tbf at the time i think dream theory was right, especially from todays view even tho i hated it back then, a lot of references and clues point towards it, especially since how story changed going forward after Sister location and all the loopholes that were left
@@stefan.marsenicc He wanted to end the series at 3 so im almost certain 4 was that last desperate attempt to end it all but because of the popularity he probably changed his mind last minute so removing easter eggs and "the box" wouldve been too much for the time he decided to take that decision back
Same. I'm tired af so I was somewhat struggling to pay attention to what he was saying, and my mind kept saying, "Dude, what the hell are you doing with that big ass pizza?"
My only guess why chica would remove her beak was because the engineers needed a way to access her interior. And chances are the toy chica was a broken one.
@@tinkah if ur talking about the chica toy in fnaf 4 whose beak had fallen off. It was a clue for dream theory. Basically everything in fnaf 4 has been retconned. Since the original purpouse of fnaf 4 was to be the last game that would confirm dream theory. He retconned it all. Basically.. very little of fnaf 4 is canon anymore
Anyone else very annoyed because they spent 10 min watching a player struggling to take a gigantic pizza slice somewhere, for them to only put it above a random table? I WAS EXPECTING MORE😭
Never in my 10 years of watching theories on fnaf have I simultaneously witnessed someone say the same points that I had believed for years and say new points that I completely agree with. Great work man, please keep making more theories
After 10 minutes of watching this I am curious about one thing why the hell is mangle just in some kids bedroom I mean I guess William could have made it for Elizabeth but why is it torn apart? William just threw one of his broken robots into his daughter's room
@@Takejiro24 yeah but as he said in the video there's mechanical parts to it then again that might be why Elizabeth and William aren't at evans birthday party because Elizabeth probably hurt herself on the sharp metal when she was tearing it apart

