      Disney picks their stories and actors like a blind grandma who tries to park in between two Ferraris backwards.
      I remember a time when Disney was actually able to *modernize* stories without stepping on everyone's common sense - Kiss The Frog and Tangled were both great movies I still enjoy watching.
      Now, we have Non Snow White and The Seven Questionable Fellows.
      It's a shame.

    I remember the classic Snow White movie. The Prince only appears twice in the movie: the beginning and the end. He NEVER stalked Snow White like Zeggler claims. At most at the beginning, he was just passing by when he hears her singing and he goes to investigate cause he's like "Who's singing this wonderful melody?" Apparently that counts as "stalking" in today's age.

    The original 1937 animation had two main characters, both women. Snow White who by strength of character and beauty was able to convince seven men to provide a safe refuge from the evil queen's vengeance. Meanwhile the queen who was so powerful, self-centered and driven by hate that she was willing to sacrifice her own beauty by turning herself into an ugly hag to fulfill her evil plan to destroy Snow White by getting her to eat a poisoned apple. The prince who only appeared at the beginning and end of the story, appeared more as an aspect of love conquers all and to give the tale a happy ending which is always the audience's hope in any story.
    For Racheal Zeglar to proclaim that she sees her character as a ''girl boss'' is laughably stupid as the original story did exactly that, but her hollow version is devoid of any love fulfilled aspect which is so counterintuitive to an audience's expectations.

    How did love become so demonized by women?
    I'm generally not very romantic, prone to emotion, or anything that typically defines someone who would be interested in romance, but I do like it! I want my leads to find allies, and when one of them is romantic, it makes me happy. It's not weak to want a partner, it's not weak to find a special relationship compelling.

    • @drlca6601
      @drlca6601 Рік тому +13

      Yeah and Yellowstone 1923 absolutely nailed this dynamic... There's still room for romance-that both men and women can enjoy... but it is extremely rare to see it executed well these days, whereas you might see such engaging romantic storylines in big blockbusters quite commonly at the end of the '90s and early 2000s.

      Because women like that are aggressively single and the alternative to demonizing love would be admitting that the fact they have no man and can't get one worth a damn is a failing on their own part. When forced to choose between demonizing themselves/taking accountability or blaming/demonizing literally anything else, the outcome is quite predictable😅

    • @Russ0107
      @Russ0107 Рік тому

      I believe they think it makes them look weak to want love. They misunderstood all the bad advice from wanna-be therapists saying it's co-dependence to need someone in your life when in reality it is human to need someone. They want to atomize society so we are all easier to manipulate, and so we buy more and more useless shit to fill the void that a real relationship with someone leaves. They want everyone miserable, because miserable people spend lots and lots of money. Especially miserable women. That's what the pharmaceutical industry is, it's a monetization of misery and illness. Think of the large blocks of the modern economy that are entirely propped up by the depressed, the angry, and the miserable. What fraction of the world's GDP comprises unwarranted spending by these people? Lord only knows but it's some gargantuan portion. The governments of the world long ago discovered that happiness is antithetical to the growth of the economy. So they choose to stimulate it with artificial chaos -- that's what all of this insanity has been about.

Gal Gadot is to good looking to be envious of Snow White whoever plays her, the queen should be 15 years old or look 15 years older than Gal Gadot does, a women who was once very beautiful but now has lost her youthful beauty, which is a great story, both young people with a brain and older people who have experienced the loss of beauty and vitality to age should be able to understand the queen’s story even though she has become evil.

It's similar in Sleeping Beauty, too. So trying to re-write SW, or any other disney classic, into a girlboss' wet-dream flies in the face of telling stories with universal truthes.

      The tim Burton one? I think it said something about being whoever and whatever you wanted? Not following rules or listening to the culture you were born in, and that if someone is snobby they are basically trash tier
      It was such a destruction of the originals art, themes, and characters that I couldn't help but scoff and reject it, but she kept saying "it's just a movie"

    So when Ziegler talks about the potential that they could entirely remove the prince's scenes from the movie, and seems to be hinting at the idea that they essentially have scenes to go in both directions, snow white falls for the prince, or the prince is entirely irrelevant. Like did they shoot two entirely different movies side by side? Im guessing doing so to keep an eye on social media to see our responses to this. And im guessing because of the backlash we're probably gonna get the prince version of the movie, and the rings of power girl boss version of snow white will never see the light of day lmao

    "It's not 1937 anymore."
    Wise words from such a brilliant young mind. At the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1937 in [Your Time Zone], it was no longer 1937. It was, in fact, 1938. But that was 85 years ago this past January 1st.
    What few knew then, and even fewer know now, is that it would be only 5 days and 83 years until January 6th.

    3:12 Something dumb in this interview is that she talks about the antiquated notions of women in roles of power in the story, completely ignoring that there is a powerful witch Queen at the centre of it. Or maybe she doesn't count cuz she's evil??!?!

    Like most narcissists, Zeglar is convinced affection for another is distasteful and weak. Such individuals' ideals of love apply only to love for one's self, and amassing the adorations of others for achieving such an enlighten state of human emotion.
    Meanwhile, real human beings just see red flags whenever a narcissist preaches their ideals of self-empowerment at the cost of altruistic relationships and fundamental family bonds.
    What a disgusting caricature of human emotion. Hope Disney ejects her into reality with all the grace and candor a pink slip can muster.

    We went from the Vaudeville era of Broadway and early Hollywood, where early actors *WERE* multi-talented (that was part of what defined Vaudeville, actors with multiple talents would get up on stage and sing, play instruments, crack jokes, act sincere while telling good stories (sometimes while wearing blackface [black meme boy: das rwacist!)], and improvise) to a modern era where women with all the acting and social skills of a plank of cacao tree wood [distorted black meme boy: da-as rwa-a-a-cist!)] torpedo their own film before release day by telling people it is going to be the most heavy-handed audience lecturing cultural marxist garbage imaginable.

    It's amazing how they don't understand their own story.
    To be fair means to be physically beautiful, yes, but the story is also about to the beauty within. The queen was consumed by jealousy when she learned that Snowhite's beauty was a match to hers. While the queen would do terrible things to get rid of Snowhite, the young girl's innocence, kindness and purity of heart yould keep her safe. Whereas the queen harboured so much envy, malice, and resentment that all her ugliness came forth as she turned into a hag.

    And now Disney company is making a complete mockery of it with another soulless cash grab remake in the present day.

      In the original, "fairness" actually referred to _paleness of skin,_ itself indicative of youth and lack of wear and tear from going outside/performing strenuous physical labor. It's practically a human universal that paler skin is correlated with beauty in most cultures (for the reasons I described). And since Gadot very clearly has _fairer skin_ than Zegler, Disney's failure here hits twice as hard.
