I persuaded a mate and couple of female friends who wanted to get into shooting to buy the 20 bore version of this 3 years ago when they were £450. They all three really love them and shoot excellently with them. The 30 inch version in 20 bore is effectively an "assisted opener" because it opens itself and ejects easily just by moving the lever across so very fast to reload in the field. Ultra light too so they make a great second everyday working gun around the farm without having to worry about scratching an expensive gun. These little guns cannot be beaten at the price.
I bought a Rizzini .410 about seven years ago. I love it. It's effective within the limitations of the bore, about 25 yards, possibly 30 yards. It's my rabbit gun and I shoot as soon as I safely can. Use small shot and an open choke. You will have pattern density. Even No 8 shot has enough energy to penetrate and kill cleanly.
My wife has one(Yildiz) 410 and the 20. She prefers the.410 because of a shoulder problem but we all end up shooting it. Good bit of fun but we have had a couple of quite derogatory comments. However it has become apparent that people who know shooting are quite complimentary when you hit stuff with it because they just know what it is and what you can use it for.
My first shotgun was a .410, followed closely behind by a 20 gauge. For upland birds, I really like the 28 gauge. One thing is for sure, a person will quickly come to realize that they are either a "shotgunner" or not when they use a .410 or even 28ga. Great video!
You should ask your Beretta rep to get you a 687 Silver Pigeon III Sporting in a 410/28 2 barrel set. This set will come with 30 inch barrels and possibly a EELL wood upgrade so they do run a bit heavy, about 6 1/2 lbs. What you will find is a gun with a comb height equal to a Browning 525 Sporting and a wonderfully stable small bore that shoots much like a 20 or 12 gauge. It really is amazing what an additional 2, or 4 inches of barrel length will do. I'll also tell you that a 100 round session with the 28 gauge barrels mounted will have you wonder why anyone bothers with all that mass for ammo and gun when shooting a 12 gauge. Quite simply the 28 can do anything the 12 can do and 100 rounds of 28 gauge is much easier to carry. Yes, I do have one of these sets and 70% of my Skeet practice is done with the 410, it's less cost to home load, it's a great tool for developing precision and just plain fun to shoot.
There's a lot of snobbery around guns . I bought the exact gun you have demonstrated. People laughed until they had a go of it. For the money there is no better gun the finish etc the wood is comparable with a lot of grade 3 guns . Koffs are also very good however they struggle to cycle the magnum cartridges .Cartridge choice is paramount if you just want a bit of fun most cartridges will suffice . However buy the magnums 1400fps and people don't laugh when they see you hitting targets that they miss with a 12 . I traded up to a Ceasuer Gurrinni 410 to enter specific competitions . A different 410 expirience entirely. 32 inch barrels and also heavier . Amazing

First, let me just say I greatly enjoy your videos as here in the U.S. it's not always easy to find good detailed information on fine double shotguns made in Europe and the U.K. As of today I officially own my first "best gun," a Grulla Armas 216 with a matched set of 26" barrels in 28 gauge and .410 bore made in 1996. Went to the gun shop planning to buy a nice Winchester 23 Golden Quail in 28 gauge, but when I saw the Grulla I fell in love. The fact that it came with the second barrel, the original box and a leather case was just an added bonus. Set me back a fair amount, but worth every penny!

'No, it's a yildiz .410 (sbs) I've seen you shoot your Yeoman this season and see the fun you have with it so I've just bought this'. He loves it.

A .410 shooter would be hard pressed to wear one out in 4 lifetimes.

