  • Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, is the most competitive and highest-profile off-road motorcycle racing championship on the planet. Over 17 weeks between January through May and a million-dollar All-Star Race, Supercross attracts some of the largest and most impressive crowds inside the most recognizable and prestigious stadiums in North America to race in front of nearly one million live fans and broadcast to millions more worldwide. The track takes all the exciting obstacles of outdoor riding-jumps, turns, and bumps-amplifies them, and puts them in easy view of spectators.
    Founded in America and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1974, Supercross is currently co-sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the official global governing body for motorcycle racing, thus making it a formal World Championship.

    • @TwistLosi
      @TwistLosi 6 років тому +19

      Chad has beaten RC many times including coming from behind, he has a few over Ricky straight up at Daytona also where Ricky did not have the pace at the end to keep up. I think a lot of people forgot how strong Chad was in his peak at the end of races.

    • @yamahakid450f
      @yamahakid450f 5 років тому +10

      He would of done well in 04 against him if RC wasn’t hurt, the first year for the aluminum frame was trash. Way too rigid for the way chad rides, he hated that bike and it cost him. Ricky had the ability to ride about anything no matter how it was set up or what bike it was, that’s rare... reed has and always will be about feel, it has to be perfect, which there’s nothing wrong with that. He’s also beat James straight up, Chad is a bad dude and the amount of title doesn’t show it (kinda like windham), if it wasn’t for RC and then James, chad would of beat McGrath’s record of titles and race wins I believe.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 5 років тому +5

      @@TwistLosi I don't think RC was ever beaten at Daytona. I don't think RC ever "did not have the pace at the end to keep up", ever in his 250/450 pro career. For his pro career, RC raced 21 different pro series, (outdoor and SX), and retired with about an 83% win average. Once he had a points lead in any series, he never lost it. Let those 2 facts sink in to correct reality for you. :)
      But you are right about how fast he was. He was one of the only guys who could challenge RC, and probably challenged him, and beat him more often than anybody else.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 5 років тому

      Oh yea, he beat RC a few times straight up in SX, but never for a championship, (and never outdoors straight up). Those 2 were really competitive back then, very close SX racing, (Outdoors, RC was gone). They were so close, many races pretty much depended how nasty the whoop sections were. RC was not as good in the whoops as Chad was, but a little better everywhere else. If the track had 2 nasty whoop sections, than the odds were Chad would have a strong shot of winning.
      I saw RC's greatness back then, and predicted he would win 15 championships, (over double of what had been done before), and he did.

    Look 👀 how they go into the corner. If, that was Bubba Steward it would’ve a blood battle. No respect when they race the black guy. 07

    I live in Dallas, I was at this race. I remember thinking why the hell are his bars that low? lol I couldn't ride a bike like that.

    Modern day supercross coverage should take notes on this camera work!! Top notch!! The new split screen sucks!! And they always cut to other riders right as someone is going for a pass.

    Why can't we get multiple line tracks like this anymore? Is it the new riding style? Or is it because the riders get so much more practice on the track now they figure out the fastest line and thats it?

    Let's let the cat out of the bag. Ricky Carmichael had knowledge of Honda's new traction control system in the out-doors series. He had a huge advantage over all motorcycle makes at the time. Yet Chad Reed won the race! Jeremy McGrath had no idea of this type of industry leading new mapping when he won so many supercross events. I can see why Ricky has remained humble being called the Greatest of all time. (Goat) Well, I feel he should come forward and tell his fans the truth about Honda Motorcycles at the time and how he was able to keep such control on an off camber climb outdoors! He had much more control and developed a heathy body could one day control a bike to be the best. It all comes out in the wash. Put that sucker on spin!

      Well thats racing, Matt! Go back and look over the wonder years of motorsport, 80's F1, Group B Rally etc...it was all about getting the advantage over your opposition!

    I was watching James Stewart vs. Chad Reed and Chad smashed into Stewart and made him crash. I haven't followed any of these guys, but that seems like a pretty bad way to race. Watching this race here, they looked like they weren't trying to smash into eachother, and even stayed away from eachother.

    Ahh back in the day when dirtbikes were real bikes. RC was riding for the best manufacturer. CR could actually win races even tho RC was riding soo much smoother. And it look like CR & JS had respect for each other. 🤣🤣

    There's nothing like this anymore, I think RVP's last supercross reign in the 450s was probably it. Chad made passing the GOAT look so easy.
