt bikes all through the countryside and the edges of town. I had a honda crx 80 (I think) It was a 4 stroke. Much quieter than the two strokes in the movie. Nowhere near as fast a responsive engine but it had 5 gears and could go up to highway speeds.

What kind was it?
Because of this movie and through much tenacious pestering and begging, my dad got me a kx80 when I was 12. Friggin loved that bike.
It was a Honda XR 100. I know, it's a 4 stroke but it was white with a red seat. It was the early 90s. 94 or 95 I think.
