You're welcome!
Thank you for sharing and very delicious meals 😊
Have a great weekend 😊
Love and blessings from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
Thank you, Johanne!! Hope you are having a great week!
Those recipes looks 👌 my lv😊
Thank you so much!
Love these recipes. Ty for sharing.
Thank you for sharing! I love your kitchen and your stove! What kind of stove is that?
Thank you! It's an AGA!
We’re switching to a healthier lifestyle, what do you do if one of your kids doesn’t like the food. Do you give them options?
That's a great question! We typically just handle this by saying, this is what we are having and you can choose whether or not you'd like to eat it or not. Not in a mean way but I also don't make other food. We also don't do much snacking so that everyone is plenty hungry when meal times come! Thanks for watching!
@@FromScratchFarmstead Well put! I was raised very spoiled in that regard, but I am breaking out of old ways and adopting new. Thank you for paving the way for other homestead moms like me! I love your channel. It’s one of my favorites when I do have some free time. Thank you!!
I would always cook up 30 pounds of ground round with seasoning and freeze in small batches. I then could take one out to make tacos, casseroles that I added all lefts over to, pizza, etc. Every Sunday I made healthy sweet breads to freeze, had slower cooker, oven, and top of stove going with meals for the week. Fridays was left overs for my husband and oldest child while the younger ones waited for pizza.
30 lbs! Impressive!
This is a great idea!! Love these tips. Thanks for sharing!

Welcome.
I found that putting cardboard flat on the ground and then piling mulch on top of it works so well to stop weeds for years. That's what we did for our little urban farm.
Thank you for sharing!! Yes, we are going to need to start doing something similar!
Awesome and looks delicious 😋
Need to try these!! Your little one looking around to see what you're doing is adorable 🥰
Beautiful family and God bless! 💕
Thank you so much!! Have a great week :)
You amaze me with all you accomplish. I never knew about cooking and cooling the rice. Thanks for all the great meal tips. Val C
Isn't that so interesting?! Thanks for watching, Val!
Thank you for the info about rice!!
You're welcome!
I love seeing your boys playing imaginative games rather than vegging in front of a screen! Also how they help you in the kitchen or just bringing plates to the table is great! Thanks for the taco bowl idea and the info on precooking rice. I also like to put leftover rice in a freezer bag in my freezer because I can’t always use up rice fast enough and hate food waste. ❤
I'm a fan of freezing rice, too.
Freezing rice is a great idea! Sometimes we get sick of it if we have it too much so this is a good alternative. Thanks for sharing!
Weeds? I think you mean free chicken snacks!!!!! 😂🤣
Ha! Yes! Our cows have been loving every bucket load! 😂
Very nice ❤️ 👌 👍 👏 Thank you ❤️ Subscribed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I didn’t know that about cooking the rice and cooling it off , thank, you!😊
And it’s the same for potatoes too :)
I think you have to be careful to cool it quickly to avoid food poisoning
@@LifeWithMrsB
Yes! It really makes a difference.
You're welcome! Isn't it so interesting!? Thanks for watching!
I need to put down cardboard first pull all the tape off of it and make your paths with cardboard and then put 4 to 6 inches of mulch over top of it!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thankyou for sharing the info about the onzinated olive oil. My baby has persisent eczema since he was 2 months old. The gaps diet along with the cream you mentioned has done wonders❤
So glad you’re seeing good results! 😊❤️
what kind of stove is that? I've never seen anything like that before.
I know what you mean about being outside... every minute I'm inside feels like I'm stealing from the future or something lol
It's an AGA!! They are originally from the UK but you can find them in the US. We found ours used on facebook marketplace!
I'd love to know how to go about planning all of these meals. Do you sit down with all your recipe books and take the time to plan all the meals you will make in one day? Do you plan a day each week to make a bunch of meals? Or do you just wing it? I'd love some tips! Thanks!
That's a great question. I have a list of about 20 meal ideas that I know are winners with our family and the vast majority of our meals come from that list or a variation of that meal idea with the occasional trying something new. That makes planning fairy easy. I just think of what we have on hand or that needs to get use up or meals that we haven't had in a couple of weeks and make those. Hope this helps answer your question!
You are such an inspiration to me, please keep sharing❤
Aw! Thank you for this encouraging comment. I'm so glad these videos are helpful. Thank you for watching!
I’d love to see your Azure hauls!! Always looking for ideas 😊😊😊
She has one episode already!
Hi! We did this video. We just started with Azure a few months ago so I thought the comments on this were super helpful from people who have been shopping with them for years. I'm excited to do more in the future as we purchase more from them! ua-cam.com/video/xOfdzxI0qEk/v-deo.html
Your beef for taco bowls looked so yummy! What seasonings did you use?
Chili powder, with some cumin, paprika, oregano - whatever we have! :) Thanks for watching!
I’m trying to get away from using the microwave. How do you reheat your rice without it being hard?
I just add a little broth or water and heat it in the oven or stove top. Thanks for watching!
Hi, just happened across your channel! I love that stove and was wondering what kind it is? Is it wood burning? Btw…loved the video!
Thank you! It's an AGA. Unfortunately not wood burning - it run on gas but we love it!
@@FromScratchFarmstead it’s absolutely stunning 😍
I love your stove! What is it? I looked for a vidio on it but don't see one
Thank you! It's an AGA! Here's a link to the most recent video that we did that talks about how it works and how we use it :). ua-cam.com/video/9uswkkTAY6o/v-deo.html
My mother-in-law loves to take old newspapers and put grass clippings on top to help deter weeds
Thank you for sharing!
Great video and delicious food
Thank you!! :)
I love seeing an old normal refrigerator. When I bought my home it had all the appliances in it already. I would not have chosen Samsung products. I love my phone but wouldn't have bought my refrigerator or stove from them.😊
We love older appliances too :). That fridge was a $50 facebook marketplace purchase a few years back. It has served us well!
What kind of stove are you using?
I think it is called AGA.
Yes! It's an AGA. We have a few other video about it specifically :)
Oh my gosh! I got a kick out of the kiddos dueling!
Ha! We are in a Star Wars phase around here and there have been all sorts of battles :)
I’d suggest calling some of your local arborists and see if they could put you guys on a list to where if they’re in your area they’ll call and see if you’d like a load a wood chips. In our area, it’s completely free! We tried chip drop but never got a drop. We found calling the local arborist had a better success rate as we’ve gotten one load and were offered a second but declined. Hope this helps!
That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing!
I believe, I saw a "compost keeper" on your island/counter! How do you like it? I keep putting it in my Azure cart, but we are afraid it will start to stink (as silly as that sounds)
Hi! Yes, we have 2 there actually. One for regular compost and one for chicken scraps. We love them and have had them for years. The big thing is to take them out regularly, especially if it's warm outside to avoid bugs and smells. Thanks for watching!
It sounds like you've already heard of this method for weeds, but if you haven't heard of the documentary called Back to Eden Gardening, it's one of our favorites! The method worked wonders for weeds (as well as water retention and soil/organic matter replenishing!) for a several people I know in the midwest area.
Yes! Thanks for sharing this! Such a good method!
Peak a boo back at you!!
If ya'll can get a hold of leaves that make a good mulch and it helps keep the weeds out and adds nutrients to the soil .
Thanks for sharing!!
Love your channel… what in an inspiration you are
Aw! Thank you so much and for watching! We appreciate it!