its always wild to me that people turned so hard on the bite of 87 clip, i think given what mark knew that was a pretty awesome connection to make and genuinely not a bad call until people put together more pieces
True, but it seemed a bit obvious, no? On the television during the minigames, it showed something like "freddy and friends 1983". Eh, maybe he just didnt pay attention.
@@triliner254 You have to wait a long time in that room for that to happen. It’s an easter egg that most people don’t ever notice in game. It only seems obvious because every theorist puts it in their video. Seriously, man? It’s not a lack of paying attention, these games are cryptic as hell.
okaay new crack theory on the whole "dont ask why they are wearing shorts in november". the fnaf 4 minigame really looks like summer to me, fnaf 2 phone guys calls it a new "summer job" despite the cheques being in november. This also includes the steam description of the orignal game saying "new summer job" despite also based on the cheques taking place in november. Anyway the theory is that in the fnaf universe summer is in november.
@OneBoss118 you see the issue with that is that the fnaf 2 location was only open for "a few short weeks" so why would they even have summer job in the script if it was never open then (I could see I guess summer job being slang for the type of job but it is unsatisfying)
I totally believe that Scott himself doesn't really know his own lore anymore, not because he's stupid (Like you implied kind of passive agressively critics of the lore call Scott) , but because the story he wanted to tell is just too convoluted and him changing his mind multiple times didn't help.
12:17 okay I know this is kind of a dumb point but fredbear and Friends doesn't sound like a restaurant name every other restaurant in the series has been called something where you can clearly know it's a pizza restaurant like fredbear's family DINER or Freddy fazbear's PIZZA there is nothing pertaining to food or restaurants in that name
When he was talking a out how the year was 1982 and the 1983 was a date on an advertisement. I thought "oh, so then it's likes trailer for a show or movie coming next year." But i guess that wasn't the point?
This is honestly my first time thinking of it as anything other than a children's cartoon. That's what I always assumed it was. A children's cartoon about the characters from the diner.
@@maxgaming_1280 i always assumed it was a show (like the freddy and friends animations that came out around SB) but i guess at some point my brain just accepted that every theory was about it being a specific location in 1983, to the point I forgot that originally the theory was that it was a cartoon.
I think the retcon was just as simple as Mike Schmidt and CC became Aftons. I think we were supposed to figure out that Mike and CC were brothers in this game and no one figured that out even with Scott pointing us in that direction during the GT Livestream. Sister Location outright confirming we were always playing as Mike was like a big neon sign saying "this was the story, guys!"
@@CharaViolet Yeah, what if CC's sister was originally supposed to be Charlie and died in 1982 to possess the puppet, maybe even talked to the crying child in the form of the fredbear plush at one point too. Then when sister location released, it might have split CC's sister into two characters, Charlie who isn't in CC's family anymore and Elizabeth who is now the actual sister of CC
honestly, I think that the toy animatronic references in FNAF 4 were actually meant to support the original dream theory but since that was changed, they just sit as some weird detail that just might be an easter egg
Yea was remembering about the dream theory when watching, where Fnaf 1,2,3 were in le head and 4 was the kid having the dreams and was influenced by the toys and the masks his brother and friends wore. But people hated it so maybe that's the retcon. Also that's why 4 is called "The Final Chapter".
I'm a utahn and it can be pretty hot in November sometimes. Especially in the south of the state. Plus wearing shorts in the winter is a stereotype we joke about here.
I think it's worth noting woth the Halloween connections that FNAF 4 was originally set to release on Halloween. Scott just released it months early because he considered it ready for release.
That is super interesting to think about. If 1982 was originally going to be important to the lore, I do wonder if this is the retcon Scott mentioned or not. But yeah, I really enjoyed this video. Awesome work! Also, I love how in the background footage, you’re just messing around with the pizza inflatable in SB lol.
others think the retcon was dream theory. Scott might have retconned more than stated, as not to make the community think he doesn't know what he's doing.
I feel like this has something to do with how everything inside of the Halloween update was uncannon except for nightmare bb or whoever it was that he said was cannon
@@cocoamarsh I am 99.99 percent sure that Scott never said that because I’ve never heard that in my life, also they just wouldn’t make sense to be there because they fit with the toys a lot more than the originals.
What you said is real. I stopped caring about the FNAF story after I noticed that he keeps changing it all the time and following many theories that fans create. In short, it has no fixed story and the game was supposed to end in fnaf 3. Right now it's just playing random stuff and letting players create theories.
the main problem with the story of the game, that it's not only Scott that messed up few times, but also the fandom creating many false theories that didn't make sense at all yet people believed they're true, both sides failed to tell this story properly, that's why there are many holes even in old part of the story before Steel Wool
Well it seems Scott has molded the franchise around what the public perceives it as, so perhaps seeing as this year was not thought to be important by the community for years he just dropped it?
one thing i loved about fnaf was finding out matpat solved fnaf on a stream where he deduced everything was a dream, scott gave some evidence, it basically was true, and the fanbase raged so hard at the idea that he literally completely averted it, locked away the box, and said "some things are best left forgotten"
I think the date 1982 may be related to the stage 01 mini-game from FNaF 3, where one child disappeared. In this mini-game, Fredbear are shown without his purple accessories, instead, he has a brown hat and a black bowtie. Perhaps after this incident, the diner was slightly redesigned, and the purple color was added to the brand identity. Heck, maybe that hair sticking out from the suit in the parts & service room is actually that child from the stage 01 mini-game. But it's just the assumption.
I honestly believe the toys and toy animatronics were the crucial lead to the dream theory but when Scott saw that most people hated that, he changed it
Guys Hear me out What if 1982 is still important? Or most likely made important recently What if 1982 is the year the gas experiments started? It would tie with Fnaf 4, the modern lore and Dittophobia, bringing back some sparkles from the discussions of the past Although I haven't read the story myself, from what I've seen the date of start of said experiments wasn't mentioned, so it could be a cool little nod that wouldn't affect the lore that much and also not generate much debate Maybe 1982 being the year the experiments started could explain the fear CC has of the animatronics, but any date before his death would fit that role anyways
That's a good theory, and it could have merit, I would love to see a video on this piecing together Dittophobia and 1982. It might answer some questions that have been around for years.
If you want Fnaf 4 explained I will just explain it The CC was the nightguard from Fnaf 1-3 that was resurrected after his supposed death and the box contained evidence of this but out of fear of finding out for sure he was resurrected he decided to keep it buried Scott realized people didn’t get this out of being too vague so he try pushing that Fnaf 4 involved CC being a robot to get people into that mindset
you lot really need to up your game. i keep hearing everyone complaining: "oh i couldn't pay attention because of the pizza" THE PIZZA IS AN ESSENTIAL PIECE OF THE 1982 LORE. i could pay attention to both simultaneously because it is VERY important.
You were actually on to something see Charlie in the books was taken in Halloween 1982 by William in FredBear’s but her body was found in 1983 where she was pronounced unalived -so no the CC and Charlie’s unaliving are a year apart hence why I think Psychic Friend Fredbear was the Puppet and the CC saw Charlie’s death And if you didn’t know the pizzeria simulator pizzeria is the same location in Fredbear’s(Security Puppet minigame confirms it) So the posters for Spookfest could be alluded to that
Well you see in the novels Charlie was kidnapped in Halloween of 1982 but was found dead in 1983 So maybe to say Spookfest was 1982 and Fallfest was 1983 Also the pizzeria in Pizzeria simulator was the same one Charlie was unalived in(hence why the same alley appears in Security puppet)
"Because fans clearly know more about the lore that the author" unironically, yes lmao You can like something while also admitting that the author was making stuff up as he went and sometimes forgets or want to change stuff that he wrote before
Nice video. I've thought for years about how the community moved on from 1982, or labelled it as a mistake on Scotts part, so quickly in the early days of FNAF 4. I assumed it was gonna lead to some kind of lore drop, like how that one newspaper clipping about the Toddler Snatching has November 1, 1982 but the year is just kind of something that's there.
My personal theory for the mangle toy is that Elizabeth was a smart kid, and she took some parts from William and tried to make her own animatronic to please him... It didnt really work out, but William took inspiration from it. But thats just creative thinking, it was probably for the dream theory that was retconned.
Edit: for anyone reading in the future: CC is confirmed (basically) to be Dave/David. If you want clarification then I’ll put it in replies for you. Anyways, original comment: one thing that peeved me about this theory is the fact that you called CC Garret. The thing is, he is undoubtedly not Garret in the games, because like, just because we get a name doesn't mean we get that name to be consistent. Think Fnaf mci kids, Susie is the only universal constant (for some reason lol). If you want a name for Crying Child, i'd suggest Cassidy Afton. It's a whole explanation I'll give here: Cassidy is not the vengeful spirit who also resides inside of Golden Freddy alongside Crying Child, you can still follow dual possession theory and believe that Cassidy isn't their name. We're not really gonna talk about dual spirit or possession or whatever theory, what's important is the security logbook. The security logbook features 3 things, Michael, CC, and one other character. CC talks through altered text, the other character talks through faded writing, and Michael just directly writes/draws in the book. Altered is asked by Faded what their name is which leads to a series of page numbers being altered into a wrong number, using these as coordinates into the word search we get the name Cassidy. You should already know this if you know about dual spirit theory, the problem is everyone attributed that name to Faded for some reason... In the same word search, we see in altered text the words "It's me" and "what is your name". It's: Saying it's name, confirming its name, and asking for Faded's name. Another point of evidence for this is that Michael actually writes one of the coordinates in for Altered, Michael would have to know the name of whoever it is if he could be able to help. Anyways, just call the guy CC, Garret is like the new Evan atp.
