My school gave me an iPad and it cured my phone addiction. I basically just loaded all my apps into it and deleted everything except music & gps on my phone. I leave my IPad in a stationary place. First thing that ever truly broke my addiction. (Also, no web browser ever on phone!)
Your videos are truly motivational. It’s been over a year since I decided to be more mindful of my phone usage. I’m not going to lie, i have found myself taking a few steps back and going to the bad habits of scrolling more than I wanted to. But it’s okay, I learn from my mistakes in order not to be back to square one. Life is trial and error at the end of the day :)
Extremely helpful! As always, I appreciate your insight on helping us live more intentionally. I share a couple of these methods, but definitely found the rest worthwhile! Great work on the video 👍
I love that you don't promote social media at all just email I love that other UA-camrs try to tell you break from social media but they promote on the description like theirs word and actions don't match at all
Almost twins! Lol. On my home screen all I have is mail, phone and text. No notifications. My screen is black. I have my phone set to B&W and yes I even watch your videos in B&W.
I'm revisiting this video. I'm working on this again, deciding what I use and need. I've reduced a lot and it feels almost perfect. My only game is sudoku which helps me with stress and brain function. Cleared my home screen except for my clock, weather and steps which are 1x1 widgets, so I got a lot of clear space. Then my calendar, Google Keep and screen time widgets are on a second screen. I archive messages from people I still text sometimes, but don't want in my face all the time. It clears a lot of visual overwhelm for me and any negative feeling that person/family member gives me
I love your content! Your videos are always amazing, and love the way that you express your ideas and of course, the way you edit your videos. Your hard work is noticeable, keep it up!
Thank you for the great video. I hope minimalism catches on and becomes a “main stream movement” understood by everyone. (most people don’t get it.) because, we have been “Brain washed” to believe we need to be massive consumers. Always in pursuit of affluenza and trying to achieve the same level of wealth that the baby boomers did. When the “Game” is rigged for failure. I know so many people that get up at 4 am and drive 2 hr.’s to get to work. Work 10 hrs. then drive another 2 hrs. home every day, just so they can have an expensive car to try to “Show Up” everyone. I’m done with all that B.S. I don’t care about impressing anyone any more. The veil has been lifted, it is all a lie and I will no longer play the game.
i dont have quick app or shortcut on my phone so that i dont mind to check or use over and over everytime nor need the phone. i set my drawer all app that i usually use for calling and texting below so i dont bother to use them. i only have 4 drawers depending on priorty that i use. and clean wallpaper and one thing that i use as widget calculator 😅.
I hope those offloaded photos are stored in more places than just the single hard drive. A true backup is two copies and every hard drive is destined for eventual failure.
I just discovered your channel a the other day, and I'm so grateful I did. You have truly inspired me and validated so many of my feelings. Quick question, do you have a video about subscriptions, fees, etc? I just deleted most of mine and I had the hardest time cancelling my UA-cam premium.. but then I realized that UA-cam is free. And instant gratification and the benefits of this subscription just enabled my other habits- like allowing me to listen to a video while on other apps (which is usually is me shopping or scrolling on IG). So I decided to give up this subscription too. Wondering if you have UA-cam premium or not too? And the benefit of saving? Tysm and hope this comment made sense :))
Is it coincidence that the thumbnail of this video fits with the thumbnail of the next video (more reasons i'm minimalist) when viewed with the phone? lol
This content is truly exceptional. I once read a book with related themes that altered my life's path. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
Good video but these changes are only interior to the phone and not yourself. One can make all the changes to their phone to be minimalist but unless you make changes in your own life to be more mindful of phone usage, changing your phone ain't doing nothing.
If you are going through newest then i have some information for you I know if you are watching this video then you have nothing to work on, Basically jobless....so instead of watching this improve your life...get a job and you will crave for social media but don't have enough time for it.
Hi) I can advice you to delete it as an app and log in in browser. I’ve done this a year ago and it helped! You still can watch and like your friends’ posts, but browser hasn’t got that comfortable navigation as apps so you don’t stuck there for hours.
My mistake, the app for the analog clock is actually called “Clear Spaces”.
Hey Nicholas, can you tell where to find this app? I searched and searched but the ones I see do not seem to be the one that you have. Thanks.
last year i deleted twitter, facebook and some online shopping apps on my iPhone. i don't even have games in it anymore. so far it's going great.
Same except Insta because I just can’t

