Ray thought bikers were stupid, and it turned out to be bad for him.

Torturing a person has never been a good thing to do.
Is amazing how the story was made in this game, first both Johnny and Niko worked together a couple of times that didn't work out, then Johnny kidnaps Roman then Niko kills Jim, without both of them being aware of who did it in the first place.

Der Mexikaner, Niko knew that johnny kidnapped roman when in the end of the mission hostile negotiation and few time, roman will text ya a message saying"thanks for saving me from that biker guy who works for the Russians. Rom" in the mission no way on The subway, Niko will tell Phil and ray that he got unfinished business with the bikers, but johnny was deceived by billy while he was close to the truth when he said that he thought that Jason's killer is Russian/polish/Serb. Billy lied saying that the deadbeats were the ones who killed Jason, but only to take the H from them, the H was belonging to the Chinese, came over platypus, Nikos arrival ship to liberty city. And Johnny doesn't know who killed Jim either, he thought that Ray's men cornered him or something, but it was Niko, Niko was disappointed when he discovered that johnny wasn't with the bikers so that he could avenge his cousin's kidnap, that's the picture of that mafia-biker war, bro. I hope this completes your image of the topic but remember, all of this cuz john robbed ray in mission museum piece.

Roman's text to Niko about a biker with the Russians was a hint for the player, NOT Niko which means TLaD was already planned & why he didn't get to kill Johnny (or Luis). That could've been any biker, far as Niko was concerned.
When Niko told Phil & Ray that he needed help finding someone, he was referring to Florian/Bernie. He simply told Ray that Johnny wasn't with the others since that's who stole the money.

I never said that they kill Johnny in GTA IV. I said that Ray should've killed Jim, and Niko should've killed Clay and Terry, so that in GTA V, Johnny was even more broken because all of his comrades, as it were, from the Alderney chapter were either dead or locked up.
At least it makes offing Ray more satisfying.

@King Aadarsh III Yeah, if you pick Revenge, if you pick Deal then Niko also loses just about everything, and his whole purpose of coming to America was to start a fresh life for himself, but by the end of the game he's stuck in his old life all over again, that's truly what makes Niko's story the saddest IMO.

Actually, Rockstar made it really realisti,becuase it an old mafia thing. In the mafia (in real life) you kill the bosses hitman that boss will send his guy after you. But if you kill that boss, then another mafia family close to that one (who is more powerful) will send his guys after you without knowing. It's either that way or rockstar just made the run.

Johnny was a stupid fuck in this entire diamond situation. He knew what he was dealing with yet he got his best friend who had a wife and young kid killed, and later got Clay and Terry killed. He kept doing favors for Ashley and Angus told him to stop, but Johnny said it’s just a little favor. These missions were cool and all, and it’s just a game, but fuck you Johnny. He’s my most hated protagonist.

Johnny was one of the more moral characters honestly. Niko can kill in cold blood if he is pushed enough through anger and war trauma. Johnny kills for his Lost members and personal honorable old school gang principles against actual scumbag opp gangs. Luis kills for all business reasons and to help his friends and family he dgaf about nothing else.
Johnny doesn't care about anyone outside The Lost. He ripped off Ray here, Niko and Luis still sort of adhere to the rules. So no, not really.

This is probably my favorite cut scene in the entire series, the voice acting and directing was *chefs kiss* brilliant!
I was surprised to learn that a lot of people think that Johnny and The Lost deserved everything they got. People, do you even have a heart? Torturing a person, losing your best friend and everything that is dear to you, are already considered good things?
Johnny has proven that he isn't a bad person. He is a really good man and did not wish harm to anyone. For example, Johnny sincerely sympathized with Roman when he was so scared that he defecated in the car. Like all of us, he just made a mistake, for which he paid dearly. But this does not make us bad people if we understand our mistake and draw conclusions from it. The same with Johnny.
He could have killed Ray, but he didn't because he just needed money to support his weakened club and Johnny never took the opportunity to go to extremes. Now some smart guys will write to me that: "If they killed Ray, then they would be hunted." But this is complete nonsense, because a live Ray will cause them much more problems than a dead one. Logically.
Johnny didn't deserve Billy's betrayal, the subsequent drug life, the demise of his club, and his own death. He did bad things not because he was like that, but because life was like that. However, when he had a choice, he tried to do the right thing.
But no one is immune from mistakes. We should try to avoid them, but mistakes make us smarter and stronger.
But, unfortunately, some of them, on the contrary, will lead to fatal consequences.

Secondly, Johnny saw this as a great opportunity to get as much money as possible to increase the likelihood of the club's success. I, of course, have a negative attitude to this, but at the same time I understand Johnny, because he was in a difficult position.
1. Johnny still agreed to kidnap someone for Ashley, for a problem that Ashley got herself into. Regardless if he felt even a little bit of sympathy, he was still one of the kidnappers and Roman still gets put in danger as a result. If you feel that an action being done is wrong and are still doing it, using the common perspective of morality, that makes the person worse.
2. Ray was a Caporegime which means that killing him would result in relentless payback. Johnny and Jim were also in a rush to get out of the restaurant. How not killing someone is being taken in black and white is beyond me. He still ripped off Ray, which supported that Ray was correct to be suspicious of The Lost.
It is rather simple cause and effect, Johnny decides to steal the money, which is usually a death sentence when dealing with criminal organizations, and unsurprisingly they get tortured for information by the people that Jim warned not to rip off.
3. Things are not ever deserved. They just happen. Though, it is very clear that Billy blamed Johnny for what happened in the past. I will add that Johnny joined a Biker gang of his own free will and seemed to idolize Billy against his older brother's warnings. Johnny seemed to convince himself that he was fighting for something when he was just a Billy's follower to begin with.
4. You used the term "mistakes". But, everything Johnny did was the choices that he made. The word mistake means "An error or fault resulting from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness." What is the problem with that being used? Everyone has choices that they make, yet they use the term mistake in an attempt to excuse themselves from the consequences of that action.
Which is the tone you were taking in your comment. Downplaying the actions that Johnny has done for personal gain and solely focusing on his emotions and actions he could have taken, but for some reason didn't. That is what happens when you operate in the black and white.

So wrong of rockstar to do Johnny like that in GTA 5. He's one of favorite characters not just protagonist.
Johnny was my favorite in GTA IV. But i still think Trevor should have killed him but if Johnny was an antagonist of the game, how cool would it be?