I feel like 82 would have been when the toy animatronic pizzeria opened since the girl having all of her "new" toys and showing them of, and that one fat kid dressing up almost like balloon boy as if the restaurant was new and had just opened about a year ago, and with the toys having the play features could just be that chicas beak falls of sometimes during shows and try to play it off as a feature same with mangle. But this could be the retcon we didn't notice.
It’s so weird looking back on that days now especially as am OG fan. Scott gave us so many thing to consider as hints that back then we took every little thing as a thing that meant something important and we should consider as groundbreaking. But now….? A lot of fnaf 4 stuff has been mostly forgotten, sure the toy chick beak occasionally comes back but most are forgotten about
1982 can be a clue to fredbear's family diner's creation that can be in late 1982 and the start of 1983. or, the fredbear's concept and creation in 1982 before the release of the restaurant in 1983. everything lines up to one specific detail
What if fnaf 4 took place in south America? Because here, when it's november, it's summer and really hot. So thats the explanation to why they're wearing those kinds of clothea
Imo, when 4 first came out, the place we see in the game was actually supposed to be a second FFD, reopened after the original's closing in 1982 after Charlie's death/disappearance. This being why the year showed up in the book and teaser "simultaneously", and why it specifically first appeared in the hat teaser which was mirroring 3's previous "goodbye" image (so, it was supposed to be a "FFD closed down in 82, and the hat was picked up again). Charlie dying would have been the source of the apparent paranormal aspects of the game and the rumors about the anims, and probably related to/be what BV saw. But then Scott shifted Charlotte's death year by 1, and made it so BV's death (not the bite, seeing as 4 implies he was actually alive and taking some pills and stuff some time after the bite) happened during Fallfest but shortly before Halloween, putting both deaths in a very short stretch of time, and associating them both with the same ¿holiday?. Dunno about the toys tho. I think the toy chica thing might literally just mean that that little girl *is* Susie, and that was Scott's way to try and tell us that BV knew the MCI kids and was related to 3's minigames (Toy Chica's minigame specifically unlocks Susie in HD, and the little kid looks like her). Ft. Foxy and BB seem to have existed way before 2 tho, what with them being referenced in Fallfest stuff (they both have wooden masks in CoD and are carousel characters), so those 2 don't really stand out that much anymore ig. Mask is weird tho.
Yeah my only issue with Charlie dying in '82 is that she died at FFP, and it opened in 1983 as seen on some tokens. However that could be referring to a secondary location that was opened after one closed down.
The official lorekeeper of FNAF, Cole, stated that 1982 was the year they created Freddy and Bonnie, who went unused until 1983 along with foxy and Chica, who were created and legally bought respectively that year.
@@sketchstevens5859 well he's been helping with the FNAF lore since FNAF 3, but he wasn't designated as official lorekeeper until he was hired by steel wool during the development of help wanted.
@@SomePerson_Online I've literally already said where the info comes from. 1978 was when they opened the restaurant, 1982 was when they started making the main floor as side characters to appear alongside the spring locks. They were fully implemented in 1983.
I had a thought the other day, rewatching MatPat play HW2 What if David Murray’s death was/is the earliest death in the series/universe? Why can the Marionette/Security Puppet fly out of the restaurant to hug/fuse with Charlie?… We know David was “immortalized” in the Mimic’s program, his behavior snd mannerisms persist on in the Glamrock Animatronic Band, the Glitchtrap Program/‘virus’, and even in the Mimic itself… But what if his spirit could’ve attached itself to an early version/prototype of the Puppet-a JESTER-like character that had to exist in 1983, but maybe even earlier as well…
Honestly now I’m convinced fnaf 2 was either during fnaf 4 or before because if this isn’t a dream then how does mangle exist and how does a random child know what toy chica looks like in the night? Or if this is supposed to be a game within the fnaf universe why did in universe Scott make these decisions what story is it telling? The whole “chica’s beak” thing is such an odd detail because only the night guard would know what night chica looks like?
all those references were probably related to Dream Theory, where everything in the games was imagined by the Crying Child in a coma, but of course Dream Theory doesn’t work anymore I’d say that those little Easter Eggs don’t matter to the full story anymore and you should just ignore them
@@PurposefullyCringe that doesn’t answer my question tho why does a random child know what night chica looks like something only the night guard would know
@@IMosuGoji problem is you can’t just ignore them it’s never retconned without a direct response telling us to ignore it it’s all relevant until specifically stated
@@IMosuGoji actually I’m not sure dream theory even works, like how would cc know what something in the future looks like? It’s way too specific of a detail
It’s borderline canon ngl. Seems like the foxy puzzle is gonna be Faded text’s name and the altered text (who is basically just confirmed to be Crying Child) is Cassidy
@@IHaveAqInMyNameit is not borderline canon, if cc was cassidy he’d have to get bit in 83 and survive 2 more years to die in the mci which is impossible because we hear a flatline at the end of fnaf 4. also cassidy would have to be a boy and this dosnt work because every depiction of her character is female and genders never change across stories and games
@@cocoamarsh literally everything you just said is incorrect. First of all, Crying Child = Cassidy does not mean Crying Child = The Vengeful Spirit. It does not mean that CC has to be a part of the MCI It does not mean that we changed a characters gender. Cassidy can and used to be used for a guy’s name. And even still, a lot of the UCN animatronics refer to the vengeful spirit as a he. In the FNAF Security Logbook, we misattributed the name of Cassidy to the person who talks in faded writing (Assumed to be The Vengeful Spirit) when it is infinitely more likely to be the Crying Child’s name. This changes nothing about the timeline. It just gives us a name which we gave to someone else by accident. If you’d like me to explain: The puzzle that we do to get the name Cassidy uses clues given to us by Altered text (The other spirit in the logbook, thought to be Crying Child), and the way we get it is by plugging in numbers into a word search to spell out Cassidy. The letters we get aren’t written in, they are altered. Meaning this was a clue for ALTERED aka Crying Child. Michael Afton also literally writes in one of the coordinates for us on one of the pages, which would only work if he knew the name of the child who was trying to communicate. Good try, but you gotta realize I wasn’t talking about 2 characters being one and the same, but that we misattributed the name. The vengeful spirit’s name is most likely hidden in the foxy puzzle in the Security Logbook To anyone reading late, this theory has been confirmed wrong with Dave/David being the name of the Crying Child
perhaps Toy Chica's beak is removable from the animatronic for maintenance purposes, instead of say taking off the whole head shell, if the problem is only near the front of the jaw then just remove the beak for a better access point and fix that way instead of taking the whole head shell off for no reason, risking dust and other things getting into the gears and joints and other tech inside the head
I entered on the fandom during Silver eyes release and in all of this years I never saw 1982 being mentioned. Maybe it was an underground theory that is why died so fast?
I have to say I really miss the pre-book/pre-world lore discussions. Could just be me being an old man but the fnaf games have really lost their ARG and horror aspect with the heavy books aspect. Lots of the mystery is just lost and u miss it.
Somebody is possessing the Marionette BEFORE Charlotte dies in 1983. Retroactively, David Murray makes sense as the first death. His death even fits the Take Cake minigame. He was outside, playing with a ball and the Mimic. His father, Edwin, worked with/at Freddy’s. David was hit by a car. The child outside of the playable area in *Take Cake* is hit by a car, then the first Purple Man sprite of the series/franchise is seen, EVER. Then the guy drives off, almost like a hit and run… What if this isn’t William Afton in *Take Cake* ??? *”WHAT IS SEEN IN SHADOWS IS OFTEN MISUNDERSTOOD BY A CHILD.”* Purple was chosen SPECIFICALLY to represent a person in the shadows, yes, but later given to Michael Schmidt after he rots. We didn’t see William Afton kill a child-especially since the hit-and-run doesn’t fit with William’s MO. Hell, the closest we come to a hit and run-like scenario is Susie’s dog. 🤷♂️ Toy Chica’s attempts to get a “boyfriend” in High School Years (UCN) get crazier and crazier each time, but never include a car of any sort. Plus, it helps the “SAVE HIM, SAVE THEM” make MORE SENSE.
@@thisaccountisnotinuse Exactly. I think we should START with the movie--and the 2 VR games--since they're the newest installments, then SB & RUIN. With only these few things, you can actually build a fairly strong foundation for the early years of "Freddy FazBear's". But we ALSO need to erase Game Theory's major timeline from the minds of the Community-according to them, we will NEVER be right. (One detail that helps explain some of the issues with the game/fan ideas, is that Henry and William aren't just random people who met each other and started working together... They grew up together, maybe as neighbors, or even as friends. When they grow up, they marry the other man's sister, because of how close their families are.)
*"Charlotte Emily"* is the ONLY character to be presented with the name "Emily" in the ENTIRE series, until one of the PizzaPlex short stories--Henry's name was NEVER revealed. However, I'm like 97% sure we're going to learn in Movie *2* that Mike's dad IS named Henry. SPECIFICALLY, "Henry Schmidt"... But then we already also know the name of the Aunt/Mother of the infamous "Mrs. Afton". (Kind of?) Since Henry's sister in the books is called "Aunt Jen"; she is NOTHING like "Aunt JANE" in the movie... So, Jen/Jennifer(?) Schmidt & Jane Afton (before marriage) sounds about right. But even Vanessa was born LONG before William dies? I keep getting comments from confused children about how it DOESN'T make sense Afton had a kid "after" he dies??? Vanessa is described as being in her 20's~ in the movie, at minimum she was born around 1979~1981. Elizabeth dies in 1983, along with 2 other kids--AFTER the death of David in 1982. Charlotte is the last kid who dies in 1983; on Halloween night. (The other 3 at this points aren't murders; just terrible accidents. Charlotte could've been intentionally fed chocolate and that's why she was outside? Or she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time?...)

