    Y’all gotta understand that Richard’s evaluation of wraths is dependent upon the fact that he never plays to the board with any important permanents until he boompiles/farewells on t8 while no one is attacking him the whole game lmao

      this is the most frustrating thing to me about richard's card evaluation. He never plays to the board early game and just spends all his time ramping and drawing cards in a wrath-proof way. In most pods, that should just result in you getting killed early because you have no defenses, but the clash gang just lets him get away with it. Then he wraths and plays his janky win con on a clear board (or often convinces someone else to wrath for him). You have to put pressure on a player like that.

You drop it, if the opponents don't deal with it immediately, it can start gaining you value throughout the game. If an opponent does deal with it, it's one less removal spell they have to deal with your other stuff. Besides, you could put Harvester into a self mill/reanimate deck.

      It makes sense for how Richard plays. He's optimized for flying under the other players' radars. Most people only see things on the board as threats. Lots of players don't understand that letting a combo player steadily draw cards is about as bad as letting an aggro player play a dozen creatures and hit face.
      So if you're a Richard, you sandbag all game, occasionally wiping to keep yourself alive and up in cards. Mostly, you want to say things like "hey guys, sorry, my hand is really weak, someone else has to take care of that or we all lose." Then, when every other player exhausts their resources and interaction, you dump your hand and win on the spot.

    Interesting consideration for the banner of kinship but you're forgetting you just bring back your weenies with raise the past.
    Unless they cast farewell I guess😅

    I think the howling mind effect on scrawling crawler is helpful and people will take way more damage because they want the cards and they wont kill it.

    The guys are always worried about not representing power, but take out combos from their decks because they don't want to win out of nowhere. Make it make sense.

      There is a middle ground between winning from a position of literally no on-board permanents and playing all of your pieces out immediately no matter what.

    • @mkosler
      @mkosler 14 днів тому

      @@lVideoWatcherl They are wanting to win from a position of no permanents. Listen to their discussion on the flash faerie. They compare it favorably against Leyline of Anticipation precisely because they don't have to show that they have the ability to win out of nowhere. Remove the obvious A+B combos from the discussion tell me how different the two strategies are.

    I think abyssal harvester is fun ... It can do powerful things like instant speed gravehate and reanimate think chainer decks .. It makes tokens of stuff that you can copy with hazel ... And you can put it under soul cauldron or hazels brewmaster ... I am pretty excited for it 😅 mostly for chainer cast it by discarding some valgavoth and with haste from chainer get the valgavoth 😊

    44:41 creating a second copy of Twinflame Tyrant would not work as an additional damage doubler since the ability is a replacement effect rather than a trigger (?)

    • @scaredycat3146
      @scaredycat3146 13 днів тому +1

      Almost all damage amplifiers are replacement effects. But that only means the affected player gets to choose the order they apply to them. (which is why you usually don't want to mix additive with multiplicative effects)

    High fae trickster seems really good. Potentially cEDH good.
    Neerdiv too can help you dig for interaction if you're doing a breach combo and someone is waiting to interact at a specific time.
    Blasphemous Edict, yea 2nd best boardwipe, but in Meren probably number over toxic deluge IMO.
    Scrawling crawler has already made it into some games in a Valgavoth deck and its punisher effect far outweighed the downside of giving away cards. Alongside other punisher effects its quite good.
    I also think Abbysal Harvester is far better than it was given credit. Its not just a reanimate effect, its graveyard hate first and foremost IMO. I dont think this is for aristocrats as much as you guys think either. It snipes problem permanents in opponents graveyards and can be used politically prior to a boardwipe to ensure something wont come back if that wrath is not exile based.

    Dionus has synergies with conjurer's closet, roaming throne, hardened scales, doubling season, proliferate, the ozolith and ozolith mkII- he is an elfball mana doubler and lord 2 in 1. I suspect he will make pEDH elfes a force to be reckoned with... and may receive the Erenis "kill on sight with prejudice" treatment.

    Loot is actually much more like Golos than Azusa. First ability which ramps, second ability which spends mana to look at the top few cards and get one for free. Obviously Loot restricts you to mono green, but that's increasingly not a downside.

    i think the crawler concept is a nice one but i agree it should be a bit more powerful. But i think they didnt because it is an upkeep trigger and we got a couple of effects that give you extra upkeeps so i guess tho avoid making it "too good" they had to limit the potential.
    I definitly put Twinflame Dragon into my Sarkhan Commander deck, quadrupling every dmg in the turn it entered sounds like a flying red scaly nightmare

    The main sticking point for banner of kinship over coat of arms to me is that, if you are playing the card properly, you should ONLY play it when you’re about to win the game. If you get stopped and your board gets wrathed, your opponents will 100% kill you if you have either artifact on the board. If COA is your best overrun, then Banner is your second best, and vice versa. Banner is probably solely better due to fog meta lmao. There’s no reason to run one without the other.

    Well that didn’t take long. I’ve started playing a game when it comes to the Goldfish crew, see how long into any given video it takes for someone to mention Farewell or Sunfall. The amount of free real estate these two card occupy in your collective minds is fascinating! lol
