Apparently the director wanted to make it a 2-parter but then decided against it. And years later after seeing the 7 and 8th movie (deathly hallows part 1&2)he wished he had split Goblet of Fire into 2 movies . I think it would have been way better if he did that.

@@Pharmerlyndayes, it was an amazing game. Krum caught the snitch(150 points) but bulgaria still lost. He wanted to end the game on his terms. Harry really respected that as a seeker.
Also fred and george specifically bet someone that krum would catch the snitch but ireland would win, and they should have won a bunch of money, but the guy was scummy and ripped them off. Harry ended up giving them his triwizard tournament money(after mrs weasley refused it) and they used it to start making the experimental products that we see in the next movie!(trying not to spoil)
This movie explains why Malfoy, Crab, and Goyle all stick together, all their fathers are top death eaters.
Makes perfect sense & a crazy twist to the movie as well!
The dad crying was probably the first time tears flowed when I watched this movie and it still happens.
Definitely hit us in the feels!

I'm pretty sure someone will explain exactly why ron was upset at first but I also want to add that we forget that these are young kids going through a lot of stuff, hormones, growing up, jealousy among friends etc... so you can't really expect them to see the bigger picture all the time, they are learning and growing and this is just a part of it :)

Yeah I always frame it like this.
Ron is the second youngest out of 7, basically a middle child, but not only that molly and Arthur obviously wanted a daughter and that’s how they have so many kids… I’m sure Ron has worked that out that when they had him they had hopes he was a girl (obviously molly doesn’t love him any less but it’s just a fact) and feels insecure about that. He’s best friends with one of the top three most famous wizards of all time. His crush is also best friends with said greatest wizard of all time. His literal idol top seeker in the world is low key dating his crush. He’s dealing with normal teenage hormones on top of all the school work and extra curriculars.
The kid has a LOT going on as well. It’s totally fair that he had a streak of just not wanting to deal with Harry’s stuff on top of his own for once.
The purpose of the Yule Ball is to find out who each champion treasures. Professor McGonnagal tells the students that the Yule Ball has been part of the Triwizard Tournament since the beginning. That’s because the Second Task has always been to rescue a loved one. How better to find out who each champion treasures than to hold a dance & see who they invite? Krum invited Hermione, Cedric’s date was Cho Chang & even though Harry asked the Patil twins he spent most of his time with Ron, moping & waiting for it to be over. I don’t know how the organizers of the tournament knew Fleur’s greatest treasure was her little sister but the child was seen with Fleur when Beauxbatons arrived at Hogwarts.
In the book Fleur insisted on bringing her sister or something. There was a reason Gabrielle was the only person that came from Beauxbatons that was under age.
3:10 They all spend some of the summer at the Burrow. Harry and Hermione still live elsewhere.
The other magical schools are
- Durmstrang Institute, in Scandanavia - a lot of emphasis on the training of Dark Arts, and do not admit Muggle-Borns.
- Beauxbaton's Academy of Magic, in France - Nicholas Flammel attended, the creator of the Philosopher's Stone (Beauxbatons is NOT an all-female school)
And the others mentioned throughout the lore are:
- Koldovstoretz, in Russia - not much is known aside from the fact they play a Quiddich-like game on WHOLE trees not brooms.
- Uagadou, in Africa - the largest school in the world, just dumb skilled in Astronomy, Alchemy, and Self-Transfiguration (becoming an Animagus) and wandless magic.
- Castelobruxo, in Brasil - experts in Herbology and Magizoology, have an exchange program with Hogwarts.
- Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, North America - the newest school, inspired by Hogwarts, excellent mastery of wand magic.
- Mahoutokoro, in Japan - exceptional Quiddich players and academics, the smallest but one of the oldest schools.