Im going to be honest you're making the theory that Scott changed the bite of 87 last second to 83 look so bad. I wanna clarify that no one who made that original theory was calling Scott stupid.
Yeah. I'm not saying Scott is dumb or anything when I make the point that he definitely changed what FNaF 4 was about. I think he got so wrapped up in making that game about the bite of '87 that he forgot his own lore about the real bite of '87 (it happens during/just after FNaF 2), and when he realized his mistake, he changed it last second. It's pretty much undeniable that he was teasing the bite of '87 when he was releasing the teasers "was it me?" is obviously talking about the mystery where the animatronics did something, the only mysteries we knew of, were the bite of '87 and who killed phone guy. And then you look in the source code and see all of the 8s and 7s. Gee what other mystery where an animatronic did something is also significant to the numbers "8" and "7"? It doesn't make any sense to tease some random ass new mystery like this for "The Final Chapter" which is what FNaF4 was supposed to be. But he clearly realized his mistake before the game came out, and now we have two bites (which is silly, but oh well)
Despite what Scott has said himself, he has retcon many things.. but after doing some further research at 100% understand why 87 had to become 83. it broke the timeline, so he fixed it.. kinda

Similar to Charlotte's last name being revealed in the Silver Eyes Trilogy, Henry's last name was revealed to be Emily, this is because of Charlotte's grave having her name be Charlotte Emily, and wouldn't it be a bit strange to you for a daughter to not have her own dad's last name?

