- Hello, friends! Welcome back to my channel One Blessed Mess for this video all about what we'll be using for my 10 year old Elijah's 5th grade year of homeschooling!

Thank you for sharing! My older is going into grade 4 and we will be using fix it grammar and level 4 TGATB. Glad to it’s not too overwhelming.
We have been using TGATB since day 1 as well. I am trying fix it grammar for my 4th grader this year!! Glad to hear you find it helpful.
I'm going to try doing TGaTB level 5 and IEW for my son as well. Interested to see how you schedule those!
I'm using almost identical curriculum for my upcoming 5th grader! I'm just letting Fix-It be his handwriting (making him do it in his best cursive) and I'm adding a separate spelling to TGTB 5. Otherwise we are curriculum twins. I'm eager to see what you are doing for family subjects. We are using MFW Creation to the Greeks. Hope you have a wonderful year!

Oh I love your line up for 5th grade. We are looking to add IEW for next year (5th grade) as well. We use TGATB but looking towards middle/high school and iEW and Saxon are on my radar. Great choices!!!
They are both such solid, time-tested options!!! I am so excited to have them this year! 💕

Christie, no need to buy reading books! In structure and style, Andrew Pudewa has listed and recommended rich literature that you can most likely find at your library. We are on week 11 and so far I was able to find all the books that were listed except 1!
Hi Christie! Just wanted to pop on and say that we’re doing the same exact thing as far as adding IEW to G&B language arts! My oldest daughters (going into 10th and now graduated), have use both Fix-it and Structure and Style in the past. My son has also used their themed writing courses (although he struggles with reading and spelling, he loved writing). So, my daughter and son will do the streaming structure and style and each have their own fix-it grammar as well (love the new layout with one sentence per day per page as well as the number of corrections listed)!

Hello! I'm a first year homeschooler! I'm helping my daughter homeschool her 2 little girls. We are doing Kindergarten and 1st grade. Your videos have been so helpful. We decided to start with the Good and the Beautiful for Language arts, math, and handwriting. We are doing the Around the world in picture books for geography, and science we went with the Exploring Nature with children, and we will do some other science experiments and science unit studies. Thank you for your informative videos!

Great picks mama! We are also adding in IEW for my very reluctant 5th grade writer and using TGTB. I’m hoping we find a schedule that isn’t too overwhelming for her. I’d love to hear how often y’all are planning on doing IEW! Hope you have a blessed year!! 💜

@@OneBlessedMess I would love to hear what schedule you end up with! We did Fix it Grammar and IEW last year for 4th grade. (I did it with my 3rd and two 4th graders together). They wanted to try TGATB ELA this year so I commited to trying unit one and then re-evaluating. I would love to do it all if I could, it just seems like too much!!

If I was going to utilize Nicole the math lady and her online grading should I still get the course book? And grading book?
Totally off topic but what I'm thinking of when this video starts...where do you live that you are wearing long sleeves???? I'm in Texas and we are day 5432 of 100* weather...so jealous!! LOL

Hi Christie! We are moving from NY to Indiana in October! I know HSLDA recommends you follow public school for subjects. Do you know where to find that information? Do you follow that and if not what subjects do you teach? My kids are going into 7th (almost 12), 6th (11 in Nov), kindergarten (5 yrs old).
The Indiana state education website should have a list of topics covered for each grade level! I also have a great book called Home Learning Year by Year that is super helpful!

Hi, I had a question if I wanted to add fix it grammar would I have to add iew structure & style as well or can I use fix it grammar by itself?
You can absolutely use Fix It Grammar by itself! I have done that:)
Do you recommend TGATB for religious purposes (are you Mormon)? Or for the curriculum set up?
I am a nondenominational Christian who just loves the content of the curriculum! :)
@@OneBlessedMess I too am a nondenominational Christ follower. TGTB does not, at all, teach on religion, it is so wholesome and great curricula. You don't have to worry about any fowl language or disrespect. I highly recommend it.
you need to move your ring light cuz its hard to look at your eyes cuz all i see is your ring light reflecting off your eyes
I tend to over buy items as well. As a matter of fact, I have items from my kids younger years still. I've been purging though...... almost there. 📘📙📗📎
