This was not a bad owner. He just didn't know how to respond on time and see the little errors. Cesar told him the errors and he listened. It's great to see when owners actually listen to Cesar's advice. Same for the friends, they actually listened great to Cesar!
Big difference between a good owner who just doesn't see the little errors than an owner who acts like their dogs are their child.

Exactly!! The only criticism that I have of this video is that I think MUCH more time should have been spent with Evan, the owner, to establish the correct leader of the pack relationship with the dog and less with Evan's friends. If the dog, Amigo, respected Evan as his pack leader, through control of food, crate training, respect for thresholds, permission to eat, permission to move, permission to BREATHE, the problem with Evan's friends would disappear and Evan would be able to control it. I don't think ANY training of the friends was really necessary. It is all about the relationship of the dog to its owner. All of the dog's perceived aggression stems from the dog thinking that it needs to step up to protect the pack because he doesn't trust Evan as the leader, and rightfully so, based on how Evan has treated the dog in the past. All of this kissing and snuggling of the neck that Evan is showing in the video is not how dogs in the wild show leadership to their pack members. It just communicates weakness and dependence.

"I wanted a dog that looked like a wolf, because you cannot own a wolf."
That bothered me the most. That is exactly why he is having problems. He didn't pick the dog for his energy, but for his looks. I see that as an insult to the personality of the dog and the dog in general.
It would be the same as picking a human on his/her looks for a relationship and not looking at who that person really is. That is going to get you into trouble always. I think a lot of people are that shallow. I hear so many times that people always wonder how it is possible for an ugly person to get a handsome partner. Well, they picked each other based on character, personality and energy. That is why.
I really don't care what a dog, human or any other living thing looks like. I pick everything based on energy. Even my fish.
I have a huge tank of Malawi cichlids. There are almost never fights. Yes, I have males and females. Why no fights? I picked them on their energy, not their looks. Yeah, I bought fish that weren't perfect in color or build. Some even hybrids. But they were calm fish, not the most dominant ones in the tank that showed the most beautiful colors.
And here we are. A tank that is calm and assertive 🤣
And yes, some males became the dominant ones in the tank. But 2 meters of tank gives them enough space to chase and hide. Because they picked their own level of dominance, there were never any severe fights. It all came natural.
Now, what does that fishy tale has to do with this dog? Everything. The dog was picked based on looks, not energy. That creates stress, because the dog is not in a position where he wants to be in. He needs to be, but he doesn't want to. That is why he chases everyone away. The less humans, the smaller the pack, the better he can cope with his none dominant character. But since his human is even lower in dominance, the dog needs to be "tough".
I loved the change in him. Amigo completely relaxed when Cesar came. The skin was even looser than before. (look at the patch on his lower back near his tail. In the beginning it was higher up the back, when he relaxed it was lower, nearer to the tail).
I felt so sorry for Amigo. But I am sure he is going to have a great life now!
Kudos to Adam for calling Cesar! Hero!

@@flip_shifty, he does. But not all can be shown in a short video.
He points out that the dog needs walks. Why do you think he lets the scared guy walk the dog?
Have you seen other videos of Cesar?
Plus, dogs do not need to hunt. All dogs have that hunting instinct. No matter what breed. You can redirect that to something different. Let them guard, seek, agility, etc.

One of my huskies, Kylie, is 1/2 Siberian Husky, 1/4 German Shepard and 1/4 Coyote. She is by-eyed (one blue and one brown). She looks 100% Husky but her character is 100% German Shepard/Coyote. She's the only one that doesn't talk, she barks to communicate. She use to act this way, she's a fearful dog, I found the best way for strangers to meet her was for men to remove their eye glasses, don't show they are afraid of her, not to make quick movements around her, to sit down and to completely ignore her until she warmed up to them (5-10 minutes). Once she's calm and she approaches people, to sniff them, she's more perceptive. Then I get people to give her some treats, on open hand. When given other ways, it's as if the dog things you are going to grab their collar so open hand works best at first with Kylie. Once she gets treats from them, she becomes more comfortable with them. After just a few visits, if someone tried to harm them Kylie would protect them as she protects our family. She's still not good with other dogs that weren't part of our pack, but she rarely leaves the house and unless she's in the car, we keep her away from them or muzzle her. It's hard to train her for it, given we are both completely and totally disabled and unable to walk our team. We have a huge fenced in backyard and 3 of the huskies played all day long (they were 100% Siberian Husky). We had mom Harley, her only daughter and runt of the litter Meka (alpha female) and her biggest son Kash (alpha male). Kylie has the same dad as her siblings and is only 13 weeks older than the other 2. Kylie would play with them for 5-10 minutes a few times a day because she prefers to constantly survey the perimeter inside and outside of the house and is constantly on guard in the front window. So in hierarchy she was treated like the last place in the pack. Sadly in 2023 two of our dogs passed away. First, Meka passed away from cancer, we only found out she was sick 40 hours before we had to put her down, she was 10 yrs old. She was the alpha female so it was a devastating blow to the pack. They never played together again. Then 7 months later, mama Harley passed away from a different cancer (diagnosed after she passed away), she was 13 yrs old. It was really hard on Kash. Once again he stopped eating and cried for the first 6 months in his sleep and while awake. It's been a year and we struggle every day to get him to eat and when he does, he only eats half of what he use to. He won't even go in the room where the 3 of them always laid down in the house. It's heartbreaking to see. It hasn't impacted Kylie as much, but she has food aggression so food is her favorite thing. lol One year later and Kash still won't accept Kylie to be his new alpha female. He's starting to allow her to sleep a few feet from him, so i'm happy for Kylie, I know she tried for a long time to move up in rank, sad it had to happen by the death of the other 2 dogs. Kylie and Kash are now 11 years old.

I get that the more of a moron the owner is the better television it makes but allowing your friends to be bit by your dog is pure idiocy. That's no friend and common sense eludes them all. That was a grown ass man calling that dog a "Woof", where do they find these people...

You are foolish to keep a bitter dog. You can be sued. What about a child. 😩

Good job, Cesar, but I have some questions. Is that dog neutered or not? How much exercise or play does it get? I see a big dog defending the last remnant of his territory, that little garage. I've tried to figure out what he could be mixed with, and I think it's malamute - the wolfy, arctic look, that big hair. From what I read, malamutes can be real problem dogs.

“Im being constantly being bitten by Amigo”… seeing my dog biting other human and not doing anything about that🤯 for me its like having a child who beats someone and not being scolded for that… jesus not all ppl should have neither dogs or children

Does anyone know of a video Cesar does for the normally perfect dog that gets aggressive at the vet? It’s a new problem after they removed an ingrown nail and now he wants to snap at them.

He's probably just incredibly traumatized about it and fears the vet and is lashing out out of fear.

@@gabrielle3650 I know WHY he is doing it. I don’t know how to get him over it. We’ve tried the obvious things, and even the not so obvious.

Amigo also has to learn to tolerate people. He will not learn if he's put away every time. He has to be exposed to it in a controlled manner for it to stop.