okaay new crack theory on the whole "dont ask why they are wearing shorts in november".
the fnaf 4 minigame really looks like summer to me, fnaf 2 phone guys calls it a new "summer job" despite the cheques being in november. This also includes the steam description of the orignal game saying "new summer job" despite also based on the cheques taking place in november.
Anyway the theory is that in the fnaf universe summer is in november.
maybe it takes place in australia?
😆
Okay it is now canon that FNAF 4 takes place in Australia
fnaf takes place is australia confirmed
@OneBoss118 you see the issue with that is that the fnaf 2 location was only open for "a few short weeks" so why would they even have summer job in the script if it was never open then
(I could see I guess summer job being slang for the type of job but it is unsatisfying)
I mean _I_ wear shorts and tshirts in WINTER
I was legitimately more invested into finding out what you were doing with the pizza than the actual topic of the video
I had always thought *the* retcon was splitting the crying child and charlie as two seperate characters instead of the same
I think it's actually splitting CC's sister into Charlie and Elizabeth (and, in turn, re-orienting lore events to match this change)
@@CharaViolet that's actually a really good point, I never thought about that lol
Why would they be the same??? The puppet child's death was shown in FNAF 2, CC and puppet child had completely different deaths
19:53 that's because according to FNaF 2, November is canonically a summer month. Utah is just in the southern hemisphere in the FNaF universe I guess
Somehow, in a twist of fate, this is due to a drastic error in daylight savings time
FNaF1's Steam description also mentions it being a summer job. Summer doesn't seem to be literal in this case, as weird as the phrasing is.
I'm a utahn and it can be pretty hot in November sometimes. Especially in the south of the state. Plus wearing shorts in the winter is a stereotype we joke about here.
Utah and the rest of the Western USA in general can still be fairly hot in the winter so it's not to crazy to say November is in summer.
Or because it’s Utah, and temperatures still get up to around 20 degrees Celsius in November.
Anyone here get so distracted with the Giant pizza slice they have to rewind
I think it's worth noting woth the Halloween connections that FNAF 4 was originally set to release on Halloween. Scott just released it months early because he considered it ready for release.
7:22 I believe the reason why the animatronic toy Chica has a removable beak is so it could help with cleaning the suit
19:21 1 and 0 simultaneously missed calls from Schrödinger's cat
That is super interesting to think about. If 1982 was originally going to be important to the lore, I do wonder if this is the retcon Scott mentioned or not. But yeah, I really enjoyed this video. Awesome work!
Also, I love how in the background footage, you’re just messing around with the pizza inflatable in SB lol.
others think the retcon was dream theory. Scott might have retconned more than stated, as not to make the community think he doesn't know what he's doing.

