      Thanks for this testing lad, lots of people may be interested in this. I for one like my Wraith Prism's looks better than virtually any other sub-$200 AIO or cooler, which means I may not feel like getting that pricey new cooler immediately. (even though, let's be honest, it's kinda cheap and dumb to run it without a massive tower or AIO). I just like the Prism's looks honestly, it legit looks better than just about everything.
      OH I almost forgot to ask you, do you think these coolers would work well on an undervolt rather than default boost behaviour?

    Great video, though guys keep in mind that this been done on open bench and with tiniest gpu you could get, in closed case and with beefy gpu, which i assume you would be running if you have 5950x money, the temps should be significantly worse. I know you probably wont do this in closed case and good gpu but it would be way more realistic use case and interesting test.

    • @PCTechHustle
      @PCTechHustle  3 роки тому +3

      You are correct, a closed system with additional running components will generate more heat, however the idea here was to ONLY show how well particular coolers perform with no other contributing factors to get the most baseline information. In regards to GPUs and enclosures / cases, that will vary quite a bit.

      Ran a TMG A1 for many years. Grabbed a Hyper 212 so that my daughter could use my 9900k. She is running 4.8Ghz and does not cross low 80s. CPU is mining monero 24/7 when she isn't using the PC. The TMG A1 has been running my Phenom II X6 1090T for a few years and it won't go past 60c at full load. It's about to get swapped to an old box cooler, and the TMG A1 is going on a 3900X I just grabbed to add to my hashrate. I honestly think the TMG A1 from Thermaltake back in 2007 I think it was, is the long lost twin of the Hyper 212. I just looked it up on google for the first time in years and can't find any wattage info on it because we weren't that smart back then... lolz

    I just bought a PC with a 5950x and Thermaltake TH120 AIO, both of which I swapped into my main PC. I was playing a VR game last night (in which I was rendering anywhere from 50-80 people's avatars in large worlds) and my CPU temps were sitting around 206-208 degrees. I took the side panel off my PC and temps dropped to around 180 degrees. I'm thinking of swapping the Vetroo V5, that I was using to cool my previous CPU (3900x) and getting around 180 degrees in VR with, back into my main PC to cool the 5950x but I'm not sure it will be better than the AIO (and I can only fit a 120mm AIO in my case).

    Running a 5900x on an artic freezer esports duo and on full load with no overclock it quickly gets up to 85c then after about 6 hours it's starts bouncing off the thermal limiter at 90c....... its a shame because I used the same cooler on the 3600 and it held a significant overclock and never went above 69c on full load.
    I think it might be because the surface area of the cooler isn't very big so it might not actually be fully touching the important parts of the 5900x but I'm just speculating.

    I see so that's what's been happening with my Cinebench results. I had 360AIO which I removed in favor of Noctua Nh U12-A but after this I started getting much lower scores in Cinebench and wierd thing was with each run scores get even lower. Air cooling and Cinebench don't mix well I guess as Blender Benchmarks are doing great. Geekbench is also good. CPU boosts to 5.50 ghz normally though.

    I have the ml240l v2, but honestly it didnt cool much better than my single tower air cooler. still, for the aesthetic, it is quite nice. Tip for beginners, learn to undervolt. you will be able to reach those 4.6-4.8ghz frequencies while staying much cooler.

      Very good point here. Undervolting absolutely will lower temps without losing performance if done properly. My only negative to it is, it’s not super beginner friendly if a thing to do or people may simply not feel comfortable. However if you are willing to it’s a good way to reduce those temps for free!

    Minha placa uma MSI MPG X570 GAME PLUS ontem chegou aos 99°C e o processador um Ryzen 9 5900X com um whater cooler 360mm da Rise Mode fica com 93°C e acho muito para um whater cooler.
    Eu iria voltar a usar o AMD Prism que gera um fluxo de ar nos VRM coisa que o whater cooler não gera.