Hi jonny, I shoot both 4/10 and 28 bore regularly. Moving from 12 bore to 4/10 for instance. You have to make a conscious decision to relax your grip and don't over accelerate your gun movement. Which in a lot of cases people hang on to it, as if their life depends on it, being way to stiff, swinging through the target and into the next county. Game shooting with a 4/10 can be very rewarding. My son and myself shot a few rounds of, Ball Trap with 4/10s, shooting 16/25 and 19/25 respectively. When i wasn't using the Yildiz there was always another shooter trying it out. Everyone loved the little gun and not once did anyone say it was a cheap gun. Everyone shot well with it and the walnut stock is way too nice for a gun priced this cheap.
I was always told the 410 was unrealistic for sporting clays, LIES! I bought a set of browning 32" and haven't shot anything but the 410 in a couple years. It's just so much more fun it's worth the shell cost to me.
I recently bought the 20ga. 24" barrel version , unfortunately it had a barrel regulation issue and is off to Briley's for hopefully a barrel replacement. I do not hold that against Yildiz though, and my next purchase will likely be the 28ga. version. You wouldn't believe the beauty of the fiddleback wood stock on this $500 O/U, I stopped at a large sporting goods chain on the way home from my purchase that had Brownings & Berettas in a glass case priced 6X as much- no comparison.
My 9 year old shoots that youth version at the start of the video with 7g & 11g cartridges. He can hit 20yd crossers and 25-30yd driven clays all day. After nearly 800 rounds this year it’s in great shape and no sign of wear.
Earlier in the year I bought a 2nd hand Rem 870 pump gun in.410 and adore it. I shoot maiinly 2 1/2 inch hulls with 9 shot and it's just a heap of fun. So nice to shoot.
Jonny, Excellent and balanced review. A friend of mine bought several shotguns from Yildiz. The trigger is the Achilles heel of this gun. Too heavy and gritty. But, yes, Yildiz guns are a good value for money. Perry P., Southern California, USA
@@efaciler2462as a person that owns and did the bulk of his hunting with a 410 due to my experience level I taken a considerable amount of rabbit between 35-45 yards with it and the worse that’s happened was having a rabbit trying to drag itself on its front legs because his rear were completely out of service which could happen with any bore using 6 shot at that range on a rabbit in stride. Your comment sounds about right for an under experienced and over gunned person makes. Get something aside from a 12 and test your skill though I bet you miss a lot like a good bit of ppl do even using a 12 😂. If it’s something you use regularly you know its capability. There’s a guy that duck hunts religiously with a 28 bore and his success rate is as high and at times higher than guys that religiously hunt with 12’s. There are also a lot of guys on UA-cam that religiously hunt with 12’s that step down to 410 time to time to test their skill
I have one similar to this, I don't use it for clays. I use it more for hunting. I shoot boxes of shells, not cases, but it works fine for informal hunting. I don't feel bad when I scratch it. So, there is that.
Interesting video, nice to see someone give a fair review of a 410. I shot nothing but a 410 for 12 years and never felt at a disadvantage ,driven game ,pigeons ,clays all die the same if you have pattern. I found 7s the best.
I’ve got one but the non ejector, great little gun and takes up the slot in my cabinet nicely and the wood is almost as nice as an old DT 11 I once had 😂
Wow £600 is steep for a Yildiz. The same gun in Australia costs about AU$900-950 which is about £100 cheaper. Recently the 410 and 12 gauge SPZ has been on sale at a gun shop near me for about AU$750 which is just over £400. Most of our prices are pretty steep in Australia but apparently not with the Yildiz
There are some very famous outdoor writers from both sides of the pond that would say the .410 bore is for the range and for ground game but not for game birds.
I totally agree w/ you. It's a great gun for Rabbits & feral cats but percentagewise it's a crippler on birds. I have done a lot of hunting upland, 35 years, every season, every day. For upland birds (Hawaii where I live) in heavy cover you just have to go w/ the 12. For heavy cover I had a Remington "Special Field" 12 and for more open hunting on ranchland I had a Ruger "Red Label" both in 12. They work very well on feral cats too by the way.
tell that to carlo rizzini and the 410 club. he has no problem killing pheasents , qual and grouse with his 410. he also shoots box birds or live pigeon whith a 410
@@GMec78 watch some of carlo`s videos. the ones where he patterns all the 410 loads available. to bad mcintosh has passed away. he would enjoy carlo`s videos too
I'm not a current shotgun user , but I have been in the past , my first shotgun was a Belgian side lever hammer gun , 2.5 inch , 410 , with heavily pitted barrels and no remaining bluing , unlike you I've never owned a premium gun, but that little 410 would drop walked up pheasant, up to 30 yards or so ..., pigeon out to 40 yards , and even close range corvids ....I'd have given my full set of Teath to own that yilditz, I've owned a knackered out cogswell and harrison , side lock with 30 inch barrels in 12 bore ( my favourite gun ever) got a ring bulge in the full choke barrel, and i scrapped it ....would love u to do a comparison say between a lanber o/u and the equivalent yildintz ....I've owned 2 lanbers, one 80's and a late 90's as new one , but 410 is a potent calibre, and should be in everyone's cabinet .
Jonny, As most .410’s are now being made with steel proofed “fleur de lis” barrels, when are we going to see Hull Cartridge etc, coming out with Steel .410 cartridges? And I mean effective good quality ones at that!! Or are we just going to waste money buying a gun that we can’t shoot when the UK 🇬🇧 lead shot ban takes effect? Thanks D.
.410 is going to be low on their priority list for sure, given the cost of developing new bio wads per calibre. They will come, just going to take time
If you’re going to fall in love with shooting a .410 (I love my Superposed .410 skeet), you’d better also fall in love with reloading (I love my PW 850+). BTW, an aluminum O/U is a POS no matter what name you put on it; only for the occasional shooter.
Why obsolete? Plenty shoot steel from 410s elsewhere, Winchester Fe6 @1400fps. Look for hagerman wings farm .410 hunt to see what that load does on mallards with a 1/2 choke 25 yards and in. No problem. Federal also makes a Fe6/1400fps load. BOSS makes copper plated bismuth loads sizes UK 4,5,6 @1325fps
@@NWer-c5u I think you may be in the States, over here in the UK the general consensus seems to be that the industry just isn’t geared up to producing a reasonably priced non-lead alternative for the 410. That’s a real shame, I love the small gauge and would invest in another if I knew they had a future this side of the pond🤷♂️.
@@grahamedwards9920 , indeed I'm in the US right now. I think with the changing regs in the UK and Europe it will be an adapt product or lose out. Fall 2020 I could buy Win Fe6 for ~12GBP/25. In the meantime, couldn't distributors and/or other entities there import some of the plentiful non-lead 410 offering we have over here? Kent straddles the pond for production, so maybe they will do something. In the meantime, if you can reload Cheddite or Fiocchi hulls and BPI TPS-410 non-tox rated wads from the US work just fine. $22USD/200.
@@NWer-c5u you obviously know your stuff but over here everything moves very slowly and the direction in which things are going is uncertain. The axe may fall quickly on all firearm ammunition including air rifle pellets🤷♂️ but that is the worse scenario and it may be that any ban may be subject to exemptions or a long phasing out stage or both. It maybe just how badly we want to shoot the small gauges and the cost in terms of time and money.🤷♂️
I bought one for exactly this reason., they’re a great little fun gun, that I can’t hit squat with, but the smiles are worth it. Now thinking I need to learn to reload to keep it fed as the ammo cost for it is a little on the expensive side. In fact a video on reloading wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Do you have any domestic producers? Luckily in the UK we have a number of local manufacturers that cater for us, that's only shotgun cartridges and .22 rimfire though, all other rifle ammo is imported.
How do you find it shooting? A little high due to the shorter stock? I have a hushpower mossberg 500 and cannot find where the pattern goes due to the tiny child sized stock! I think I'm miles high on it!
Hi from Canada, I work in a Large sporting goods Store, Nice little 410 shotgun. But here in Canada there's No Ammo for the 410 Sporting loads or Hunting loads. I have family all across the country and they all say the the same. No 410 Shotshells. so not much of a market for any 410s right now. So sad though grew up shooting one.☹
@@tgsoutdoors NO and our Liberal Government isn't friendly to any kind of sporting sports, so I don't see any ammo company ever setting up shop here in this Country. ☹
I just bought a used 410 SPZ ME , need to find extra chokes , any advise. Called Yildiz and they refered me to Briley who only has chokes for 12 and 20.
When I was about 12 yo, a couple of older boys had a .410 that they demonstrated to me; chopping down saplings. Of course, there was no licence involved 😬🤦♂️😉🙄.
I’ve got a couple but not in .410…yet. The reason I like them is because I can throw them in my truck or UTV and not worry about scratching them and get in a quick dove or quail hunt during work (I’m in the US). For what they are they are amazing and they let me shoot without having to be overly concerned about them. If I was shooting a $5000 gun I’m not sure I could bring myself to get it out of the safe😂. Love your channel keep up the good work.
Used a friends on pigeons with a heavy crop in them of bean no more than 25yrds found them a bit inhumane to many follow up shots( be a better shot you might but everyone can pull one who ever you are!) Where as a 12 not a big problem if u pull it, might as well taken the stock off and blow peas through it that day is how i felt about it, low close partridge maybe but i wouldn't otherwise squirrels gun