Forgetting requires knowing of it in the first place.
one thing i loved about fnaf was finding out matpat solved fnaf on a stream where he deduced everything was a dream, scott gave some evidence, it basically was true, and the fanbase raged so hard at the idea that he literally completely averted it, locked away the box, and said "some things are best left forgotten"
But it's just the assumption.
man theories were so much simpler in 2014 when only the first game was out

I honestly believe the toys and toy animatronics were the crucial lead to the dream theory but when Scott saw that most people hated that, he changed it

Guys
Hear me out
What if 1982 is still important? Or most likely made important recently
What if 1982 is the year the gas experiments started?
It would tie with Fnaf 4, the modern lore and Dittophobia, bringing back some sparkles from the discussions of the past
Although I haven't read the story myself, from what I've seen the date of start of said experiments wasn't mentioned, so it could be a cool little nod that wouldn't affect the lore that much and also not generate much debate
Maybe 1982 being the year the experiments started could explain the fear CC has of the animatronics, but any date before his death would fit that role anyways
That's a good theory, and it could have merit, I would love to see a video on this piecing together Dittophobia and 1982. It might answer some questions that have been around for years.
If you want Fnaf 4 explained I will just explain it
The CC was the nightguard from Fnaf 1-3 that was resurrected after his supposed death and the box contained evidence of this but out of fear of finding out for sure he was resurrected he decided to keep it buried
Scott realized people didn’t get this out of being too vague so he try pushing that Fnaf 4 involved CC being a robot to get people into that mindset

Anyways, original comment:
one thing that peeved me about this theory is the fact that you called CC Garret.
It's a whole explanation I'll give here:
Cassidy is not the vengeful spirit who also resides inside of Golden Freddy alongside Crying Child, you can still follow dual possession theory and believe that Cassidy isn't their name.
But this could be the retcon we didn't notice.
i'm more interested in what the heck you're doing with the pizza slice
It’s so weird looking back on that days now especially as am OG fan. Scott gave us so many thing to consider as hints that back then we took every little thing as a thing that meant something important and we should consider as groundbreaking. But now….? 15:10 What a poor choice of words. Steel wool, Scott… why?
Also cool vid, I enjoyed the theory.
1982 can be a clue to fredbear's family diner's creation that can be in late 1982 and the start of 1983. or, the fredbear's concept and creation in 1982 before the release of the restaurant in 1983.
everything lines up to one specific detail
According to the security breach posters file name it was said to be created in the 70s
Love these kind of videos that hyper focus on very niche stuff in fnaf history. Awesome!
What if fnaf 4 took place in south America? Because here, when it's november, it's summer and really hot. So thats the explanation to why they're wearing those kinds of clothea
I mean it could be the year the two employees died to the spring lock but Scott made a oopsie and forgot to have us solve it
Imo, when 4 first came out, the place we see in the game was actually supposed to be a second FFD, reopened after the original's closing in 1982 after Charlie's death/disappearance.
Niiiiice dude perfect for me to work while listening to! Love your perspectives

I had a thought the other day, rewatching MatPat play HW2
What if David Murray’s death was/is the earliest death in the series/universe?
Why can the Marionette/Security Puppet fly out of the restaurant to hug/fuse with Charlie?…
We know David was “immortalized” in the Mimic’s program, his behavior snd mannerisms persist on in the Glamrock Animatronic Band, the Glitchtrap Program/‘virus’, and even in the Mimic itself…
But what if his spirit could’ve attached itself to an early version/prototype of the Puppet-a JESTER-like character that had to exist in 1983, but maybe even earlier as well…
1:46, 2093 a Yeat reference??

Or before
It's confirmed what William really wants is experimenting Remnent, agony or gasses.
Actually Scott admitted to forgetting the minor details of the lore and making it up as he goes
FNaF 2 is undeniably after FNaF 4 considering FNaF 4 is proven to happen in '83 and the date on the FNaF 2 paycheck says '87??
all those references were probably related to Dream Theory, where everything in the games was imagined by the Crying Child in a coma, but of course Dream Theory doesn’t work anymore

