  • Barcelona, Spain - what was our first impression, and what are the top sites you should visit when you come on vacation/holiday? We visited Barcelona for the first time in 2021. In this video, we share with you some of the top attractions we discovered to visit while on a budget as well with a limited amount of time available.
    Some places we will show you are the Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter, where you will find the Cathedral of Barcelona, Bishops Bridge, charming bars and restaurants, and the port of Barcelona with a wonderful promenade to walk. We stayed on La Rambla street and really enjoyed walking this area, the most famous street in Barcelona.
    We only got a taste of what Barcelona has to offer and expect to return soon.
    Cheers!!!

    Now that you have visited different cities in Spain, you get a broad impression of how Spaniards understand life and that it is a country full of history and culture, landscapes and above all the streets are full of life with its gastronomy etc ... I hope you liked it and you will visit us again

I can't begin to explain how beautiful this place is but once you get there you will understand.So hope your next 90 day visa allows you time to visit there.stay safe now and take care...

    Watching your video of Barcelona brought back memories of our October trip this year. The Nachos you had was cheaper than the price we paid at the Taco Bell that was no where near the US offerings and quality. Next stop my guess is you guys are headed for Turkey the non Schengen zone.

    Hi Brian and Carrie. We will be in Spain soon for three weeks. Enjoying your videos as you are a lot like us as far as saving money, cooking your own meals, and walking everywhere! Nice to see kindred spirits 🙂. I have a question about safety in Barcelona. Brian, I noticed you carry your digital camera on your backpack strap in front of you. I have a chest harness for mine. Did you ever feel exposed or were you just hyper aware of your surroundings? This is my only concern with Barcelona, so any safety tips would be appreciated. Happy travels you two!!

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Melody, yes, kindred spirits 😃 We felt completely safe throughout Spain. There seemed to be a large police presents in all three of our locations. The clip I have on my strap is made by Peak Design and has a lock on it, I do sometimes think about exposing myself, however. Your chest harness will be perfect. Thank you for the support and safe travels!!
      Live your dream, cheers!!!🍻

    Beautiful Barcelona! However I think one needs to "navigate" a little bit in order to avoid the tourist traps regarding restaurants and such. One other plus thing regarding taking the train is the fact that you travel city center to city center, whereas flying means a good ride out of town repeating the process into the city at arrival destination. Also, you can pack how you want- food/bottles/etc...

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 роки тому

      Very true! We were able to walk to the train station in both Valencia and Alicante. The train station in Seville was an easy cab ride as was Barcelona. Thank you!
      Cheers 🍻

    • @aftp6646
      @aftp6646 2 роки тому

      It's relatively easy to avoid tourists traps. Anything around las Ramblas should be avoided. In the old town el Born is the best place for authentic places. And else neighborhoods where the locals live like the Eixample and Gracia are a good bet.

    Thank you for all these videos. My wife and I simply love Spain and is the only destination we go to regularly. Any plans to go to Malaga area or north to San Sebastian, Bilbao, Oviedo area? Every part of Spain has its own flavor.

      @@BrianandCarrie we stayed in an Airbnb in Amurrio to visit Bilbao in August during their Semana Grande. We really thought it would be a good retirement place as there were many veggie gardens in view from the Cercanía train route into Bilbao.

    Do you have to pass through any security check before boarding the train? Are they xraying baggage like in the airport? We are enjoying being armchair travelers while watching you. Hopefully we will travel next year. Merry Christmas!

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you do go through security but it's fast and easy. They don't weigh your bags, No restrictions on liquids or separating out electronics or anything else. Just put your bags on the belt and grab them on the other side. That's it! Get out there and travel as soon as you can!!!
      Cheers 🍻
