Well, if you think about this: As a fan, he couldn't save his idol As a doctor, he couldn't save his patient As a child, he couldn't save his mother Much less he witnessed Ai smiling while saying "I love you" and died right infront of him…😭😭

Many mainstream fans were overreacting when this anime hit #1 in MyAnimeList in just it's first episode. Fans of AOT, FMA, KNY were furious why such an 'idol' anime even made it to the top, not to mention overtaking their favorite animes. I also watched the first episode and was like "Why not? I'd give this episode a 10/10 easily". It's just a matter of whether they could maintain this standards till the next episodes but this is a good one.

Didn't notice it until now, but the way the kids' glow sticks light up Ai's darkened eyes is such a nice touch. This prologue was so good, it could be a standalone movie with no sequel, and it still would be one of the best anime movies ever made.

I have not read the manga and probably wont till the show is over but im curious if they have the balls to truly tackle the idol industry and the other heavy topics present so far. so far AI has spoke nothing but facts. The idol industry is literally based on lies and quite frankly, toxic AF values. It's like American celebrity culture but somehow worse which can be surprising given how Japan is usually known for privacy and people who mind their own business especially in public.
Not a spoiler but the heavy topics are not just about idols but the entertainment industry as a whole about live dramas, anime adaptation, live actions, movies, stage plays and topics like as heavy as *teensy spoilers about topics* Abuse, blackmail, suicide, pseudo prostitution etc….
Perhaps many have not paid much attention to her, but since Aqua was born and until Ai's death, I never called her mom, unlike Ruby, who did. I've never read the manga and I don't know how far along it may be, but Aqua himself calling his mother as Ai may have an important arc that changes Aqua. This is not a spoiler or anything, it is what I feel when she wants to commit her revenge and realizes that despite everything she did not see her as her mother, she saw her more as her biggest admirer
I JUST got done watching this and omg... Just wow. This was amazing, the plot, the characters. Even though it had them stupid anime moments, it also still had them "oh shit..." Moments that really stole the show. 38:40 honestly had me dying

Let me be real for a sec. You can say that Ruby and Aqua are technically in part of the murder too. In fact, if it weren’t for Aqua asking who their father is or Ruby answering like that, Ai wouldn’t have told ‘their father’ the address. It’s true that the murder could happen later even if it wasn’t for that but Ruby and Aqua were a “factor” that made Ai died faster. Oh, and, I think I could be saved too. If she lied down and Aqua found something to slow the blood loss the moment after she got stabbed, she might have been saved. That’s my opinion, don’t think much about it. I know people can’t think straight and calmly when something shock happens.