that thing about cc memories shaping the story is pretty cool i like it
My theory is the crying child is Cassidy
It does not mean that CC has to be a part of the MCI
It does not mean that we changed a characters gender.
The vengeful spirit’s name is most likely hidden in the foxy puzzle in the Security Logbook
To anyone reading late, this theory has been confirmed wrong with Dave/David being the name of the Crying Child
perhaps Toy Chica's beak is removable from the animatronic for maintenance purposes, instead of say taking off the whole head shell, if the problem is only near the front of the jaw then just remove the beak for a better access point and fix that way instead of taking the whole head shell off for no reason, risking dust and other things getting into the gears and joints and other tech inside the head
THE STUPID HELLO NEIGHBOR GREENSCREEN AT THE END 😭😭😭
I entered on the fandom during Silver eyes release and in all of this years I never saw 1982 being mentioned. Maybe it was an underground theory that is why died so fast?
I have to say I really miss the pre-book/pre-world lore discussions. Could just be me being an old man but the fnaf games have really lost their ARG and horror aspect with the heavy books aspect.
Lots of the mystery is just lost and u miss it.
When fnaf 4 came out it was by far the most divisive game in series
Somebody is possessing the Marionette BEFORE Charlotte dies in 1983.
Retroactively, David Murray makes sense as the first death.
His death even fits the Take Cake minigame.
He was outside, playing with a ball and the Mimic.
His father, Edwin, worked with/at Freddy’s.
David was hit by a car.
The child outside of the playable area in *Take Cake* is hit by a car, then the first Purple Man sprite of the series/franchise is seen, EVER.
Then the guy drives off, almost like a hit and run…
What if this isn’t William Afton in *Take Cake* ???
*”WHAT IS SEEN IN SHADOWS IS OFTEN MISUNDERSTOOD BY A CHILD.”*
Purple was chosen SPECIFICALLY to represent a person in the shadows, yes, but later given to Michael Schmidt after he rots.
We didn’t see William Afton kill a child-especially since the hit-and-run doesn’t fit with William’s MO.
Hell, the closest we come to a hit and run-like scenario is Susie’s dog. 🤷♂️
Toy Chica’s attempts to get a “boyfriend” in High School Years (UCN) get crazier and crazier each time, but never include a car of any sort.
Plus, it helps the “SAVE HIM, SAVE THEM” make MORE SENSE.
we should probably be rebuilding the FNaF timeline from scratch.
@@thisaccountisnotinuse
Exactly.
Afton".
(Kind of?)
Since Henry's sister in the books is called "Aunt Jen"; she is NOTHING like "Aunt JANE" in the movie...
@@gabriellockwood2780 pretty sure the movie is not in continuation with the games, I think the first game should be used first, then the second and so on.
I'd reckon the book characters are parallels of the game characters rather than in continuity.
Averaging both 1982, 1983, and 1987 gives 1984, which is a pretty interesting detail tbh
is it?
Literally 1984.
matpat has missed out on this 😔.
I have been getting fnaf theory videos recommended to me all night and i am here for it lol
But he clearly realized his mistake before the game came out, and now we have two bites (which is silly, but oh well)
Despite what Scott has said himself, he has retcon many things.. but after doing some further research at 100% understand why 87 had to become 83. it broke the timeline, so he fixed it.. kinda
@@skandto Oh yeah. Scott has retconned alot of tings, it just has to be for the timeline to make sense.
As for the 87 thing, yeah. He HAD to change it. FNaF4 taking place in '87 is literally impossible for a bunch of reasons.
@@skandto which was dumb as fuck, i understand the first game wasn't supposed to take off as well as it did but why not stop and make a timeline BEFORE pumping out content and making yourself look like an ass by retconning so many things
Scott said he retconned the story one time and this might be it
why tf u sound like chris from family guy
also the Toy Chica toy having the beak on the ground next to her is probably the toy is broken cause have you seen how children play with toys, they absolutely destroy them, so maybe they got rough with the toy and the beak broke off