I am your biggest fan and so excited for all your uploads . Electronics / phone content especially. Still can’t wait for your car vid
Thank you as always!!
I should stop watching your videos as I’m falling in love with you 🙈thanks for the smile you put on my face!
😅

Thank you as always Beatriz! I’m guilty of always falling back into the scrolling trap as well 😅
Thank you for this video, I've reset my phone today and only kept apps that I really need, and made my homescreen simplistic.
Extremely helpful! As always, I appreciate your insight on helping us live more intentionally. I share a couple of these methods, but definitely found the rest worthwhile! Great work on the video 👍
Thanks Shane!
Thank you again, Nicholas!
Another great video, Nicholas! Thanks for sharing these tips with us! Cheers from Brazil!

That guy whose wallpapers you linked in the description. Makes the best wallpapers for iPhones. So very underrated.
Considering I just lost my phone a few days ago, I am SO glad I had literally nothing on there.
Nice content. Simple and clean. Straight to the point. Always trying to take steps of removing distractions myself. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Thanks Tommy!
👍i agree with the phone beeing minimal. Working on that very good video😁
Thank you Jóhanna!

Your videos are very high-quality, I think they definitely deserve much more viewers.💙
Thank you!

Loved it as always..❤ just wanted to remind you on link of wallpaper😄
Don’t use my phone much, but my iPad is a different story. Currently binge watching a new YT channel 😁❤️
Thanks for this video.
The first few minutes I quickly declutter my homescreen and let see
I look forward to your intro!! It is so simple and clean. Great video! Keep creating
Hey Nicholas the video is as good as always but can you make a video on the essential things in kitchen....
I love your content! Your videos are always amazing, and love the way that you express your ideas and of course, the way you edit your videos. Your hard work is noticeable, keep
it up!
Great vid mate! I just recently cleaned up my phone, deleted un needed apps along with deleting old pic and such and it was a great feeling!
Great feeling I agree 😄
Thank you for your videos Nicholas. Your videos have helped me a lot in my minimalism journey
Great to hear!

😂😂I'm the same with photos of my cat🐈⬛🐈⬛. Another sensible and motivational video Nicholas. Happy Easter😊
Thank you as always Gillian, I'm glad you understand what it's like to love your cat as much as I love mine.
@@NicholasGarofola yep, understand completely ☺️☺️🐈⬛🐈⬛
redundant hard drives for your photos bro!! at least 2. minimalism is one thing, loosing your photos is not it! great channel!
Excellent video! Great that you wear a "real" watch as well!
Aw man, lovely content, Love it.

Good quality and simple advices. But monochrome mode is not for me. Couldnt even use it for 10 sec.
I hope those offloaded photos are stored in more places than just the single hard drive. A true backup is two copies and every hard drive is destined for eventual failure.
Great video! I love it! I have a question, what do you do with social media?
Temporarily disabled.. until further notice
Loved this episode, thank you! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
I do follow the same. Hope we can stay focused

Thanks so much! I don't use UA-cam premium, I could understand why one would, but I can live with the ads.
I love your content!!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching my friend!
great vid. thanks
The thing i learnt from you is "embrace the monochrome"
Nice video!
Can you please share the wallpaper link (Using Android Phone, even I couldn't find the clear spaces app)
I love your work but one question. Do you read from notes? Well, because your way with words are marvelous?🥰
Yes I do! 😅
@@NicholasGarofola Thank you for responding.
Great vid! Where did you buy the silicon case?
Amazon 😊
I have turned off the Siri app suggestions in Spotlight Search. Helps with the intentional phone use.
I like that!
❤️❤️❤️
The clock on the home screen ???Which widget?
high i know im late but how do you hide your dock
Can everybody link the used Wallpaper. I didn‘t find the exact wallpaper. And the clock Widget i also didnt find it
Is it coincidence that the thumbnail of this video fits with the thumbnail of the next video (more reasons i'm minimalist) when viewed with the phone? lol
Maybe it was on purpose!
You didnt link the wallpaper, and they app is hard to find under the name createspace?
Good catch! It’s called clear spaces

I have not 😅