A big part of the reason that Ron is so bitter for the first half is that he has ALWAYS felt second best - he’s the youngest boy of 6, and his mom always wanted a daughter. They’ve always had no money. And then his best friend is the most famous wizard in the world. They show this a bit in the first movie too, when he looks into the mirror of erised and he sees himself as quidditch captain and head boy etc. He’s just always felt second best to someone else, and he finally was so excited to have his best friend by his side to watch the shenanigans of the tournament this year, only to be overshadowed once again. Definitely can be considered an overreaction, but at least you can understand a bit more about where he’s coming from (and this is also important to remember in the future movies too). Love the reactions!! 😊
That makes perfect sense. We figured that was why he was acting that way & it was bc he was jealous & Harry was always naturally better than everyone else at everything can be hard to watch! Plus Harry had those VBUCKS & Ron didn’t. It’s easy to say it’s overreacting but when putting yourself in his shoes it’s easy to see how it can happen! We appreciate you & your support💙

Watching Neville be forced to watch crucio performed in class always upset me. His parents were tortured into physiological breaks by Bellatrix using that curse and live at St. Mungo’s hospital with complete memory loss. Neville and is grandma go visit on holidays, but they have no memory of him being their son 😢
It was definitely sad seeing him act how he did when seeing the spider be tortured. Can’t imagine the trauma & emotional stress he was under.

The next movie (Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix) will introduce several new characters. One is the most hated, another is one of the most beloved & the third is crazy & one of the most feared because of it.
Cedric Diggory (Twilight) is in house Hufflepuff. Never forget, if you get a friend in a Hufflepuffer, you will have a lifetime long loyal friendship.
In the maze, Krum was under the influence of an imperius curse.
Barty Crouch Jr/ Madeye wanted Harry to reach the cup so Krum did not zap him because the Imperius curse was for Cedric.

They could not have cast a better actor than Ralph Fiennes to play Voldemort. He absolutely nailed this role and always does a phenomenal job of playing evil villains! He played the real mass murderer Amon Goeth, an SS Official for Adolph Hitler in "Schindler's List" and then serial killer Frances Dollarhyde in The Silence of the Lambs trilogy movie "Red Dragon." He originally turned down the role of Voldemort because he had just made Schindlers List and was afraid of being type cast as only evil characters but his niece or nephew I believe, talked him into reading the books and then accepted the role after realizing how amazing and complex the books and characters are. I'm so glad he did because i truly don't believe anyone else could have done this character justice or brought the evil, unhinged creepiness to the role!❤

The position of Defence Against The Dark Arts was cursed by Voldemort/Tom Riddle when Dumbledore refused him the post after Tom finished his schooling ...from then on the teachers only stayed 1 year...

Crucio.. torture.. Neville's parents were tortured by a dark wizard you'll meet in future films..the parents are now confined in a hospital for their care..not even recognizing their son.. Neville was raised by his grandmother

Blood..from his enemy..with Harry's blood flowing through him Lily's protection couldn't keep him from touching Harry any longer

There's a new dark arts teacher every year because the position was cursed when Voldemort / Tom Riddle applied for it and he was denied. The curse was no teacher would last/ survive more than a year

This is a common misconception. If you watch with the subtitles on, Lucius starts to say "vera" not "avada." I don't remember what happens in the book, but Lucius is not stupid enough to try offing Harry right outside of Dumbledore's office 😂
@@Halestar39 The way I understand it, the actor who played Lucius hadn't read the books, and the only spell he could remember was Avada Kedavra, which is why he started to say it. He didn't even know what that spell was supposed to do.
First task, Dragons: Krum uses a Conjunctivitis Curse (he didn't think to fly🥴), Fleur uses a Sleeping Trance on the dragon and a water-making spell on its fire, Cedric used Transfiguration (turned a rock into a dog) to distract the dragon, Harry flew.
Second task, Black Lake: Fleur and Cedric both use the Bubble Head Charm, Harry used Gillyweed, and Krum attempted full Self Transfiguration into a shark, it only worked on his head which was definitely good enough to breathe underwater.
1st task Harry's Dragon never broke loose in the book!!!!!!!!

Krum wasn't trying to completely turn himself into a shark. He did what he intended to do, which was a form of "incomplete transfiguration". Fully transfiguring oneself is extremely complex magic, which most students would never attempt.
@@marshallpeters7174 Either way it was an imperfect spell because his teeth weren't sharp enough to bite through the ropes. Harry had to find him a sharp rock to free Hermione
So yes Hermione was upset during class because of the empathy she feels for Neville and Harry. Obviously Harry's parents were killed by the killing curse "Avada Kedavra" but also Neville lives with his grandmother because his parents were tortured by the torturing curse "Crucio" until it drove them insane and they had to be institutionalized. It's very sad and Neville has always been a truly brave Gryffindor and underdog. Love him.❤️