Could you please make a Video about the „British hunting clothes“? It would be very interesting. By the way I am from Austria and watch your Videos for a few weeks, they are very good and interesting. All the best
I shoot krieghoff and guerini's and for the money the yildiz is my all time favorite. Cheap enough to not feel bad about hacking away at the stock getting the right fit and still cheaper than a fitted stock. I have a 28ga for bird hunting and beat the living hell out of it every season.
Great marketing straggly here in the states. One company only to buy from and they don’t ship to other gun shops. In other states. They want me to travel 700 miles to buy a 500 $ gun, then drive 700 miles home. So much for owning a Yildiz shotgun.
Fun for some casual clays, kicking bunnys out of the bush/hedges , mooching for a feed on a nice armed ramble with the dog(s) shooting over ferrets , sorting out squizzers rats etc whats not to like
No doubt any .410 is sexier than their larger bore counterparts but I sold mine long ago. If I am serious about bringing home a full game bag I would take a 20 gauge any day.
If you can't use lead its no use to have one. With steel you can't hunt and bismuth, tungsten are to expensive. And this is also the problem with the 32, 28 and the 24 bore.
Why not? Plenty shoot steel from 410s elsewhere, Winchester Fe6 @1400fps. Look for hagerman wings farm .410 hunt to see what that load does on mallards with a 1/2 choke 25 yards and in. No problem. Federal also makes a Fe6/1400fps load.
@@NWer-c5u i'm from belgium and here we can't by steel, bismuth and tungsten for the 410 and the 28 bore. The 410 steel is to small load for hunting. Its not killing the birds like lead so you hit and loose a lot of them with the 410, 32, 28 and the 24.

