Paul Hubbard from aBlogtoWatch reviews the Citizen Blue Angels World Chronograph A-T AT8020 watch.
The Citizen Eco-Drive Blue Angels World Chronograph A-T is a radio-controlled perpetual calendar chronograph world timer with stainless steel / ion plated bezel features, intricate dials and non-reflective sapphire crystal.
During the last seventy-five years Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as the global brand. The use of the Blue Angels name and logo is with the permission, but not endorsement, of the U.S. Navy.

Best explanation of bezel use. log of a+b is antilog of a*b. Helped me decide on buying the watch :)
My citizen has been my favorite watch the last few years...super accurate.
Great review! Shows off the important features without being long-winded. It convinced me to pull the trigger. Thanks!
I bought the AT 8025-51E black for my boyfriend, which is exactly the same as this,
it´s a beautiful elegant black watch because has the stainless steel bracelet which matches better with this type of case; I liked it so much I had second thoughts giving him the watch ;)
My cheapest watch and the only Quartz I own but it’s just a great watch with tons of features and for me it looks amazing. I love it.
A perfect holiday/travel watch with the world time function, 200m WR and lack of attention needed.
This was my first watch and I wore it hard for six years day in and day out. It doesn't get worn like it used to, but it's what I use to set every other watch in my collection. As stated by others, the accuracy is great (and you can verify that it got the signal the night before). I completely agree with your assessment of a great set it and forget it watch with some "flair".
Been looking around for a blue color theme watch, and this watch provides the looks and the features.
This is awesome get it here amzn.to/1CS5AWY I like everything about this watch -- the size, the style, the comfort, and the functions. I think it definitely falls into the realm of sport watch because of the blue dial and bezel, and blue leather strap, with yellow highlights everywhere.
I bought mine on the Freedom of the Seas Royal Carribean Cruise for $325 and have really liked it. I was gifted an I watch and wear both. It is a great watch.
Excellent review! I just went full-screen to get a closer look.
very straight forward review, good job!
Great review. It just would be nicer if you could bring the watch closer to the camera. Your video is only 720p so it was really hard to see the fine details of the dial.
Great review, you are the first to mention how accurate the second hand is, which is one of my main concerns. I will not buy a watch if the hands do not hit the markers accurately, citizen is on the mark...I have ordered the limited edition 9010 28 with croc strap, cant wait till it comes in
I totally agree with you. It's annoying when the hand does not land right in the center of the markers! Amazon has this on sale right now...so tempting.
And if they ever start to miss the mark, you can recalibrate all the hands on the watch.
Great review and great watch. Mine has a stainless steel wrist band which i really like
Nice watch. Gonna order me one online tonight.
Best review of this watch sir
Has anyone ever told you that you have a good ASMR voice. Just a thought, good video, thanks.
Hello, great review. Was wondering if you can buy a stainless steel wristband for it from citizen or any jewelers?
I kind of like the way it looks on both configurations but don't really feel like buying two of the same just because they have different wristbands.
I just moved and in the move found my watch that had been missing for 6 months lol in a dark closet and now my watch has the wrong time and date and cannot figure out how to set it correctly.. I'm debating on sending it back to citizens to get fixed but if you have a video on how to set the blue angels watch I would really appreciate it
Nice watch. Thanks for upload
Nice. Did it also come with the stainless steel band? thanks
Please show me how to set the time and date of this watch when I am in a place where I can't get radio waves. Thank you very much
Hi... Will this automatically set time in India? I need to make this sure before buying.
H800 has Perfex Multi 3000 suite of features, including Automatic Hand Correction, which keep the hand "on the mark."
I bought mine years ago. Could never get the atomic radio signal from Colorado to the Philadelphia suburbs. Until now. One good thing to come out of this terrible pandemic.
Pefect!!! been trying to figure out why my time was 45 min off....this reset vid was perfect for me....as far as complaints about the vid being to far from watch....get glasses
Awesome video great info very nice watch
So it's true! Leonard Nimoy is alive!
I'm buying a never worn factory refurbished one . What is your opinion ( 1/3 + retail) a little nervous
You need to show lume shots in your reviews.
I can't set the time. Would be possible the middle button stop working?!!! It's a brand new watch.!!
great video. I got one!
Great wristwatch. What a shame you have it so far away from the camera and blurred!
Love mine, but unfortunately it can't pick up the time signal where I live. I have six Casio G-Shock watches that have no problem picking up the signal every night. Very disappointing.
U should redo this video with the watch at a closer distance to the camera
Is it possible to set the 24hr time subdial to a different time zone than the main hands?
Before ordering the watch ($357 on sale today June 16, 2016) w/free two day air delivery from Princeton Watch, an authorized dealer!) I downloaded and read the manual. See page 51. The 24 hour register moves in conjunction with the hour and minute hands. It is just a way to verify if the main dial is showing AM or PM. Is it 1:00 hours or 13:00 hours, for example. It is not a second time zone. Here's the manual. www.citizenwatch-global.com/support/pdf/h800/e.pdf
No, and that's a shame. It would be nice to have a UTC or other zone ability.
I ordered it on amazon for $300 USD
what about daylight savings, does it update via radio automatically?
Yes. It's a bit complicated to setup at first, but the manual is really helpful. Once it's set, you're good. The right side of the 12 sub-dial shows the indicators that are used when you set it (I forget how to do it or what the middle one stands for, but it's a true set and forget watch).