*William Afton Spring-Locked in 2000; LONG after his 2 Daughters were born*
*Henry Schmidt would eventually die in 2014~15.*
FNaF 3 is in *2015*
except William doesn't have two daughters, his only daughter is Elizabeth.
Henry didn't die in 2014- 2015, he was the one who delivered the speech in Pizzeria Simulator, which, as we all know, happened after FNaF 3.
Michael Brooks isn't a character in the games afaik, he was only in the Silver Eyes trilogy.
Charlotte didn't die from a chocolate allergy, she died from William murdering her.
Also Henry and Charlotte's last name is Emily, not Schmidt.
@@natalie-chanistrash7214
1. Vanessa is clearly William’s daughter.
(Ergo; “William has 2 Daughters.”)
Vanessa Afton [Ness_A in Special Delivery/AR Emails]
Elizabeth Afton died in 1983. Vanessa outlived her sister.
2. Henry dies in 2015~16 no matter WHAT you believe.
(FNaF3 was CONFIRMED by Scott to be in 2015-MatPat is an idiot.)
Pizza Sim happens EITHER immediately BEFORE or immediately AFTER FNaF3.
[Except that Henry’s messages are all recorded on Cassette Tapes, so they could’ve been made in the 80’s~90’s before he killed himself with the robot like in the Novels.]
3. Michael Brooks is essentially just a stand in for Mike Schmidt from the games-a victim of the in-universe Franchise of FazBear Entertainment.
(But also, Charlie’s “memories” were BS recordings made by Henry AFTER her death, so we don’t actually know if they WEREN’T related actually…) 🤷♂️
4. Charlotte in the Lonely Freddy story was sick from chocolate. Like a dog, if she had too much, she could’ve suffered an allergic reaction and died.
5. “Emily” only works as CHARLOTTE’S last name-as an English surname, it specifically means “Rival”. Charlie RIVALS William. But Henry is NEVER given the name “Emily”.
*Just accept that you’re wrong.*
@@gabriellockwood2780 Except I'm not wrong and saying it like that just makes you look like an asshole.
1- It's never directly stated that Vanessa is William's daughter, in fact it makes much more sense for him to brainwash her into thinking she is, they're not related otherwise. And no, you cannot use the movie to say they are. The movie, the games, and the books happen in different universes. Her last name is just given as 'A.', which could stand for things other than Afton. In fact you said her username there is 'Ness_A' if you remove the underscore it gives 'Nessa', which is the last part of her name.
2- It'd be impossible for 3 to happen before Pizza Sim, regarding we literally have Afton and that clearly isn't the same suit as SpringTrap. Pizza Sim is after 3, no matter how you wanna spin it.
3- Scott stated before that the books and the games exist in their own separate continuity, only some things from the Silver Eyes trilogy should be taken as canon, such as Charlotte and Henry's names, William Afton's name, and Elizabeth's name, same with remnant and agony. Nothing else should be taken as taken, so there is no 'stand-in'. They are their own characters and Michael Brooks does not exist in the canon universe.
4- I repeat, do NOT use the books for anything canon unless Scott says otherwise. How do you know that's the same Charlotte? We only have a whole bucket of Jeremy's that are definitely NOT the same guy, and two Fritz's at that. Similar to fixed Toy Foxy and Funtime Foxy sharing the same name canonically, being Funtime Foxy. Scott loves to reuse names and it shows.
5- Wrong!!!
@@natalie-chanistrash7214
The only point worth contending here is 5.
I have LITERALLY scanned through ALL of Fourth Closet MYSELF-the name “Emily” ONLY appears once throughout the ENTIRE FUCKIN’ book.
*Beloved Daughter*
*Charlotte Emily _*
Born-Died
1980 - 1983
But then Henry’s headstone is only casually mentioned in the previous sentence.
*”…at the edge of the cemetery, where the grass had become overgrown, two small headstones sat, swallowed by the grasses. One was Henry’s-the other one was read:”*
Then in the Character Encyclopedia AND Freddy Files, Henry is ALWAYS left as “Henry [No Last Name]”, while Charlie sometimes gets “Emily”.
But we NOW have a canon character who HAS a middle name, so “Emily” can on e again be proven to be Charlie’s middle-name.
*DAVID SEAN MURRAY*
*CHARLOTTE EMILY SCHMIDT*
(Besides “Charlie” sounds like “Charlotte” and “Emily” as a single name anyway.)
LITERALLY all your other “points” are backwards-thinking, retroactive, and meaningless.
If you want to “solve” the timeline, you MUST combine the different perspectives shown to get a glimpse of the whole picture. 🤦♂️
So stop trying to be a Gatekeeper.
Erase ALL your preconceived notions that MatPat is Right, or that Scott doesn’t know what his story is.

Security Breach has the fucking Retro Disks that confirm Vanessa is William’s kid. 🤦♂️ 🖕 ☠️

*“Your dad’s name is ‘Bill’. You know-I’m pretty sure I met your father once-it was a long time ago…”*
*“Your father manipulated you from an extremely young age… He forced you to say things during the trial against your mother- things that weren’t true, were they?…”*
*“Your mother… …herself after the trial, didn’t she?”*
I only decided to mention this briefly because your point wasn’t REALLY worth the time to debunk.
Vanessa has 2 Employee Emails in the games.
AR: “Ness_A” (There’s even a cut/“beta” email that includes “1979” somehow in her email?+)
Security Breach: “Vanessa_A”

14:45 PLEASE JUST CALL HIM CC 😭😭😭😭😭
If that date change were THE retcon, it would have more or less been retconned in SL with the 1983 easter egg in the Ennard fight
Thanks for a good video covering comprehensively the story of this niche part of the franchise
JeremyDREAMER theory is underrated
@Sonicmid fnaf 4 have alot of "1987" references
the nightmares are hybrids between the classics and withered animatronics
the fnaf 4 bedroom closely resambles the fnaf 2 office with foxy being on the center just like fnaf 2
Maybe the CC is the nightguard for Fnaf 1-3 which explains the night phone call from Fnaf 1 and all the other references
and the reason we see animatronics that look human like and breathe is because he is coming to terms with himself being a cyborg
Then the box would be the thing that finally confirms his suspicions but he chose to not look into it out of fear
If Jeremy was one of the Dittophobia victims, it would explain Mimic taunting Jeremy with Nightmarionne now.