@@robinloos1441, understood and the same situation currently in the UK. But with demand due to regulation changes, they will have to or lose out on sales. Oh and let’s have a review on the Fausti DEA side by side 410 if you get a chance please. Thanks!
Value for money is what you gotta consider. Never been a fan of .410... Many believe, as I do, 28ga best choice for small gauge shotgun use.
I would be inclined to agree, but a 410 is still a lot of fun
@@tgsoutdoors all depends on what you are looking for.
All my duck and goose hunting is done with a 410 and TSS. Fun guns , please do more 410 videos !!!!
How many ducks are you injuring with that 410
@@efaciler2462as a person that owns and did the bulk of his hunting with a 410 due to my experience level I taken a considerable amount of rabbit between 35-45 yards with it and the worse that’s happened was having a rabbit trying to drag itself on its front legs because his rear were completely out of service which could happen with any bore using 6 shot at that range on a rabbit in stride.
Great video as always..... Another option would be Brileys 410 tubes. I'm not a fan of Yildez
I know . They are so cool. I need glasses now too. Lol. From Texas
@@bristleconepinus2378, 12 bore can ruin a cat? That’s incredible!
tell that to carlo rizzini and the 410 club. he has no problem killing pheasents , qual and grouse with his 410. he also shoots box birds or live pigeon whith a 410

