No we were planning to do waterfall but my buddy forgot his bottle cage so he ran out of water after chutes. We climbed up Mountain Goat and I saw parts of Waterfall and it definitely looked fun and steep.
Made the right choice staying on line at that jump. I changed my mind last second and ended up catching my pedal on that rock and breaking my wrist there in February. Oaks is my top spot since it's easy to get to. Aliso a close second but quickly becoming a favorite as I explore more trails. I don't shuttle so the switch back climbs and multiple technical downhills make Oaks one of a kind. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to the trails after this fire.
Adam Marino Oaks is cool but I wished they have more trails. Chutes is super fun. Aliso is my favorite place to ride in OC it has so many trails than Oaks. It has some really gnarly trails too. I hope the trails are ok after the fire as well
Hey Adam I'm new to OC. My bro and I are ex racers wanting to try chutes. Do you where we could drive to drop in and then where the bottom is so we could shuttle?
Was up there 6 consecutive days last week, Mon-Sat. Wanted to do a 100mi week. All in the late PM hours tho. I would do Puma before heading over to climb either 3Bs or Chutes.
Long story short: I work early mornings, off by 3pm so I have time to hit it after the peak heat of the day and ride back with a cool sunset in the background. Also, hit you up on Strava haha
You ride at the Oaks?! Hell yeah dude thats my local trails. It's a shame you couldn't do waterfall that day, that trail is so fun and scary at the same time lol.
Start from Santiago oaks regional park parking lot and into the wilderness trail. Then you go up a big and hard to miss wooden stair case. Once up the stairs go left and keep climbing up until your at the top.
I actually climbed the B's, did Hawk a second time then climbed to the flag, did Deer loop and hit Chutes out. I ride there and SS all the time if you want to smash laps, always good to ride with new people.
Hey sorry to butt in but my brother and I are new to OC and were wanting to to Chutes. Do you guys know how we could shuttle it...drop in point and ending?
Oaks is always a good time. Have you tried waterfall/Mountain Goat?

Climb up oak, turn left on edition ridge, and ride barham ridge til you find it

How do I get to Santiago Oaks Trail? And where do I start from?
It really depends on where you live. Just search Google for directions
