She should wear them regardless.I love them on her...I’m French so maybe that’s why I think she should wear it anywhere (lol) but they suit her really well and are cute without being too dressy...
People getting mad at Mia for not knowing is kinda getting on my nerves. I understand educating her and letting her know BUT being rude to someone that doesn’t have a bad bone in her body is 100% not necessary. Educate don’t bring her down.
I agree with you but it is also not that hard to do some research on a brand before purchasing from it, especially if you’re doing it for a video that thousands of (young) people are going to see. I really like most of her videos but I hate all of her fast fashion halls. She has been doing them for years and although I understand it is sometimes more expensive to buy sustainable clothing, I am sure there are brands out there that are not that expensive and she could get get subscribers discount codes as she now has a huge audience. Not to mention thrifting. I think in these comments people have made it clear that they don’t really support this kind of content and I think it’s a good thing that everyone is trying to raise awareness. BUT she has to educate herself. Her saying a few words at the beginning of a video is not going to make up for it in my opinion. Not to mention that even if she then donates most of the clothes, they have already caused a lot of harm both to the workers and to the environment. Tatiana Ringsby makes really great videos on the subject.
Zoe PN I agree that she needs to do more research on her own but I don’t think people need to be rude about letting her know. She probably didn’t do the research for this brand because it’s so popular and a lot of people have been requesting it. I’m not saying that that’s okay I’m just saying that’s probably what she was thinking. I don’t think she had any bad intentions about posting this, she just wanted to respond to a lot of the requests she was getting. Letting her know is okay but bullying her character and being rude isn’t.
Just wanted to remind y’all she made an almost 30 minute video that you guys asked for She probably wouldn’t have made the video if we hadn’t asked her so much for it, because she hasn’t done one in 2 years, and she knows about the unethical ways that the clothing is made But we asked her, and she delivered, put in effort, and spent her money for our enjoyment
@@hhjghh576 it's a cycle that everyone benefits from. I don't see what the issue is here. It's not like Mia is the first person to profit from just showing off clothing 😂
Mia thank you for addressing the controversy over Shein, I think it's great you took the time to do so and I appreciate it as a viewer. Also I absolutely love your makeup💜
Love how everyone is complaining about her not promoting sustainable fashion in this video but most of you commenting probably don't even buy sustainable fashion yourself. Most people can't afford it.
Exactly! 👏 I remember that I once went shopping at primark and a women at her 50s came up to me to lecture me about the clothings there, but when I told her that most stores on that shopping street (no matter how expensive or cheap) aren't any better at all, she rolled her eyes and left. Double standards🙄 (sorry for my English😅)
Yeah, like, hey I'd LOVE to only buy sustainable and ethical fashion, but I'm lucky if I can pay all of my bills each month, let alone afford to spend that money on clothes. Some of us have no choice but to get by on a Walmart/Target/Shein/etc. budget. Just a cruel reality of the world we live in.
I agree that fast fashion is a necessary evil, but it’s one thing to buy it because it’s your only option vs publicly promoting an evil brand even if she doesn’t fully endorse it. If you go through the comments you’ll see a lot of people saying “I’m going to place an order now !” I love mia and her content but I think we’re all disappointed that she didn’t do the research to learn the entire controversy around shein and the harm this and other companies has done. Even more so she has given money to this brand and similar ones such as wish multiple times, The issue isn’t about not promoting sustainable brands, it’s the lack of explaining why these brands are unethical and shouldn’t be financially support that is the issue.
Thrifting isnt always an option for a lot of people due to the fact its limited in sizes, and not everyone can afford to buy "sustainable" clothing because it's often overpriced. While fast fashion is horrid for the environment, Mia doesnt make the videos to promote fast fashion or deny it's been harmful on social media, if anything she goes out of the way to address otherwise, she makes these videos to review the quality of product which is genuinely helpful to those who can only to afford to shop fast fashion or online at these stores such as Shein, Rome, forever21, H and M, etc. If thrifting works for you that's great, if you can afford to buy sustainable clothing thats also amazing!! But please dont try to "cancel" Mia/anyone about where they buy their clothes or deem her a bad person for reviewing them for us. I'm just grateful she goes out of her way to give her fans content and reviews they are asking for.
Also telling lower income people they should only buy second hand if they can’t afford sustainable or ethical is extremely elitist. I’m sorry but poor people deserve new clothes too. Fast fashion is a product of rich corporations not a product of poor people. People need to stop putting the responsibility on low income families and start putting it on corporations.
