Ok, so, let's be clear about the green card expiration. The actual card needs to be renewed every 10 years, but the status of being a permanent resident of the USA never expires.
Are you even listening to yourself? If your permanent residence doesn’t expire why bother renewing your greencard then🤷♀️ Why cant you be allowed to go though customs and re-enter the USA with an expired greencard after travel abroad if your permanent residency stays after your greencard expires🤷♀️
@nafulasharleen You need to renew the card for obvious reasons - traveling, work etc. The status of being a green card holder never expires. My husband is an immigration attorney.
@ Whats the point of having a valid status that you cant use without a valid card🤦♀️so you cant re enter the the country, cannot work, can be a risk for deportation, can even be prosecuted if you use the expired card. So what is the use of being a permanent resident🤷♀️just a useless status?
@@nafulasharleen Obviously you should never travel with expired green card, anymore than you should drive while your your license is expired. But because your driver's license is expired, it doesn't mean that you are required to retake the driving exam - you simply need to renew your license. Take it easy sis!
@ I cant keep calm😂girl! you definitely frying all my brain cells out🤦♀️ Depending on how long your driving license has been expired, you might be required to take the test again. Just like the greencard renewal might be denied if you stay too long with an expired one. Having an immigration spouse does not make you one. I do my research on immigration stuff. So what you are saying is if someone who was previously a permanent resident gets deported, they still remain to be US permanent residents after all since the status does not expire🤷♀️
