No prices won't explode, they will go down HARD. If cases are banned, Valve will have to provide skins in other ways, like buying them directly for a set price. So you can expect most skins to cost $10-$20 dollars for example in csgo market of sort, just like Valorant and League
@@iyoub6931 it could be many scenarios, but if this happend, old skins wouldnt be in shop, only new right? We could atleast hope old skins stayed the same

Yeah bro, I’m ngl I farmed that market and got out. One day they randomly added this feature where you can take your useless clothing drop items, scrap them into cloth, and then unbox crates with the scrap. I noticed this update instantly and started mass sending people trade offers like 1 csgo key for 50-150 “useless” h1z1 items. Scrapped them all, unboxed and sold items instantly. Infinite money glitch for the first day. Very soon after the game collapsed, bringing the skins with it.
It did happen already but to a much smaller degree. The 7 day trade hold back in 2017 along with valve stopping the release of operations almost killed the economy. As far as what could realistically kill CS's economy today, maybe an putting an end to cases? If valve us rebranding CSGO like the rumors suggest, it seems like a waste of time to go through all that trouble but leave something in the game that can still be scrutinized. Instead cases turn into collections and skins from that collection can be bought at a fixed price (only for new skins of course). Just a hypothetical thought in the worst case scenario.
Then you just have free drop cases. And then cases are worth more. Because they wouldn't require a key. Meaning they make a cut on a higher value item being sold far more often on their market. I would assume if they were doing that they would throttle drop to a point to maintain skin and case value. So probably less case drops. But if you got one you'd no longer need to pay a dollar to open it. I mean they could just do that do. But wouldn't unless they were forced out of fear of unsettling the market. But I mean apart from selfish reasons there isn't a reason of skin should artificially have to have a dollar put in to make them. And their system of trade ups would correct oversupply. Unless they only put out gold awful reds.
Valve released the least amount of skins and content in 2022 but still it was their most profitable year from csgo The people gambling on cases are only small part of the community Maybe all cases would crash in price and become 3 cents but skins will become very expensive especially the older ones with low supply
As a person living in china , (moved from Europe to continue my life blabla etc etc, using v.p.n to connect) ....csgo cases and other gamba will not be banned
The only thing Valve might do is make all items untradable. That would keep them in its own ecosystem, with virtually no real monetary value. People would still buy and sell on the scm and they would still open cases, capsules etc. At a much lower rate of course, but that'll ensure their protection from legal liability. They can milk the game without worrying about anything for as long as possible, then when the player base is low enough, stop the updates and let it die. This is the future I see. They got rid of the crypto, they'll get rid of the microtransactions too. The goal is to have absolute control over the money flow and prevent any "sneaky" tax evading schemes, international funds transfer and basically preventing people from saving wealth in ways that cannot be easily traced.
Imagine, that Valve makes all skins untradeable and only let you sell Items on scm. The only way to take your money out of steam would be buying game keys or... Buying fucking steam decks and selling them on 3rd party websites.this would be hilarious.
@@szmidutm8556 Since you can't trade them, you wouldn't be able to sell the keys though. And they could make it so you can't use steam wallet funds to purchase steam decks. No, they won't something which they make money from. They might stop making new content.

I think what he meant was that they get trade banned as well
I remember everyone mocking a dude who bought 20k of each 3 cent case years ago lol
it happened to H1Z1 aswell, had over 700 items . Inv probably worth around 3.5kUSD at the time. then they updated the game and everything went to shit

worst what scenario ?
If there is no more case opening all the existing skins will skyrocket in price because they would be hyper rare. New crypto in 2017 basically
