New Bike Day! Charlie Hatton shreds brand new Atherton AM.170

Atherton Bikes have launched a hard-hitting, big mountain enduro bike with a mixed wheel configuration, straight through seat-post and 170mm of rear travel.
With Dan Atherton, the prototype bike’s chief tester, out of action with a broken wrist, filming duties for this short edit fell to Continental Atherton’s Charlie Hatton.
Charlie said “I’m super impressed with the capabilities of the new AM.170, I knew it would be good but it totally exceeded my expectations. It’s so stable whilst descending, it makes you just wanna go faster. It feels like a mini downhill bike but the best part is you can climb back up and do run after run. I think you can tell from the film that I absolutely loved it… and beat the boys on their ebikes back to the top  ”
The AM.170 includes all the learnings from Atherton’s DH mullet bike that saw Charlie deliver a career best 2022 World Cup season with three top tens and team-mate Andi Kolb on the podium four times; so it’s unsurprising that it would be awesome on the downhill but it also builds upon the award-winning AM.150 so it’s super-efficient on the climbs… Dan Atherton alternates between throwing it around the Oakley line and heading off into the Dyfi backcountry on massive enduro loops… it’s versatile!
Prices start from £4500 for a frameset which includes a Fox DHX2 Coil or Fox Float X2 shock, full builds with a choice of 170mm or 180mm travel upfront start at £6950. As with all of Atherton’s AM range customers can change out or exclude components for their own dream build.
