And she has to be a mouthpiece for liberal Twitter users with every line, just randomly saying stuff like “I’m gonna dismantle the patriarchy!” When nobody was talking about that. And she (The only leading dark skin, fully black, heavy-set, female character) is the only one who talks like that. She’s such a token, it’s actually painful. And just when I thought we were gonna see some Black love *finally* instead of a swirl ship- NOOOOOOO, her boyfriend has to be all weird and unsupportive. As a heavy-set Black girl, I really wanted to like her but it’s glaringly obvious that because she is a part of so many marginalized groups, they’re using her for woke points with the constant virtue signaling lines and pretentious wokeness. I know this didn’t have much to do with the video but I just wanna know if anyone else sees what I see. (EDIT: since y’all wanna focus in on what I said about Howie, I get that it was a misunderstanding I didn’t word it the best way but that’s what they made it seem like at the time and I was a lil frustrated and they also started arguing a lot before the relationship even took off and I just wanted to see a Black-on-Black relationship that wasn’t so turbulent, ya know?) And why did they make her be so rude to Big Red in that scene?( 0:09 )There was no reason for that dirty look. That’s a prime example of them making her play into the “sassy Black woman” trope as well. P.S. - Watch them make her break up with Howie and realize that she’s Bi and start dating a girl as an “F you!” To men instead of it being due to an attraction to women. Then they’ll make her constantly bring up how men are such garbage and girls are much better and being Bi will be her only personality trait. Sorry if I worded this in a way that sounds like thinly veiled homophobia but I feel like because she’s already a token, they’ll try and cram as much “representation” as they can into one character. It’s bad for her, I fear.

Am i the only one who hates kourtney? every main character has a black girl friend who is or a feminist or very sassy, do netflix or disney plus know not all black teens are like that?
If you watch season two, things went in different way. Nini is the one who supports her to express her feelings towards a boy that she likes and always by her side when they know about Howey background. Kourtney isn't really that type of strong girl that we all thought she could be. She even admit that she just act strong infront of her friend and hates boy drama when she confess to Howey.
Watch season 2. It gets alot better. I think she just seemed stereotypical because she as a character was not complex. She also didn't get a whole lot of story if u think about it. In season 2, she is actually a person. Same with Carlos and Seb. They all get alot more depth, you just have to be patient