Paul did you notice anything out of the ordinary with the markers on your watch's face between the slits were the Luminescent sits on my AT8020 it looks as if they they were either not cut smooth or they put Luminescent were they should not have I love the watch but I'm picky how it look and when you pay as much as we customers do I want it flawless..
One thing on this watch and I'm picky about as well is the Second hand strikes 12 center point most of the time it sometimes hits slightly left but I think that is do in part of the mechanism.. but with the issue that i see with the markers and there's a little scratch on the bezel were I can see a snip of blue missing.. I think I will return the watch and have the store order me a new one..
Thanks for the Great Video.. And I'm going to get one of those leather bands like yours I found out they cost $50.00 $11.00 dollars for UPS ground..
I just bought the same watch. It has a similar issue with the lume on the markers. With a couple of the markers on my watch, the lume doesn't fill the entire width of the "channel" for the full length of the marker, so a very thin width of the shiny bottom of the channel shows through when in certain light. At night, these markers lack a straight edge to the lume.
If you check Paul Hubbard's lume shot in the review he did at ABlogToWatch, you can see that some of the lumed areas on his sample are ragged as well. I've seen several images of this watch on the web that have this same rough edge to the lume on some of the markers. It seems that it's typical of this model. I love the watch, but Citizen could have done a better job with the finishing of the markers. On the plus side, the mechanical quality and functionality of the watch is great, and the atomic time sync on mine works very well.
BTW, all six hands and the date window have excellent alignment on my sample. Mine has a couple of very slight scratches on the case, but the IP blue bezel is perfect.
+Gary K is the blue bezel still perfect ?? (I want to buy this watch but I'm hesitating like it's a house I'm about to buy ^^' )
thanks.
+Patrick The blue bezel on mine is still perfect, but I haven't banged it into anything. I've seen some used ones for sale on eBay with scratches on the blue bezel, and the silver color underneath shows through.
Does anyone know the size of the band? Im trying to upgrade the stock blue leather band to a better one.
Zubin Pattnaik If you haven't found it yet I believe it is 23mm.
Any luck finding a replacement band? I would like to find either a blue rubber with deployment clasp or, a blue leather with deployment clasp for this watch
Does the black bezel chip off over time? I need an answer before I buy. Thanks.
I've had mine for 9 months. No problems with the bezel, but I'm careful with my watches. I stopped hitting things with them a few decades ago. Buy one, you will not regret it. I collected mechanical chronographs for years. Keeping them maintained became more and more of a problem. I had bad luck with Omega and Rolex factory service in the USA. I sold them all and bought the Blue Angeles.
No regrets. I love the Citizen. I just watched the review again. I think the reviewer forgot to mention this watch picks up the shortwave time signal from various atomic clocks around the world. You never have to set it and you never have to open it to replace a battery. I will never buy another mid grade or higher mechanical chronograph again (for reference, I consider Omega mid grade).
By the way, it looks much better in person than on any video or the Citizen website. The markers, hands, subdails are much more three dimensional with the trim around the subs looking like stainless bezels of aircraft instruments.
In the USA, it comes with a 5 year warranty and you get an extra year if you register online. I also love the fact that the big center seconds hand actually keeps time. On other chronos, it only works in stopwatch mode. On the Blue Angeles, it always rotates but centers at 12:00 when you engage stopwatch mode. I like this so much better.
Thanks Larry. I also love Citizen since they had eco drive. I think I really have to be careful hitting things or putting a watch in my pocket with keys and coins. Your review really helps.
nice review... but a watch review should always include showing watch after wearing it..
The watch is so far away in this video u can't really see the details
how to charge it
It's Eco-Drive which charges under solar or artificial light automatically.
DEBISTE ACERCAR LA CÁMARA PARA TENER UNA BUENA VISTA DEL RELOJ, ASÍ NO SE DISTINGUE NADA.
CLOSE UP !!!!!!
any 1 know is this watch water proof?
+3 Dengz Sure it is
***** ebay is much cheaper ..
+Said A in fact I just got this watch from ebay by 240 dollar lel
200m Water resistant
Thats a sexy watch
The quality control of Citizen is not perfect. That second hand doesn’t always hit the markers. Yours is rare. I just bought the same model and I can’t get a signal and I live near Boulder, which is less than an hour from the atomic clock. Kind of pissed with this purchase.
I bought it because is really good looking... but on my wrist I do not like it very much... the dial is too loud, the blue color indoors is too dark and all the staff on it make difficult to read time on a glance, the big chronograph buttons been pressed accidentally very often if is on the left wrist, the AT timekeeping not always function and in southern hemisphere I think is not function at all and is somehow uncomfortable wearing it.
i got it for 328 off amazon suckaaa
Got it for 302 with the nicer metal braclet and could have gotten the leather version for 280 at amazon too with a discount code, suckaa.
Got it for 220 off amazon suckaa ;)

Чувак на приколі ,даремно потратив час.
The small 24 hour dial would be very useful if it could be set for different time zone ie. UTC. Then it would truly be a world watch. Why have the complication just for a useless alarm only a fruit bat can hear.
Why are you whispering? Afraid your wife will hear you? Maybe you think whispering is cool.
you are a moron
Write louder, no one can hear you.
He even hides under a blanket. LOL
it is hard to understand what you want to say, and really like you have ate candy in your mouth when you speak.