Exactly. Thanks for putting that out so nicely (English is not my first language so I sometimes struggle to put what's in my mind out there but you seriously just did that for me). All and all I think it's good that people are more aware about all these ethical/unethical stuff. But every changes takes time. And while all ethical brands are still super pricey you can only expect a few amount of people that can and willing to pay for it. Same concept as meat and such from organic farms. It's not super easy to get hands on those in some countries. And even if it is not everyone is ready to pay those extra bucks. And yes, poor people deserves new clothes too! That's so true. Imagine wearing second hand clothes for the rest of your life. I don't think anyone will love that idea (including those comments that keep mentioning it). Like people need to be more realistic. You can't just expect everyone to change completely in such a short amount of time just because it's "the ideal way" for the world. Also mia doesn't just do fast fashion hauls, there's a bunch of time she bought stuff from expy ethical brands, and lots of time shes doing some sewing and such to transform old clothes.
@@emmjrose only if you get really lucky lol if you're over a size 10 it's a real crap shoot. I've gotten really lucky a few times but most of the time all I find is either tiny or butt ugly.
That green dress looks amazing and you don’t need an special ocasion to wear it. Last week I went on a walk with my graduation dress because I didn’t have the ceremony but I already had made the dress so I just wanted to put it on. With clothes like that you just need to have confidence and try it
I'm so glad I found your channel! You seem so down to earth and realistic about what to expect and even though some of the pieces weren't 'perfect' or *exactly* what they were advertised as, you didn't shit on the company and I really seriously love and respect that. Thanks for such a great review haul :) I appreciate it!
Editing Mia: ignore the cinched in hoodie Me: hadn’t even thought of questioning it 😂 Love how casual and real she is, like I’d 10/10 would just hang and watch movies with Mia all day on the couch. She’s just so chill!
For the green dress: I really don’t see why you are having a problem wearing the dress. It just looks like an everyday dress to wear. You don’t need an occasion to wear a regular dress.
For all the ppl commenting "omg mia don't support them" "they're unethical", she gets it. She addressed it. I don't think she needs hundred of comments telling her that. Y'all can just leave comments telling her what other video ideas she can do or whatever. Geez
Olivia Allemanda My God I wish some of you people would give her damn break. Did you not watch her intro. People beg her to do these brands then want to bitch about it. It almost you set her up for damn failure. She damn if she does or damned if she don’t.
Olivia Allemanda do you realize that trying not to shop sustainably requires that you spend a lot more money? If there wasn’t non sustainable fast fashion just your pants would cost $100+ it’s unrealistic to get mad at someone for shopping unsustainable clothing when it’s financially unrealistic for most of the population
Grace Connelly yeah but what’s the damn point? There isn’t. Most of the population can’t afford $100+ pair of jeans. Im all for the environment to be better and for clothes to be made in a healthier way and for workers to be paid fairly. If I could make the world perfect it would all change. But unfortunately it’s not that easy. You can’t stop fast fashion and the making of unsustainable clothing anytime soon just by refusing to purchase it. And getting mad at someone else for it is a waste of time too especially when everyone does it anyways. In reality most people can’t afford to shop for sustainable clothing. If there’s gonna be a real solution for this, it needs to be realistic for basic people and for the basic consumer
Taking 10-20 more mins. looking for a secondhand or sustainable option can save lives or even just messaging these fast fashion brands for accountability isn't hard considering the effect it has on people's lives (especially as someone coming from a third world country)
I just want to point out that Shein is a Chinese company. Them selling the necklace was definitely related to Buddhism. I see them all the time on clothes here (I live in China). Also, keep in mind that Chinese people don't find as many things offensive as we do. There is a BIG cultural barrier. Largely because they are ignorant to a lot of other countries culture. And no, it isn't easy for them to "educate themselves" because their media is different. Because they sell to an international audience they're going to continue to face criticism in the future. The truth is, all brands have skeletons in their closet. Your standards on fair work are also very different than Chinese people. And child labor is definitely illegal here (I don't know why everyone thinks there are still sweatshops). Everything is not black and white people. Stay educated, but also understand that foreign owned companies are catering to an audience that they don't understand. Agree to disagree, but that's how I feel.
It wasn;t tilted like the nazi symbol right? If not, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, still not really smart when selling to western cultures, but like you said not an obvious mistake when their media is so censored.
@@nonoticarly8778 in Asia Swastikas are not immediately associated with Hitler/Nazis. I live in India and there are swastikas everywhere. The Western perspective is of course negative but there is an entire half of the world where Swastikas are not viewed negatively. And Shein ships to these countries as well.
I totally agree with you. The swastika symbol is associated with buddhism and Hinduism. The symbol the nazis used was a bit different, its tilted. Shein caters for the Asian market as well so they were not being purposely naive to the western view of that symbol.
When you said eyelash fabric all I could think about was the episode of sponge bob where he made squidward a sweater out of eyelashes 😂 you nailed that 😂
Viewers: request that Mia makes a SHEIN video Mia: makes a SHEIN video Comments: "oh my god why would you buy from this awful company????? stop promoting fast fashion!!!!!"
