Yes I do agree. It is a fantastic instrument that conquered my adult life and soul. By Grace I got my own piano now, even if I first began learning as I was 67 ! … we are never too old to begin something, and get pleasure in it.

6:17 Oh, boy, the little yellow piano makes a cameo! Someday it will be in the Tiffany Poon Museum, but it's always nice to see it in Tiffany's videos now. The video clip of Tiffany playing the little yellow piano at four years old is one of my favorites. 🤗

I gotsa’ clunky mid-50s Baldwin Acrosonic upright…..started in my family….nephew had for awhile…’til he turned pro….jazz. Piano went to brother’s…tremendous amateur classical pianist….then back to my house..now retired, but with a stack of to learn pieces….nephew ended up with restored 1920 Steinway M. Loved to play at family get togethers….nothin’ sounds like a Steinway…..even with fumbly fingers 🍻
The fact that you still have that 4-keyed toy piano in your life (and still pay tribute to it's integral role in your virtuosic development) is both cute and precious.
It's lovely to hear your story Piano. I think we are all called on to fulfill odd duties at times, but I am glad your human treats you very well overall. You two make a great team and I am always glad to hear you sing together.

I have a cabinet grand that is over 100 years old. (Price and Teeple) It is a fundamental element of my household. I can relate to your appreciation.
Brilliant, Tiffany! You piano might not have parents, but it has thousands of ancestors, and one loving guardian. (When I was 14, I realised I could tell the sound of a Steinway from any other piano. Sixty years later, I can still do it.)

Can you post a link to that small handheld vacuum. It makes it so easy to clean the inside. I just purchased my first grand so it’s be nice to keep it as clean as possible especially with a dog that sheds
I just bought a Steinway, and I have now realized just how much dust is in my home despite daily vacuums/air purifiers/dehumidifiers. Do you recommend always covering when not in use?? I was going to by a nice string cover. My installer also told me not to vacuum it, and here you are lightly vacuuming! I've got doggies and dust and its stressing me out!

I remember Rostropovitch explaining a student ("masterclass") that he should take a walk, see people, interact with more people to know more about what kind of ears, or souls, or persons, he/she was playing for. Of course, Rostropovitch added, you need to do your practicing of scales and arpeggios ...
I think I need an easy start every day, some exercises or rather etudes, the musically challenging kind. Like Chopin's etudes - or if you have played them too much, there are Preludes (the most fantastic paintings of human characters, actually some say that Chopin preludes are sketches or caricatures of people he knew well) - then Moscheles, Liszt, or Haydn. BTW Bach has so many different settings to I never get tired of finding new music, he poured it out, like chorale-preludes also some for "manualiter" (no pedal) and early fantasies, made by the young Virtuoso Sebastian.
I have tried to learn prelude no. 8 for 10 years or more, and I begin to see how the hand must adapt. I love the progress. I think you could play that one in few sessions with the supple hands you have, moving the wrist so precisely.
It's very clear that you love your partner, I mean your Steinway Piano. It's true, some matches really are made in heaven.
