Best guy I ever saw take the mound. He was an icon, even then. A big fan, here !! Terry Mulholland reminded me of Steve Carlton as well, so I was a fan of him as well... Thanks for the great upload, chief !! 🚬😎👍
Correction: Carlton had two rings: Cardinals in '67 and Phillies in '80. He was also a 1x ERA leader; and career ERA was 3.22 Also; here is a comparison with a couple other greats: Randy Johnson: 5 Cy Youngs; 1 ring; 4x ERA leader; 3.29 career ERA Greg Maddux: 4 Cy Youngs; 1 ring; 4x ERA leader; 3.16 career ERA Koufax: 3 Cy Youngs; 3 rings; 5x ERA leader; 2.76 career ERA That said, as a 70 year-old lifetime Cards fan, the Carlton for Wise trade was the worst trade in Cards history.
@@ron88303 Steve Carlton was also with Minnesota Twins in 1987, and he got a World Series Ring along with the rest of the Twins. That makes 3 Rings for "Lefty" Carlton in his career. The Three World Series Teams Steve Carlton was a part of: 1967 St. Louis Cardinals 1980 Philadelphia Phillies 1987 Minnesota Twins As a Red Sox Fan, I can understand how you felt about getting Rick Wise for Lefty Carlton because you would later dump Wise on us(Along with Bernie Carbo) after the 1973 Season for Reggie Smith, one of our Big Bats. Smith would later prove to be a Big Bat with the Dodgers becoming one of the four Dodgers to hit 30 or more Home Runs in 1977.

Great video never saw it before....Lefty was so dominant in his prime at times he looked unhittable.
Three World Series Rings with Three Different Teams to go with his 4 Cy Young Awards.
There's no way you can top a career like that!