It’s not just about them being a fast fashion company that’s unsustainable, they’re the same company that sold swastika necklaces, prayer mats as decorative rugs, and stolen preexisting designs from black artists
dad yes that is true! and also since shein is a china based company it makes sense that they would sell a swastika design since buddism is largely practiced in china
I would love to see you do a black owned business haul!! Sierra schultzie just did a video on it and I think it’s a great idea and a great way to help those businesses get some visibility and support, especially with how difficult things have been for black owned small businesses during the pandemic. You radiate so much positive energy I would love to see you use that for social justice!! Black lives matter!! ❤️❤️
The Joker I agree all small businesses are hurting rn and need our help but Black owned small businesses are hurting more than others and need more attention. also buying from a Black owned small business is also a great way to support the Black community, in addition to speaking out about social justice issues. That’s why I specifically said Black owned small businesses.
Hot take: People who claim that others shouldn't support Shein often come at it from a classist perspective. 'Sustainable clothing' is often extremely expensive, and is unattainable for many people who don't have the income to drop $100 on a single piece of clothing. Not everyone has a ton of disposable income.
Sustainable does not necessarily means expensive ! You can get good and cheap second-hand clothing in thrift stores, on depop or else ! ^^ I mostly buy second-hand clothing now, in france we have an app like depop, for instance someone sold me a skirt that still had the price tag on it !! It was originally 25€ and she sold it to me for 5€ !! That was very affordable. And as another example I found a nice long sleeve shirt in a thrift store for 4€. There always are greater options ! ;)
@@AurelSiclier Thrift shopping is totally a possibility! Thanks for mentioning it, it totally slipped my mind when I was making my comment. Still, it can be difficult to find second-hand pieces that are fashionable and of good quality. For that reason, I never have much luck in my local shops. :/
I think if people spoke up more, more companies would be compelled to create ethical/sustainable clothing. I think most don't give a thought (I never did until about a year ago) about where their clothing comes from or why it is so inexpensive.
If a purse is really squished or has lost its shape try putting some old clothing inside the bag and let it sit overnight or a few days and it will go back to its original size (:
I get it that most western people associate the "swastika" sign with the nazis, but it has been a positive sign in the Hindu and Buddhism religions for CENTURIES. Not defending shein, just think people should know that.
the problem was that they didn't advertise it as a religious necklace (same with the prayer mats- they called them decorative rugs), while the true meaning behind the swastika is peace- you can't just completely ignore the negative meanings behind it. Especially without clarification and knowing a lot of their customers are from western cultures. The nazi swastika is also turned slightly, but a lot of people don't know the differences. I can't say if they truly had bad intentions, but you can't hide behind ignorance when you're a huge corporation.
@@lovetolaugh113 Swastika can be both ways. They have diff meaning. Swastika is the one nazis used symbolize Sun and one look the other way is called Sauvastika symbolize (Night). But I think it might differ in diff religion. But in the End both sides mean diff things.
@@enkhrii15 I'm aware of that, but not everyone is- that was the point. And like i said it wasn't advertised as a religious symbol- just a swastika and most people in the western culture see that and think "nazi symbol"
Okay but that green dress, why does it have to be to a wedding? Just wear it on a normal day, I don’t get it lol. It’s not a super formal dress or anything. JUST WEAR IT 😂
@Coco Nut the one in 15:53 is the one I'm referring and yes give those vibes. I'm portuguese but I have seen in a lot of pictures taken in Greece, Canarias and other places with dresses like this so thats why I say. I'm sure the summer here and in the other Mediterranean countries is warmer than in Sweden. Give this vibes only people from there use, no
@@justacutie. Not sure how low of a temperature you think there is in Sweden in summer but we get 25-30, often 30+, and everyone wear these kinds of dresses.
@@aspannas I know that Sweden can be hot, but let's not compare, with countries that are known for being more hot. If that was not the case, tourists that like beach and warm temperatures would not come to certain areas on for example Portugal, Spain and Greece. The dress give Mediterranean vibes, vibes. I'm not saying, hey only we use. Thats different stuff. Mediterranean countries have more sun along the year
Obviously Mia has a lot of clothes she's never gonna wear. What if she opened a Depop or something to sell her extra stuff on for cheap, so it doesn't all go to waste?
Loving all this lime green and colour choices! I so much appreciate that you actually buy stuff that your audience will like, not just you. I hate it when youtubers have a fashion channel and then consistently by the same 5 nude items. Its boring! Keep it up Mia!
She wore it with the jeans also. The article right before the shirt lol. But it’s because she reviewed the shirt first just not the order she did it for the video :)
Who else got scooby doo vibes from this video her green top with the orange pants looked like a modern fashionable Velma and the purple top was very Daphane
Could you possibly do a haul on sustainable clothing? Many UA-camrs focus on fast fashion and I would like to see more environmentally conscious hauls. Granted, hauls aren't sustainable but it a popular genre! I don't mean to come off as rude, just a suggestion.
you spoke my mind! instead of promoting fast fashion as a option for cheap clothes, she could be showing us ethical and sustainable products, to try to combat fast fashion! also the hauls genre just feeds into consumerism, and if she does a haul for sustainable stuff, that would directly contradict the 'sustainable' aspect of it.