Have you tried reloading steel 410?
I bet those TSS are wicked
@@tgsoutdoors not tried steel loads yet, might do at some stage.
I have two in 410 and they work perfectly if I do my job.
😁👍🏻 just happen to be reloading 3” .410 when the video came out
I'm not a current shotgun user , but I have been in the past , my first shotgun was a Belgian side lever hammer gun , 2.5 inch , 410 , with heavily pitted barrels and no remaining bluing , unlike you I've never owned a premium gun, but that little 410 would drop walked up pheasant, up to 30 yards or so ..., pigeon out to 40 yards , and even close range corvids ....I'd have given my full set of Teath to own that yilditz, I've owned a knackered out cogswell and harrison , side lock with 30 inch barrels in 12 bore ( my favourite gun ever) got a ring bulge in the full choke barrel,
and i scrapped it ....would love u to do a comparison say between a lanber o/u and the equivalent yildintz ....I've owned 2 lanbers, one 80's and a late 90's as new one , but 410 is a potent calibre, and should be in everyone's cabinet .
The difficulty of going from a 12 to a 410 is the distraction of knowing how much more the cartridges cost 🤣🤣🤣
Yes it's a shame the costs of 410 cartridges , I'd love to use mine more often.
If you can even find 410 in the US these days. I haven’t seen 410 in a while.
Jonny,
As most .410’s are now being made with steel proofed “fleur de lis” barrels, when are we going to see Hull Cartridge etc, coming out with Steel .410 cartridges? And I mean effective good quality ones at that!!
Or are we just going to waste money buying a gun that we can’t shoot when the UK 🇬🇧 lead shot ban takes effect? Thanks D.
.410 is going to be low on their priority list for sure, given the cost of developing new bio wads per calibre.
They will come, just going to take time
I am not a gun snob , but i love it , just looks so much fun
Love a play with a .410 .
I was looking for one but ended up with a 20bore from Holt's , maybe next time .
Just bought one as new for £399 - great fun with 19gm magnums !\
.410 shells are difficult to find in the States currently
Came to say the same thing, no one has any .410 shells rights now.
Shells are available, just not cheap.
Plenty available in the off season. Buying ahead is key. Bought a case of Win #6 steel Nov '21. Midway had it last Aug/Sept too.
Just got that gun a month ago! Glad you reviewed it. What chokes are you using for those longer shots? Great content like always❤
Seemed to break well in IC or Full
Always wanted to scratch that 410 itch. If you learn to shoot a 410 well will it make me better with a 12. If so I'm defo in.
If you’re going to fall in love with shooting a .410 (I love my Superposed .410 skeet), you’d better also fall in love with reloading (I love my PW 850+). BTW, an aluminum O/U is a POS no matter what name you put on it; only for the occasional shooter.
I love the 410 but how long have we got before the lead ban makes them obsolete?
My concern also…
Why obsolete?

Omg...was looking at .410s for a bit of nostalgic fun earlier today
I’m thinking you were after something a little classier than this?
@@tgsoutdoors I was looking at a 2nd hand Dickson :)
Try finding shells in Canada these days. 410 is a beautiful gauge but it’s a pain to buy the shells
Do you have any domestic producers? Luckily in the UK we have a number of local manufacturers that cater for us, that's only shotgun cartridges and .22 rimfire though, all other rifle ammo is imported.
Same in the US these days. 410 is just impossible to find. If you do find some the cost is insane.
How do you find it shooting? A little high due to the shorter stock? I have a hushpower mossberg 500 and cannot find where the pattern goes due to the tiny child sized stock! I think I'm miles high on it!
Aluminium & Steel the designer never owned a S3 Landy! 😳
That is a shame. Is there any Canadian shotgun ammo manufacturers?
@@tgsoutdoors NO and our Liberal Government isn't friendly to any kind of sporting sports, so I don't see any ammo company ever setting up shop here in this Country. ☹
I just bought a used 410 SPZ ME , need to find extra chokes , any advise. Called Yildiz and they refered me to Briley who only has chokes for 12 and 20.
Hello Dan, how are you? Great review of a very good Turkish shotgun. By the way, what is the brand of your sunglass?
Great review, how about doing a sxs 410 review? Is there even one worth buying ?

I’ve got a couple but not in .410…yet. The reason I like them is because I can throw them in my truck or UTV and not worry about scratching them and get in a quick dove or quail hunt during work (I’m in the US). For what they are they are amazing and they let me shoot without having to be overly concerned about them. If I was shooting a $5000 gun I’m not sure I could bring myself to get it out of the safe😂. Love your channel keep up the good work.
Used a friends on pigeons with a heavy crop in them of bean no more than 25yrds found them a bit inhumane to many follow up shots( be a better shot you might but everyone can pull one who ever you are!) Great marketing straggly here in the states. One company only to buy from and they don’t ship to other gun shops. In other states. They want me to travel 700 miles to buy a 500 $ gun, then drive 700 miles home. So much for owning a Yildiz shotgun.

@@robinloos1441, understood and the same situation currently in the UK. But with demand due to regulation changes, they will have to or lose out on sales.
