I remember picking up the first vigilante 8 game mainly because I like the box art, and me and my cousin's we put this in and we were just mind blown the entire time, and pretty much we mainly just play the game just to destroy everything around everything could explode everything you crash through it we just want to see how much of what can we just destroy and each level lol. They need to do a remake or just a sequel to the game either start a petition start signing whatever but we need a new vigilante 8 game
this game made me despise game informer for their complete bias for twisted metal, they ripped this game and praised twisted metal. ive never read a single article from game informer since they reviewed this game so poorly
Yeah, I always liked Vig 8 series better for some reason, I just couldn't get into the Twisted Metal characters and the game wasn't as fun or as good looking to me. I remember when I first got the trial version of Vig. 8 through the PlayStation Underground and I just couldn't stop laughing while playing it for all the little details with the destruction as your car took damage and how most things were destructible. Kinda like the first Driver game. It was just hilarious the crazy accident physics at times, but many times the weird physics I used to my advantage when taking on the cop cars.
@@d.aardent9382 Yup the retro style of this game always reminded me of Driver 1, 2 & Parallel Lines. I remember playing V8 when it first came out and would always try to rent it from blockbuster but they would never have it in stock

Wheel of fortune and hades gate are my most favorite, because they both do lots of damage if you land the hits directly! p.s Boogie's disco inferno is very annoying...unless your the one using it =3
this was my most favorite non-story game on the psx. i loved the backroundstories of the chars, the gameplay and multiplayer and nice stuff they included in the world. way better than twisted metal. i wish so much they make a remaster of it.
Can we appreciate the fact that the physics and the weight shift on the vehicles are so real. This game was so ahead of its time. There hasnt been a game like it since. Storywise Twisted metal takes the cake but the gameplay was top notch and breakthrough

I hate most of their alternate designs after they're maxed out but Convoy, Dallas 13, Dusty Earth (which is Clyde's original vehicle with minor design change) and Bob O look pretty good. If they ever release remake version, they need to make it to can switch and all upgrades in the option on/off rather than being forced to have them after maxing any character out.
2:05 These two cars single-handedly made me cherish Vigilante 8 more than twisted metal. I LOVED hearing this quote and being able to hook cars and drop them in the water or get whammy combos. Not to mention the Semi truck was one of my fav cars to unlock as a kid and his special was basically the Old John torques special from the first game but knocks them horizontal. I just think the character specials in this game were way more fun than twisted metal and the whole upgrading car and the many different weapon variations (like cluster mine, gravity mine, hovering mine) made this more fun than twisted metal

Bus's special with black gas was the most powerful one if you just get your enemy behind you then you just hold ult till enemy dies and their hp drain fast, for light cars it takes 2 or 3 seconds and they gone
I wanted to unlock the special cars called "drifters" (don't remember well. I mostly remember the coyote and vigilant cars) but I never could =( despite that, my favourite car was bob o's moon trecker (the one that looks like a cae made to explore the moon) I totaled almost every opponent with it XD