I think a video showcasing how to build a starter sustainable wardrobe would be interesting. It IS expensive and not accessible to everyone, but if someone could get really nice quality basics/classic pieces, that's a good start. For trendy items, especially if you're straight size, you should look into buying them secondhand.
All these comments complaining are going overboard. I understand that yes Mia should’ve researched more about the company and how corrupt they are but at the same time it’s her subscribers who requested this video. If she didn’t make this video people would keep commenting and requesting. Also to address the fast fashion problem, as said by other people, sustainable fashion are often way too expensive. Usually people who buy cute trendy clothes are pretty young, which usually means they don’t get paid much. So they have no choice but to turn to cheap fast fashion clothing. People also have to acknowledge that unethical fashion is pretty much everywhere. It’s really unavoidable unless you can afford really pricey items.
yup that's true so let the comments be targets to the readers who are potential buyers so then maybe 1 day Mia don't have to support Shein because her subscribers want to.. silence should never exist for any reason. yet Mia as a youtuber has the power to do a little investigation in Shein and share what she found and state she can't longer support such company .. but in anyhow.. that's up to her but whatever she chooses it doesn't mean others can't speak to address the point of critiques on the company. it's a free world and as long it's not attacking Mia personal it should be okay.
and also.. low income isn't a excuse to support shady companies and exploitation.. we talking about living souls suffering to make those clothes.. other's low income doesn't make those people say okay I gonna get myself be exploited so you can buy cheap clothes.. we should care about other's isn't it? live to your income and not above it and think of other's in all choices we make. what future our children gonna have if we don't?
It’s not just about them being a fast fashion company that’s unsustainable, they’re the same company that sold swastika necklaces, prayer mats as decorative rugs, and stolen preexisting designs from black artists
Omg, u r not alone. For some reason it bothered me so much when she got the lime green and burnt orange stuff wrong. Like its not a big deal but for some reason I'm still thinking about it lol
Stop hating on Mia :( shes always so positive and informative and instead of ignoring issues she addresses them. Stop hating on someone who is so caring about others.
Omg the pink trousers with green tank totally gave me watermelon vibes if she had black heels and wore the white bag she also bought it would be perfect. Maybe with like a darker green hat or headband or maybe even a jacket ahhh that would be so adorable! 🍉🥰
here's the thing y'all: if mia only bought clothing from sustainable/ethical brands, you would complain that her content isn't relatable because even if she can afford to shop it most of her viewers can't. that being said, while purchasing from brands that use prison or child labor (or laborers who are enslaved), or are generally considered "fast fashion" isn't ideal from an environmental or ethical standpoint, it's unfortunately all that most people can afford (im speaking as an american, but im sure this is true for the majority of countries). it's the duty of corporations and other capitalist agents to make an effort to become not only ethical and sustainable but AFFORDABLE for their consumers. this is a larger issue than just a UA-camr (who is largely unproblematic) showing an unsponsored video of an affordable albeit unethical clothing haul.
If people can afford Shein, they can afford clothing on Poshmark, Depop and thrift stores. Affordability is not a good enough excuse anymore to support these companies and until they feel the heat from declining sales, they won't do anything to become more ethical and sustainable. You have to hit them where it hurts... the bottom line.
What about thrifting (using stores or apps or websites) or making your own clothing from scratch? Or doing a clothing swap with friends and family? Those are all accessible, affordable, and ethical.
@@jenniviiv all the CUTE clothes on poshmark and depop are like smalls and mediums. The only clothes that come in my size are fucking ugly shit your grandma would wear, and thrift stores are even worse. She's promoting buying excessive amounts of really cheap clothes from the Worst companies and basically just "donating them" as a way to pretend like you're doing good. Donations just go to third world countries where they end up being trash.
Mia is not promoting fast fashion, it’s everywhere, Nike, adidas, Marshall’s/tj max, Ross, target, Kohl’s, brandy(which is racist and basically for only skinny people) but yet everyone promoted it and bought it. literally every brand is fast fashion unless if it is super expensive like 100 dollars and up, which is ridiculous.
Actually, $100 and up isn’t ridiculous. It is extremely expensive, but it is closer to the true cost of the items. People should be suspicious if they find a shirt for $5, or even $25 brand new. When brands are able to sell clothing at such a cheap price, they are cutting corners somewhere and it is usually at the expense of the environment and/or the workers that are sewing the clothes.
@@BumbleBee-kn9be I don't know about you, but I really can't afford to be spending $100 and up on every piece of clothing I own. I would rather carefully buy fast fashion and take care of it for years than go broke buying expensive pieces.

