ah crap... my NEF is a SB1... I was REAAALLY hoping i could use one of these awesome 45-70 barrel inserts ( whenever they actually have any back in stock again..lol) inside my NEF Pardner once I get it modded out. Im getting the Survival stock and storage foreend.... hmm.. If I cant go with the 45-70.. are there any other descently powerful rifle inserts anyoone makes? I was really excited about the 45-70 because my uncle owned a Marlin 45-70... my fav gun ive ever fired... love that round.
I have two of the NEF Pardners. They both have fixed full chokes, so all I shoot in them is bird shot or buckshot. The .410/45 Colt Survivor has a removable Choke that you remove to shoot .45 Colt.
I just got it out and a Shell fell out; What I will do now is remove the two screws on the left side of the stock and remove the shell holder. Next remove the two screws in the end of the shell holder place a rubber flat washer on the two screws and see if that works.
$199 for the Survivor at a pawn shop, and $150 for the Tamer at a local gun shop. As soon as they quit production in 2015, the used price went up. The Remington made ones are a real value, because people think they are less quality than the Marlin made ones; but they work just fine.
CHOATE MACHINE & TOOL, INC. Google this you should be able to find it. UA-cam's unamerican anti second amendment policy will ban me if I post links to purchase gun parts. H&R Tamer Buttstock .410 Model (holds 4 shells) H&R Survivor Stock
Not safely; you need to fire only the caliber stamped on the barrel. There are numerous calibers that will fire in a .410 chamber; some shotguns will survive the pressure some will blow up, and no good way to tell because they were not designed for the higher pressures. The .45 "Long" Colt is a relatively low pressure, but the chamber is cut different before the forcing cone on the combo .410/45 Colt compared to a .410 only barrel. Is it safe no, can you find people on UA-cam doing it yes. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean you should.
There was a snake charmer in 410 also.

@@Garden-Guns nice ty for the info sir!
I really wish i could find one of the single shot 45-70s with a tapped reciever....
H&R Handi Rifle SB2 .45/70 is what you want. The one with iron sights only was the Buffalo Classic.
Check out the Henry single shot 45/70
Kewl!....great review
I have the tamer and really like it! Too bad they went bye-bye.
What's the 100-yard accuracy with the .45 like?
@@ChristopherJackson-pr2qw very poor. There's no rifleing its a smooth bore. I am amazed how well it does do in close. It's really a garden gun.
do your extra 3 shells fall out of the tamer when you shoot it? i know you can tighten it with the two screws, but i cant seem to get it tight enough.
Before I tightened it they did!

How much did you pay for them.?

The Rossi Tuffy is pretty neat and goes for 150 brand new.
Today I bought a survivor at a pawn shop, it was $199.00

Can the stock smooth bore shotgun barrel on the .410 safely fire a .45 long colt? or are you useing a larger gauge with a .410/45lc insert?
