It doesn't matter if it's wooden or electric sauna. You MUST throw some water to the stones, because that makes the steam/moisture in the sauna and that feels more comfortable. Dry 50 C is not a sauna!

Watering the walls of an electric sauna before you go in helps a lot, and a decent sauna temperature is about 80 degrees celsius.

Damn that sauna was cold. Normally saunas are heated 70-90C

Maybe we have to work our way up, 60 degrees was even way to warm!

Fun fact: Rovaniemi is the largest city by area in Europe. Also normally Finnish people heat up the sauna to about 80-95 degrees Celsius and even up to 105, and 50-60 degrees is considered a rather cold sauna. Traditionally people have given birth, dried up hemp, sweetened malts and even smoked ham in a sauna. And there are more saunas than cars in Finland, around 3 million saunas in a country of 5.5 million people.

Wow, we really picked a great destination to try our first sauna then! Think we need to work our way up a bit, because 60 degrees was too much for us 😂😂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, it means a lot!

Wow! This has to be the best video yet. I was engrossed watching it. I actually felt cold as well watching you guys.
I can’t believe you’ve still got over another 30 countries to go before you reach your goal 😂. How are you going to fit them all in? 😂. Have you done the lowland countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg? What about further south as in Bulgaria? Egypt is another option and not that long a flight either.

      Jordan here!
Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😁. We have lots of exciting things planned for this year, including some of the lowland countries you mentioned. Egypt is high on my list, but we are starting to exit the optimal season to visit (way too hot for me). I definitely want to go soon, so stay tuned 😊

Also, if you have too MUCH on, you wlll be more cold than warm. Usually if you get those thermal jumpsuits, you should just have something light inside. 'Cause if the layers don't have any air between them, the amout of layers doesn't matter. Air between layers is an isolator.

50 degrees? Otherwise good video but that....that is not a Finnish sauna experience. I needed to go back and listen again that you actually said 50. When I was little (like 4 years old) my father told me that sauna needs to be atleast 60 degrees before you can enter it. 75 to 85 is the perfect temperature.

lol Sauna +50 degrees of Celsius is cold... normally even children go Sauna, which is at least +60 degrees. perfect warmth for adults is over +80 degrees of Celsius.

When you go to an actual Finnish sauna, you'll have to 'breath through your tongue'. That is, in the heat one is supposed to open their mouth only a little bit, stick a bit of the tongue in that opening with air around and thus run all the air into the lungs through the moist of the tongue and the mouth. Breathing full on will hurt you like hell. It is not recommended. We learn this as children in Finland. Nobody says this out loud. So you are welcome. The same goes for inhaling cold air in these resorts.
You'll soon understand why. And then you'll be fine both in sauna and the rides. It's really natural. as in survival instinc.

Very nice video. Planning to go this year. Can I just ask what type is your accommodation in Apukka, is it the Kammi or Komsio suite? And one more thing what type of camera recorder did you use for your vlog? Many thanks!

i think the thermometer was broken..... you can't blame these guys for thinking it was 50 degrees Celsius... that is what it read. Water freezes at zero and doesn't turn to steam until 100 and a hot sauna would be 80 degrees ideally