I love how the people that criticize those who use fast fashion brands are also the ones that change their phones every year, go to Starbucks every day and are constantly consuming stuff they do not need.
Hi! I criticized and I have had the same phone for 6 years, haven’t been to Starbucks in 4+ years, make or thrift all of my clothing, and only have produced 1 jar of trash in the last 3 months. Please don’t make these blanket statements. They make you look horribly judgemental.

Hello comment section, here are my experiences with SHEIN: I've ordered from them 3 times in the past, always spending around 180€ or more....(dont call me out on that pls) My tips for ordering there are: You can filter by materials, always sort by cotton because polyester can be tight and hot! You can scroll down to the reviews and look at pictures posted by REAL people. It's an easy way to get an idea how the clothing piece will look on a non-model body. The shipping has been amazing, I live in Germany and its never taken longer than 2 weeks to arrive! So far I've been really happy with shein and will order from there again in the future They don't only have clothes, they also have household items that are really cool! OK Bai
I've never ordered and always wondered... I've seen some pieces from them in our local Value Village Thrift Store and wasn't certain if that was a good sign or not. Thanks, Delia, for adding this in the comments - great tips! :) Shannon A. (from Ontario, Canada)

When y'all shop on shein ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS!! Thats how you get the good good bc when it says what the pieces are made of under each description, they are not always correct so thats one big reason why reviews are key cuz you can see what other people say/see their photos. Xoxo

Mia I literally love you you have got me through quarantine and I know everyone says that but I really mean it I’ve been watching you for years❤️❤️❤️ mama maples is the cutest as well her laugh always makes me laugh❤️❤️
Just some perspective I live in Mexico and where I live there are no thrift stores so either your rich and buy sustainable fashion or you buy fast fashion which I do. I don’t buy many clothes at all, a couple things a year is all. But I do have to buy clothes and thrifting isn’t an option. Also, about the countries where workers aren’t paid a fair wage for making fast fashion clothing. These people need this job, it may not be right but they are creating jobs. If you’ve never lived in a third world country or truly seen poverty you can’t say it’s wrong and that everything should be made in the United States because these people are most likely grateful to even have a job! That’s what I think from the perspective of someone who lives in a country where 60% of the population is living in poverty.

The two vinyl bags look like something you can pick up at Walmart or Target. The peach-colored pants look fabulous on you. The flower crop top doesn't flatter you. The neckline on the green dress is very flattering on you. It's very retro to the 1950s. A lot of the clothes you got this time are retro. The ribbed color-block has what is called a scoop-neck. They were popular in the 1950s and early 60s. The burnt orange top has sleeves that were popular in the 1970s. The grandma vibes ribbed shirt was popular in the 1960s and brought back in the 1990s. My kid used to wear things like it when she was a teenager.
Aishwarya Mishra And that is fine. But when I see it, as a Jew, being sold in a western country, it’s a symbol of Nazi hate. So, it can mean one thing to you, and another to me, and Shein should use a brain cell or two to avoid selling something so disgusting to me in western market. It really is that simple.
Yvonne Fields I disagree - the swastika has been used for thousands of years by Hindus and Buddhists as a symbol of peace. It was a symbol that was taken from them and they have a right to reclaim it. Now, was it a smart PR move for shein - absolutely not. If it were my company no religious trinkets would ever be sold because I think it’s weird to profit off of religion like that. But I think companies can still sell swastikas (and not the despicable nazi hate symbol) if they choose. Especially given that shein has a HUGE Asian audience. And where do most Buddhists and Hindus live....? Asian wow!!
@@yvonnefields6027 Hitler adopted the symbol from ancient scriptures. It was never about hate. It means "well being" and most Indian households draw it outside their houses or on new things like a new car. And the Nazi swastika was specifically a black swastika crooked in a 45° angle.
roxylove Like I said, in a western market, it’s offensive. I’m sure a noose doesn’t have the same meaning to Asians as it does black people. Doesn’t mean that it won’t evoke certain feelings in black people. I’m amazed at the great lengths people will go to to tell a Jew not to be offended by swatiska. If I’m ever in India and I see one, I’ll make sure to remember you told me to not be offended. If I’m looking online at jewelry, I’ll be offended if I see one, and I’ll make sure not to worry about whether or not other people think I’m being uncultured.

To all the people criticizing Mia: FAST FASHION IS EVERYWHERE!!!!! Yes, that does not make it ok. But a lot of brands that you buy from is fast fashion. Places that arent fast fashion are usually extremely expensive and a lot of people just can't afford it, it sucks because fast fashion is horrible, but most people need to buy from those brands because it's what they can afford. If you can afford to shop from brands that everything is 70 dollars and up because it isn't fast fashion, then good for you but it's just not realistic to lecture other people for shopping at those places.