I think I read somewhere that Barty Crouch Jr. was actually in Azkaban for some time (I’m paraphrasing). When he was accused, his mother was devastated but Barty Crouch Sr. even beforehand was very neglectful of his son, and I think (again, paraphrasing) he only cared that his reputation was ruined.
Then junior’s mom got really sick and on her deathbed, her last wish to Barty Crouch Sr. was that he get their son out of Azkaban. I think she suggested switching places with junior and use the poly juice potion so no one would suspect junior was actually out of prison. So she died in Azkaban.
Up until the Goblet of Fire plot, Barty Crouch Sr. actually had Barty Crouch Jr. under the imperious curse so he couldn’t escape and also hid him under an invisibility cloak so that no one could see him. When the World Cup came around, Barty Crouch Jr. actually escaped the imperious curse, (there was an elf involved, but I can’t remember what happened with that part) and that’s when you see him casting the spell into the sky. The rest is history.

The Crouch's house elf was Winky. In the books, she had a role to play. In Goblet, she was given clothes when Jr. escaped her, making her a free elf. Having nowhere to go, she ended up at Hogwarts which is where Dobby was working -- as a free elf. Unlike Dobby, Winky was never happy being a free elf.
Since one of you is a hufflepuff I hope that after u finish this series you do the fantastic beasts and where to find them series- ur man will be pumped as the main character is a hufflepuff!

I don't know why in the movie they made it look as though the cheap seats were terrible, when they're actually like the best seats you can get for quidditch in fact in the book Harry Ron and his entire family were sitting with the minister of Magic on the same level.
not just the same level, they were litterally in his box, along with the Malfoys and high ranking foreign diplomats
In the book, Malfoy's reaction was to ask Mr. Weasley what he had to sell to get those tickets. "Surely your house couldn't have brought that much!" Mr. Weasley had gotten the tickets through a connection from his job at the Ministry, and they were the best seats in the house.

No one asked for this but yet here I am talking on my Myrtle BS again so ... welcome to: The Polyjuice Potion, Snapes pillaged stores, and how Moaning Myrtle was unintentionally the key.
As we know at the end of this movie, Barty Jr. was making and using Polyjuice Potion to appear as the shape of Moody (you need a sample of the persons hair, which is why he needed to keep the real Moody locked up but also easily accessible). The first big clue is when Harry goes to the bathrooms to listen to the Golden Egg and he has a chat with Myrtle, she was there for the second year Polyjuice Potion concoction: it took a month to make, it was in her bathroom, and Hermione turned into a literal cat woman. Myrtle teases Harry about notcing Polyjuice Potion remnants or ingredients in the pipes, someones been flushing it, and says, more or less, "are you guys doing this shit again?", Harry is confused, sas no, and then begins to ask her about the egg and Cedric. The topic is dropped.
Back to the second movie, when Hermione studies the Polyjuice Potion, she notes that the Boomslang Skin and Lacewing Flies are stupid hard to get, bc it's is an Advanced potion. Cut to Snape in this movie, he accuses Harry of stealing these exact ingredients, he says point blank that "you and your little friends a brewing Polyjuice Potion, and believe me, I'm going to find out why!" - confirming that there really is someone in the school regularly using, making and discarding excess of Polyjuice; so much so that Myrtle has picked it up in the plumbing system, and Snape is on a warpath.
The only clue to the fact that Moody is the drinker of the potion is his reaching for the hip-flask so often (Polyjuice Potion only lasts an hour I think); but that 'hip flask' can be explained away by the fact that he's an Auror and has Seen Some Shit and needs a little something to take the edge off, as everyone just assumes.
In conclusion, everyone needs to listen to Myrtle - this bitch, intentionally or not, always knows whats up.
Ginny from the block 😂😂. On a side note, Volde could touch him because harry's blood was used in the spell to bring Volde back.

*Nothing about the books or movies* The "Cursed Child" is a stage-play the author wrote, that is centered around bringing Cedric, Hufflepuff, back using time travel. Set 20ish years after the story ends. Just adding a little trivia.

The north American school is Ilvermorney. You will see Fleur again in the last 2 films. Harry is powerful against Voldemort for various reasons that will be reveled in later films. Against other powerful witches and wizards, Harry does not do as well. Chow is a Ravenclaw, a year older than Harry. You will meet another important Ravenclaw in the next film (who is a year younger than Harry) . Also look out for Draco's Hufflepuff (though she's left school) cousin, a 'metamorphagus' (shape shifter).

