I have never heard of this gentleman before but I was channel surfing and saw him and Ms. Cynthia Gregory in The Black Swan. What a joy just to watch Mr. Bujones .The way he hits each position with precision is really beautiful. Ballet dancers are athletes. ❤
I had the privilege to know of Fernando Bujones way before he turned a star in ABT. I was working at Channel 47 as a Secretary to the Sales Executive and some friends called me to tell me about Bujones and to try to get him to work for that Channel. When I found out that he studied with Alicia Alonso I realized that he was a classical ballet dancer with a quality that did not fit that channel, I suggested having him go and meet the director of ABT and request an audition. He did and all his best years as a principal dancer and the star he became was with ABT. His quality as a dancer was perfection to a point that he danced as a guest with the greatest ballet companies all over the world. He had flawless technic and projected the emotion required in each production. One of his partners was Natalia Makarova and many famous ballerinas. My daughter and I will never forget him, he was a jewel. May he rest in peace.
This is excellent and also a great demonstration of technique. A friend of mine was reading a book about dancer, Marta Becket, and inquired about turnout as it was mentioned. As we were speaking on the phone, I had difficulty describing what could be better shown. I'll send him a link to this. What is more, Bujones is a joy to watch and so correct in every detail.
Well as I said I was not all that crazy about him as a performer -- he never stopped being Bujones -- he is less Bujones in this class vidoe than I have ever seen him!
He really was America's "Primer Danseur Noble". See, Russia didn't have all the great ballerinas! I wish he was still around... I wish he just... did a little more, got to do a little more... Thanks to the magic of pre-recording... Bujones can teach... and touch generation after generation....
judith booth You've just reminded me that I have one brilliant cassette of my mothers, for dancers that couldn't make it to class, but had to keep in shape/practice everyday, and then she went on to make an excellent video, of barre work, centre practice and exercises, both contain a full booklet inside them of everything a ballet dancer should know. Margot was thrilled with them, as after Maryon Lane retired, as principal ballerina from the RB, she became one of the Worlds greatest ballet teachers. She died 6 years ago, and I havn't known what to do with them, I'm so snowed under, with trying to sort out both of my ballet parents lives! AHHH!!! She was the best ballet teacher, worked with everyone, these items are excellent, would you be interested? They'd first have to be transferred onto cd, and the video to dvd. Or do you know anyone in London, that could help me out please? They are gems, and I think pro, ballet dancers, or the novice would love to view them.

Such a wonderful class ...He looks so perfect in each move ...a treat ...!!!
Absolutely wonderful! I’ve taken up ballet very late in life and I only wish that I had learnt when I was a child!
He is so amazing. I keep watching it, and even follow along sometimes. It's been years since I did an actual class. I've decided to go back.
Oh, Virginia, please, if you have more of these precious pearls, please, share. Thank you so much for sharing this one 🌹

Thank you so much for this. This will be very helpful for my home practice between classes.
Great! Where are you a student? Glad to know it's helpful. I have other classes although they are much longer and not with Bujones.
I loved it.
Perfection and love of dance itself he was, Alex de Ravin.
love this dancer - wish i'd seen him on stage.
I wish I could tell you how many time I have seen him -- I never cared for him much but this is all technique and he was flawless!
judith booth so maybe i haven't missed as much as i thought.
Alex de Ravin?? umm I am not sure I understand this?
judith booth when you said ' I never cared for him much' i thought perhaps i had not been so unlucky having not seen him on stage.

Ohh Judith ..what a treat !!
What an excellent example!
I did not want this to end --
Legend!!
As a performer I am not Bujones biggest fan .. As a technician .. He is hard to beat ..

Very interesting barre. Looks like choreography.
why was his one hip always up o.o
WHere could I find this class music?
+Darrius Legrand The music is an opera Aria called O mio babbino caro from the Opera Gianni Schicchi by G, Puccini. This is a pisno solo version.
But it's different ballet variations for ballet class on CD... Unless it's a live pianist...
It Will be hard to know exactly, this is an old video, nobody here have the cd even if it was one
❤️
He goes on pointe sometimes for arabesque ! :)
This is low key creepy soothing voices aren’t always a good thing
His dance belt is hurting his nuts!
Is the narrator Mr. Bujones himself?
If the women is wearing trousers why can't he, they look so much smarter.