This is the biggest thing for me. I love love love sustainable fashion but it weirds me out when people only single out things like she-in and zaful for fast fashion when 99% of what you wear is most likely fast fashion. Old navy and american apparel are fast fashion! Yes call out fast fashion but BE CONSISTENT
Hey! Just jumping in to say I critiqued her on this. 100% of my wardrobe are second hand (thrifted, handed down from family, traded with friends) or handmade. It wasn’t an instant change but I haven’t bought anything new in years! First hand sustainable clothing is so expensive, like you said, but thrift stores are so widely available and accessible (at least in the US and Canada). It’s a process for sure, but purchasing these large orders from fast fashion brands (especially ones where a 3 second google search would show you what horrors they commit) for entertainment is disheartening.
Mybe of all the people who left a negative comment about the video didn't watch it them she would no longer post them. Same for all UA-camrs. They only post video that get views and alot of the views are coming from people who are complaining. So by coming onto the video and commenting you are actually also cause the issue to continue.
@@vholt774 That is great! It is cool that you have great thrifting options around you and great hand me downs as well as friends who share your style and size. Not everyone has these priviledges though. I try to shop second hand myself, but at times the options feel limited where I live, especially when I think my sense of style is not that common. I think the take-home is that we have to be more empathetic and encouraging, rather than guilt-tripping which can backfire (look at the veganism cause, for example, which has backfired).
BlackGrapes Agreed. Thankfully there are SO many second hand shops online with great inventory (FB marketplace, Depop, threadup, Poshmark, eBay, Craigslist, to name a few).

Yesss! 🙌🏼
It’s so annoying because she’s just giving her subscribers with the ask for
Zoe PN I agree that she needs to do more research on her own but I don’t think people need to be rude about letting her know.
Stephanie Gallardo exactly! People have been requesting this kind of video for so long and when she finally does it, all the comments are negative.

It's approximately 5 years if you count in weeks..
pahahahaah i was thinking that!!?? lol
I think she meant months
I like that Mia talks to us like she would in person not as a influencer. She and her family are REAL!
She's actively helping to fight this as well by reviewing things so there are less wasteful purchases, which creates less demand for these items.

Honestly I agree
Are you trying to say they wouldn't know a swatsika is associated with nazis? Just wanted to clarify

Hot take: People who claim that others shouldn't support Shein often come at it from a classist perspective. 'Sustainable clothing' is often extremely expensive, and is unattainable for many people who don't have the income to drop $100 on a single piece of clothing. Not everyone has a ton of disposable income.
I agree. They should put their $ where their mouth is & make sustainable clothing actually affordable & readily available
There always are greater options ! ;)
Aurélie Sr || Yesss sustainable clothing doesn’t have to be expensive to be sustainable

They shouldn’t be using religious symbols in general
the problem was that they didn't advertise it as a religious necklace (same with the prayer mats- they called them decorative rugs), while the true meaning behind the swastika is peace- you can't just completely ignore the negative meanings behind it.

Could you possibly do a haul on sustainable clothing? Many UA-camrs focus on fast fashion and I would like to see more environmentally conscious hauls. Granted, hauls aren't sustainable but it a popular genre! I don't mean to come off as rude, just a suggestion.
Was just thinking the same
you spoke my mind! instead of promoting fast fashion as a option for cheap clothes, she could be showing us ethical and sustainable products, to try to combat fast fashion! also the hauls genre just feeds into consumerism, and if she does a haul for sustainable stuff, that would directly contradict the 'sustainable' aspect of it.
I think a video showcasing how to build a starter sustainable wardrobe would be interesting. It IS expensive and not accessible to everyone, but if someone could get really nice quality basics/classic pieces, that's a good start. For trendy items, especially if you're straight size, you should look into buying them secondhand.
yes!!
She has...
It’s really unavoidable unless you can afford really pricey items.
yup that's true so let the comments be targets to the readers who are potential buyers so then maybe 1 day Mia don't have to support Shein because her subscribers want to.. silence should never exist for any reason. yet Mia as a youtuber has the power to do a little investigation in Shein and share what she found and state she can't longer support such company ..
but in anyhow.. that's up to her
but whatever she chooses it doesn't mean others can't speak to address the point of critiques on the company. it's a free world and as long it's not attacking Mia personal it should be okay.
and also.. low income isn't a excuse to support shady companies and exploitation.. we talking about living souls suffering to make those clothes.. other's low income doesn't make those people say okay I gonna get myself be exploited so you can buy cheap clothes.. we should care about other's isn't it?
live to your income and not above it and think of other's in all choices we make. what future our children gonna have if we don't?

Me: Thats like, less than 5 years though?😂
Edit: Ohhh ok I figured it out, I think she meant months lmao
I was so confused when she said that. I was doing the math for like 5 minutes like "what am I doing wrong" ahah
Omd ye sameee
I was about to comment the same thing
she didn’t mean months, she was being sarcastic
coco no I think she really did mean months
just finished my finals and needed to refresh myself with Wholesome Mia content
Not to mention a lot of sellers on depop are just drop shippers, which is even worse because they're marking up the price of Ali express type clothing that costs like $5 by like 200%. Don't shame people for not being able to afford to live a sustainable and ethical lifestyle all the time.
