    Hello .
    Great video , very helpful.
Genereal question cause i am now building my rig with Lumix S5 and sigma 150-600.
The problem i have so far is the stabilization of the lens and camera.
To your experience , if you have a steady platform for the camera, what is tye best way to eliminate rollig shutter?
I found my self constantly battling with this issue.
I tryed everything . From disabling all is to using only ibis. But i never have a solid steady shot.
    Any tips?

I've already started on the new set up video, as I think I've settled on a final configuration :)

Nice rundown of what you use to film wildlife. Have you considered the G9ii? It has very good AF and all the video fewtures of the GH6. Only thing missing from it is a fan, but in British weather, I don't think you'll have an overheating problem.

I recorded this before the g9 mkii came out (and the video I have on the GH6 coming too) but the short version is the g9 mkii was missing some video features I use (i think they may have been/will be added in firmware) and the fan as you say, but mainly I'm waiting for the gh7 to see if that has built in ND filter and hopefully more FPS in 4k

    An interesting rig.
I like the results you get, I guess you got the Oly 150-400 ?
Wondered why OM did sponsor you with one, as far as I can tell no one else is doing the same quality insect videos as you.
I hope one day they upgrade their 100-400 as option for those who cannnot afford it.
Have you tried the 90mm macro at night. I use my 60mm & 30mm at night with auto focus and flash. With the much small max aperture I am not sure if it will auto focus at night by torch light like the other two lenses.

      Thanks.
OM haven't sponsored me sadly, but i did get the 150-400mm. Both the oly and panasonic 100-400 are good options, the 150-400 is a bigger advantage for stulls TBH which I like to do too.
Not tested the 90mm at night yet. I suspect it will focus ok on the OM-1 at least as I've played with it in poor light and it was fine

Hallo, few people knows the Pixel/Pixel trick but it's very useful!

What does your set up weigh? What is the ease or difficulty moving it around from place to place? Again, TFS!!

    • @ukwildlife
      @ukwildlife  10 місяців тому +1

Ah I probably should have mentioned that, something to put in the next video!
Its about 2.5Kg for the camera, lens and cage
Another 1kg for the rods, supports and plate
      700g for battery and monitor
3kg for tripod and video head
      So just over 8KG
I think I know what my backs been aching now! lol

Always interesting seeing other wildlife filmmakers set ups.
    cool video.
got to admit that rig looks the business, but waaay to heavy for me.
sadly i have to keep my set up it super light, so often i don't get the shot because of that, but there's always other chances at other times, hopefully closer!
i have a set up that's just for the garden, its big! and a smaller lighter set up i have just started to create for out and about in the world, my set up wont be for everyone a all - no bells and whistles, just the bare essentials and tiny! , but its what works for me.
a lot of camera set ups can be far too heavy for me. (life limitations are a bore)
so i have had to look into lighter, as i spent a few years unable to get out much with that other set up, that will get used, differently, but not as much.

I know what you mean, Ive upgraded my set up now, but I dont think I will be using it for trip where I will be walking for miles, its just too heavy!
I may do as you have, have 2 setups: a heavier less walking/hide set up and a lighter set up for days I plan to be walking long distances

@@ukwildlife i always felt having 2 set ups was too much, but in order for me to use the heavier set up, i will use that in my mates garden, the stuff stays there! i will get help to set myself up, and just park in a spot for the day in the garden! hehe.. and i'm finally able to try getting out with gear a little more - i do miss creating something, transport permitting!