Dumbledore spoke some of the most honest, intelligent and inspiring quotes from any movie. The books are absolutely full of the wisest, most emotional and motivational quotes from so many different awesome characters. 👌🏼 Love Dumbledore though!

Harry thought he was finally about to have a chill year at hogwarts and its actually one of his worst 😂 even ron hates him a good portion of the book. Its such a downer the entire time. And then right when everything gets better and you think he won, the graveyard scene happens. Its brutal. Honestly a huge turning point for how dark it gets. Harry saw someone die, and it changes him a lot. Not to mention cedric was only in the graveyard bc harry is so noble. Like if he was selfish for one second and just took the cup to win, it would have been just him. But thats not harry. So now harry is constantly questioning if anyone should come with him anywhere bc he brings death to those around him. Poor boy 😭
PERFECTLY EXPLAINED! Felt bad for Harry & this is probably only the beginning of it all. Everyone kept saying things took a dark turn this movie on the last reaction & we see why. There’s so much pressure on Harry to be the protector when he’s so young while still having to look over his back 24/7! Now that Voldemort is here i can’t imagine the mindset he’ll be in going forward. RIP young twilight, Ceddy😢
Harry Potter was 14 in this movie, the actor Daniel Radcliffe who plays Potter was 16 at the time this was released. Others explained the Ron thing with inferiority complex, but also Ron's parents always struggled. The US Dollar equivalent of $50,000 was the prize. Ron was upset that Harry managed to get his name into the Goblet of Fire and didn't tell Ron and the twins how to do it.. I enjoyed watching with you!

@@DaKidsReact Harry wished many times that he could help the Weasleys out with his money, but he knew they would feel insulted if he even offered. They would have refused anything that might have been seen as charity.
@@knata78 Fred and George only accepted the money after Harry told them he'd throw it away if they didn't take it, as he absolutely didn't want it. He did ask them to buy Ron a good set of dress robes with some of it.

1:19:26 Chamber of Se rets is still my son's favorite to this day and he's 20 now and started reading them over 10 years ago. He likes the whimsicalness of the earlier movies, rather than the darker turn the story takes starting in the third one.
I (swizz) still think that chamber of secrets is the best one so far (BARELY FIRST THOUGHT) but its still early in the series to say that for us!
Ron and Hermione has had a thing for each other a while already at this point.... My personal perspective on that is that Ron needs time to mature as a person (Hermione is far ahead as I think you'll agree) and to understand his own feelings. At this point he doesn't even understand that he's jealous

My guy, we appreciate you & this message! Growing up, especially in our community, Harry Potter was definitely frowned upon/looked down on, same w/ anime. I (swizz) actually saw a post on FB like 2 days before we watched the first movie saying, “No matter how bored i get i will never watch HP” & had thousands of likes/shares/comments agreeing & i (swizz) decided why not just see what it has to show for?! After watching these & putting ourselves in the shoes of watching it as a teenager or kid makes it that much more special for us since we didn’t get that opportunity. We appreciate you💙 The reason i (Swizz) have to turn the volume down on some parts is due to the copyright music they play in the background. Other channels don’t show much of the actual film which is why they get away w/ having the volume up. I try to show more screen which calls for me having to compensate for it.
@React Completely understand, the reason why I would like for it to be louder is that I sometimes watch the reactions when I go to sleep and I cannot just crank up the volume of speakers that loud and this way I have a hard time following what you are reacting to

I don’t know if someone has already explained this or not but the reason there is a different defense against the dark arts teacher every year is hinted at in the 6th book so IF YOU PLAN ON READING THE BOOKS DO NOT READ FURTHER CUZ IT CONTAINS A SMALL SPOILER FROM THE BOOKS (has no impact in movie spoilers at all because they do not include this in the movies): but Voldemort applied to be the dark arts teacher after 10 years of leaving hogwarts but Professor Dumbledore said no & Voldemort was obviously pissed so Dumbledore speculates that Voldemort placed a curse on the position because ever since he turned Voldemort down, he has never been able to keep a DADA teacher for more than a year ever since that point.

Hermione turned 15 a couple weeks after school started in Sept. Krum is 17/18. Ron turns 15 before the end of the school year but Harry doesn't turn 15 until 1 (edit) months before school starts in Sept of the next year.
Harry’s birthday is July 31st & school starts September 1st so his birthday is one month before school resumes. Wish the movies didn’t make it look like Harry’s birthday is the same as the start of school.