@@annushkanoor4328 I'll stop shaming you when you stop popping off on people who care about the environment and slave labor. There is ALWAYS a way to buy ethically, even if you're on a budget... y'all are just too lazy to find the way and would rather buy a $12 dress that will fall apart in three washes. If we don't address this NOW and put in the hard work, NONE of this will matter because there won't be a planet to peacefully live on and buy cheap clothing.
@@jenniviiv then pray tell where this US 18 can get cute, ethical clothing on a teenager's budget???? I can't afford to drop $50-100+ on pieces, especially pants, which my thighs will obliterate in about a year?? All the threat stores in my very large city cost the same as brand new clothing, despite alway being stained, ripped, discoloured and in generally terrible quality. Poshmark doesn't carry clothing my style in my size, and all I see on there is ugly ass Laura and Suzy Shier type clothes, and my phones too old to even be compatible with depop.
If Mia didn't post she would get hate when she does post she gets hate, it clearly says what brand she is doing in her title so if your not happy with what she is reviewing don't click! Mia shouldn't have to justify what video she is making it's her own money that she has worked really hard for and she shouldn't be made to feel nervous about posting on "her" channel! Her channel her content don't like it dont watch! Mia I think your fantastic I watch all your videos and appreciate what you do for all you subscribers so thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Yes!!!!!!!
I agree :))) Love to Mia
She's promoting buying excessive amounts of really cheap clothes from the Worst companies and basically just "donating them" as a way to pretend like you're doing good. Donations just go to third world countries where they end up being trash.
"They won't get caught in dips and stuff" you know Mia always eating those dips 😂
Olivia Allemanda also Nike sells clothing that is 100 and up but they still pay workers in China like a dollar a day.
@@BumbleBee-kn9be I don't know about you, but I really can't afford to be spending $100 and up on every piece of clothing I own. I would rather carefully buy fast fashion and take care of it for years than go broke buying expensive pieces.
tiffc00 same!!! Fast fashion isn’t just in cheap items it can be expensive items as well.
tiffc00 yeah I def don’t have that kind of money either. I think it’s great if you carefully buy fast fashion and take care of it, but the reality is, that’s not what most people do. Personally, I try to avoid buying any clothing brand new and I opt to thrift :) it’s cheaper and way better for the environment!
252 weeks is 4.8 years old 😂 that’s why it seems like a small amount, I know you meant months 🤣
We love you Mia! You don’t have a bad bone in your body and we love how down to earth and honest you are! Never change ❤️
Mia, you don't have to be going anywhere to wear cute clothing, that green dress is so freaking cute on you! Wear it even if you aren't going anywhere ❤️
Me, scrolling through the comments to find the hate comments everyone’s talking about 👁👄👁
SAME
Prolly there were so many hate comments that others commented about it than u cannot find them this happens
Lmao that’s the first thing I did before watching the vid
Wait there’s hate comments ???
😂😂😂same here
I love how the people that criticize those who use fast fashion brands are also the ones that change their phones every year, go to Starbucks every day and are constantly consuming stuff they do not need.
Hi! I criticized and I have had the same phone for 6 years, haven’t been to Starbucks in 4+ years, make or thrift all of my clothing, and only have produced 1 jar of trash in the last 3 months. Please don’t make these blanket statements. They make you look horribly judgemental.
Most probably do those things!
@@vholt774 how do you keep your consumption (trash) so low? I've heard of people who do this it is amazing!!
Cheryl-Lynn Mehring It can be super difficult! I actually forgot to mention it was the first 3 months of the year, not the most recent. I was super lucky to have access to good bulk sections in grocery stores, I don’t eat meat, and I reuse almost everything! When Covid hit the US my waste went up because of lack of access to bulk sections and an increase in take out and online shopping. 😞 But it just takes a lot of conscious effort. I am also a single woman so just worry about my own waste. I definitely recognize my privilege in this!
Victoria Holt good for you?
The clothes are cute but I can’t stop looking at your makeup! That lavender eyeliner with the black is SO PRETTY 💜💜💜
mia really said she’s 252 weeks old...that like 4 1/2 years old...not quite mia😂😂😂
Yah I think she meant months😂😂lmao
I was half asleep and didn’t know what video I clicked on...then I heard “TODAY WE ARE DOING A VERY EXCITING VIDEO” then I knew it was Mia.
I love your eye makeup! 💜 my favorite color 💜
Hello comment section, here are my experiences with SHEIN:
I've ordered from them 3 times in the past, always spending around 180€ or more....(dont call me out on that pls)
My tips for ordering there are:
You can filter by materials, always sort by cotton because polyester can be tight and hot!
