    This is a most informative tutorial on the C & M Overedge feet.
    The M came with my machine & I purchased the C later.
    I was thinking about purchasing a serger solely for what these two feet can accomplish on my Janome sewing machine!
    Thank you!

    The issue with using the C foot for either single or double overedge seams is that you don't get a true 5/8" seam allowance. My suggestion is to sew using your 5/8" seam allowance first, trim the seam then use the overedge foot.

    Thanks a ton. I had a mechanical machine that when I did the Zig zag with the normal foot, the edge would grabbed and turned over and stitched if I sewed too close to the edge, I didn’t know why. You answered this. I now have a Janome computerized, with has the c and m foot, I can’t wait to try those with over edge and overcast.

      Thank you. This video was made 5 years ago in our Janome studio with our Educator Erin. We do use different machines in various videos, but more videos by Erin can be found at ua-cam.com/play/PLkFx1RN-5WIGcdJWWIFT-ZOQmBTVndpyK.html.

    How do you actually start these stitches, as i found they puckered up you start right at the edge of the fabric but if i leave it a few mm down the fabric the seam is open i am using french terry fabric with c foot

    Great tutorial, super clear! One of the stitches on my machine (it's an xl601) looks like a zig zag with a straight stitch down both sides, not just the one. Is this a good option for overlocking edges?

    • @JanomeJAI
      @JanomeJAI  Рік тому +1

      That stitch will work, but you will get better results if you can use the zig zag stitch with 1 straight stitch side. The open zig zag side goes over the edge of the seam. Happy Sewing!

    Hi I have a really old basic Janome MS2024, which would be the best stitch to use?

    It would have been nice to be shown where to place fabric - against the edge, or what?

    The fabric sewn with the foot with the brushes must be pushed back to release from the foot.

    Video of fabric close up is not good. Could not tell much

    A close up of the edges would have been useful. Just couldn’t see the detail sufficiently.

      Jo, thank you for your comment. As this video was made in 2019 we will not be editing it, but will absolutely pass on this information to our Marketing Department. If you have additional serger questions, we recommend contacting your local authorized Janome dealer who can help you with an in-person demonstration. Thanks again and happy sewing!
