First of all, hello :) . Lithuania has good vibes and I don't feel a wow-factor. Normally I have a good feeling last years with the winners. That's why. I reacted a little over the top with Romania. My bad. It can grow on me next weeks, we'll see with Romania. I personally also like Israel, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Iceland and Bulgaria. Lithuania is my nr. 11 at the moment, but it's very popular so there is a good chance to be in the Top 10.

Of course it's always nice if underdogs win, but I'm here to chose a song who has the most quality on each part (original, meaning, can he/she sing, is it radio friendly, etc.. ). It doesn't matter who wins absolutely but it needs to be the right one. :) One thing I'm sure: my country (Belgium) isn't top 15..

Bulgaria - most unlucky country in the history of Eurovision. And one of my favourites.
Poli Genova had a great, underrated song.
Kristian Kostov most likely would have won in any other year with his beautiful song but he lost to Portugal which had one of the best songs ever.
Now the win was almost certain. This is an absolute masterpiece. Only a disaster could take it away from Bulgaria.

For me, one of the highlights of this year is, Romania and Bulgaria are unintentionally knitting together a beautiful two-part story.
Romania's "Alcohol You" is about the confusion and heartbreak caused by a bad relationship or breakup, and the drunken / irrational state you're in, where, even though you've been hurt, you have a hard time cutting yourself from the person hurting you, so you keep on clinging to the relationship, and hope that this time it will actually work.
Bulgaria's "Tears Getting Sober" comes with the catharsis, the release from all of that confusion and pain, and the realisation that "My pain will soon be over" and "In time my wound will be a scar". No more clinging to pain - it's time to take care of the self, forget the past, and let go.
Heck, even the song titles show the contrast and journey present in the songs!

Another thing that I like is, "Alcohol You" ends with "I will call you when I'm strong", which tries to inject some hope that things will get better, but happiness is still perceived as depending on the other. However, in "Tears Getting Sober", as it happens in life as well, achieving that "strength" has the opposite effect, so instead of wanting to re-connect, you end up finally seeing things from a healthy perspective.
The path to getting over someone and getting them back is one and the same.
