Just a few observations. Some say she is lying. Well if there is no truth to what she is saying, why take the risk of speaking out. Many societies have gone through changing times. Culture is dynamic and as such is subject to change. Don’t forget most African countries are patriarchal and what she said, there may be truths to it. If you comment to just make your country feel good, you might be deceiving yourself and not focusing on real issues. Her demeanor and speaking out might suggest otherwise but women all over the world 🌍 preach almost same messages. Women in USA 🇺🇸 voice out that they are paid less than Men even in same field and currently most will show their objections but data suggests there is truth to that. Most Somali mothers are self employed she isn't doing anything great or out of the ordinary. The impression I got from watching the video is that she didn't say she is being prevented from doing what she wants to do. She didn't even reference any law that would punish a woman for attempting to make a difference in society. Rather, she said women are discouraged from following their dreams and accomplishing their goals. WHAT is weird in 2021 with the technology that she only has one sewing machine. She is smart and unable to make a living because of a male dominated society based off European adopted religion. Think if all of African men and women were equal in the ability to produce good and services? WHAT is weird is that you import good to your country and the profit leaves your country while your country men and women live in poverty. Have you seen how your colonizers live? Just a few observations. Some say she is lying. Well if there is no truth to what she is saying, why take the risk of speaking out. Many societies have gone through changing times. Culture is dynamic and as such is subject to change. Don’t forget most African countries are patriarchal and what she said, there may be truths to it. If you comment to just make your country feel good, you might be deceiving yourself and not focusing on real issues. Her demeanor and speaking out might suggest otherwise but women all over the world 🌍 preach almost same messages. Women in USA 🇺🇸 voice out that they are paid less than Men even in same field and currently most will show their objections but data suggests there is truth to that. The impression I got from watching the video is that she didn't say she is being prevented from doing what she wants to do. She didn't even reference any law that would punish a woman for attempting to make a difference in society. Rather, she said women are discouraged from following their dreams and accomplishing their goals.
