Hi Mike!! Thank you for the video. I have relied heavily on MCP and his teachings. I am a novice Piper, just over a year now. I have found that driving home from work (about an hour Drive) has been a great way to work on and practice the breathing method. No talking, focusing on the drive and my breathing. It makes the trip home less stressful and I enjoy my tobacco more as well. Happy Piping to ya!

Nice pipe, I recently acquired my second favorite pipe. A very nice big billiard from Italian Principe, it and the Cesare Barontini from Italy are my 2 favourites.

I like the rustication, might do something similar on my hobby block. Cant wait to try the 965, I have some in the cellar too. Thanks for sharing this method, I do prefer it since it makes me slow down my cadence and the flavors are massaged and pronounce😊 Awesome video

Excellent. I learned the breathing method from MP also but I think there is something he omitted. (I could be wrong.) The method does keep the pipe from getting too hot but I don't think it addresses the actual tasting of the smoke. In order to taste the smoke, I feel it requires removing the pipe from the mouth momentarily. This kinda refreshes the palate. Then go back to the puffing. Would you agree?

    Good instruction, sir!

Noob here.....been working on this method, and the first time it was great, but yesterday I noticed that I ended up inhaling a lot in the process. My question is, do you also close the back of your mouth or leave it open? if I leave it open, I can feel a lot of smoke being inhaled with the air from my nose. If I close it, I dont seem to bring in much smoke. Thanks!

  • @oldsagerat

Thanks for helping to clarify this.

I haven't figured out how to do the breathing method without inhaling smoke into my lungs. Inhaling through your nose with the pipe in your mouth - it seems inevitable. Is that just part of it? Thanks for the video!

Color me confused. Is this for people new to pipes who think they need to use a pipe like they do a soda with a straw. Just sucking and sucking and sucking until it’s done? I’m just trying to figure out how this is portrayed as something new in the pipe world. Yeah.. relax and breathe normal. Casually draw the smoke in and casually release.

Of course all of you do this method wrong because you all learned it from the same person.