You can scroll down to the reviews and look at pictures posted by REAL people. It's an easy way to get an idea how the clothing piece will look on a non-model body.
The shipping has been amazing, I live in Germany and its never taken longer than 2 weeks to arrive!
So far I've been really happy with shein and will order from there again in the future
They don't only have clothes, they also have household items that are really cool!
OK Bai
thankyou!
Tysmmm!!
I've never ordered and always wondered... I've seen some pieces from them in our local Value Village Thrift Store and wasn't certain if that was a good sign or not. Thanks, Delia, for adding this in the comments - great tips! :) Shannon A. (from Ontario, Canada)
@@FashionWithShannonA Well , in value village thrift store you can find any kind of brand , from cheap to pricey . It doesn’t mean it’s bad 🤷🏼♀️ i will not say anything on shein, i just buy a combi short on vinted from shein and she is beautiful, a nice fabric , thick… but i didn’t buy anything else
@@_moro_4992 That is true, MoRo, that is true... Guess my thought was that the pieces I saw didn't look more than just tried on... And Shein seems like a fairly new-to-the-market store to me (I could be wrong) so I wasn't too sure... But, again, you are so right: you _can_ find some pretty amazing finds in Value Village, hanging right beside the bargain store brands! --- Really glad, btw, that your purchase turned out to be so nice - right on! :)
When y'all shop on shein ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS!! Thats how you get the good good bc when it says what the pieces are made of under each description, they are not always correct so thats one big reason why reviews are key cuz you can see what other people say/see their photos. Xoxo
And on many other sites like Wish too. :) x
Come through, Mia! I always appreciate your honesty. Some UA-camr's that are sponsored by Shein will show a top that looks paper thin and say it's good quality😭
Mia I literally love you you have got me through quarantine and I know everyone says that but I really mean it I’ve been watching you for years❤️❤️❤️ mama maples is the cutest as well her laugh always makes me laugh❤️❤️
The stretchy stitching is called "smocking". Like "She loved wearing smocked crop tops in the summertime." 😉💜
I'm 90% sure that shirring, not smocking.
It's can actually also be call shirring, just depends on the direction/pattern of the stitch. The effect is the same. 😊
I’ve heard both. Made multiple shirts with the technique. Still don’t know which is correct
I was looking for this comment...I dont know the name of most fabrics like Mia lol
Itzel W um same I sew and I still barely know fabric names
Me when Mia says “it looks perfect” and not “it fits like a glove” 🤯
You should do a video about cottagecore! I’ve been really into that aesthetic lately :)
requesting a Shein "home" haul next to try all their home products!!!
Why don’t you just wear the dresses as casual wear when you go out? Pair with cute sandals or even Keds, or even the Doc Martens Mary Janes you just got.
Cause she lives in Canada
Lesly Lopez yes I know that, but she buys a lot of skirts and shorts so she could wear dresses. They do get warn weather in Canada.
I just commented this. I didn’t copy you I promise 😂 sorry I can’t be bothered going back and deleting it
Amy no worries! 🤪
Nobody: “......”
Like literally nobody: “....”
Mia in every try on video with dresses: “ hopefully there will be a wedding where I can wear this dress”
Me : you a MOOD SISSSSSS🤩
Those plaid green pants made me smile - my Mom wore a pair like that in the 60's!
Can you do sustentable brands haul?? Plz? I love your content but I can't wear anything of this so it would be great to see sustentable clothes being reviewed by you 💕💕
Can’t wait for Mias friends && family to start having weddings so she can wear some of these dresses!☠️☠️
I actually love the cheaper fabric Shein uses on their dresses because it’s so light that I can wear mine easily on hot summer days!
“They don’t feel like, itchy... or scratchy from The Simpsons” 😂
Loving the eyeliner matching the sweatshirt.
I'm from India and hindu, we use swastika during our prayers and festivals. It's not a hate symbol for us, we see it as peace and prosperity.
People these days get butt hurt over EVERYTHING! To each it’s own and everyone has an opinion and their own beliefs, but people nowadays need to get thicker skin and quit being so damn sensitive!!
I'm happy you did this, but I'm curious, could you do one sponsored and see if it's completely different and if they send people that are sponsored better quality, if that makes sense 🤣 I've always been curious and honestly if anyone would do it, it's you ❤
That would be very interesting!
9:39 who else thought she looked like Shaggy from Scooby Doo???? In a good way of course with the brown pants and the green shirt! Loved all the clothes and accessories they were super cute!❤️❤️❤️
When you were wearing those orange pants with the green shirt you looked so much like shaggy from scooby doo 😂😂
I love your passion for buying and showing the clothes to us as viewers.
SHEIN seeing Mia do yet another non-sponsored try on haul after trying multiple times to get her to do a video with them: 👁👄👁💢
