Fujifilm X-T3 | Hands-On Review at Goodwood Revival
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 лют 2025
- Fujifilm invite Amy to test the brand new Fujifilm X-T3 at Goodwood Revival, a celebration of vintage motor racing and period dress. Watch as Amy puts the X-T3’s new 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor through its paces, capturing everything from period motorbikes to portraits and planes.
The camera was used to capture some F-Log footage during the day, which has been graded by our Pro Video technical editor Kriss Hampton. Amy was even lucky enough to try out Fujifilm's brand new XF 200mm f/2 lens, one of only two copies in the UK right now.

Great review Amy, best one i've seen in ages. Well done.
What a refreshing change to see a knowledgeable female reviewer. I use Fuji X series cameras because they are smaller and lighter so this review where larger, heavier kit is involved is nor relevant to my own picture taking but I am certainly sold on the XT3. I just need some money!!
Excellent work! Loved the review and am excited for my X-T3 to arrive. Can’t wait to see more from you all.
Thanks Nathan, I hope you enjoy the X-T3! AM
Enjoyed the review and theme of the event! Definitely loved the shots of the people especially the gentleman with the bowtie @ 5:06.
Watched this earlier and my XT3 arrives next week. The Black Friday deal clinched it.
Easily one of the best X-T3 videos out there. Well done.
Fantastic video Amy - really enthusing and could be my next used camera - from Wex of course! Thank you.
That was the best camera review I’ve seen for ages - well done Wex
what software do you recommend to edit the xt3 video files? slow as molasses in adobe premiere until they release an update.
This was all shot on jpeg? Did you shoot any Fujifilm RAF files? I ask because I’m curious to see a future video with a comparison of jpeg and raw for a dynamic range test.
I particularly enjoyed the crowd shots taken with the 50-140. You have a great eye for interesting faces and moments. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Aiden, we appreciate the feedback - AM
Can’t wait to obtain the 200mm in a month! Looks amazing. Something I’ve been waiting a long time from Fuji
Hi David, it really is an absolutely awesome lens. Have fun with it! AM
Brilliant review - great to see such enthusiasm without the hard sell. To see the results from the longer telephotos - impressive - time to chuck the Canon's and upgrade the XT-1 methinks!
Very nice review! I can tell you really had a great time with the camera. cheers from Costa Rica!
SO WELL DONE!!
Very good! what camera did you use for the review?
Excellent review. Just what I needed to help with my decision to switch from my EOS 80D.
Gordon Clifton I have an 80d and I want to upgrade to the xt3! How do you like the xt3?
What camera and lens is being used for the video?
Great review, thanks!
At 5:08, were you taking a friendly shot at Gordon Laing? Hard to read where you were going with that. Great camera. Great video. Thanks.
I really enjoyed your review and I love to see someone with enthusiasm! To my eyes your photographs looked fabulous! Great colors but certainly not overdone...I think sometimes I "overcook" my own. For me, I think I could get great jpegs straight of of camera with the XT1 but the XT2 has always required a little more fiddling and I often revert to raw. Were these processed raw photos or were they jpeg? If jpeg, what film simulation and settings did you use? Again, I really enjoyed your review and I appreciate your time! By the way, I think the hat was a great addition!
Hi Ralph - Thanks for your kind feedback. These images are out of camera Jpegs as I didn't want to process the RAWS until editing for Lightroom was available. AM
Great review, like to see use of lenses which I have, lots of reviews I’ve have used only Fuji new 200m lens which is great but frankly out of my budget. I have the XT2 and now more likely to invest in the XT3 , fast focus is a big benefit
Really enjoyed your review, well done!
Great informative video thanks
Outstanding review. Well done!!
If one was thinking about getting into Fuji, would it be better to pick up the XT-2 or spend the big bucks and get the XT-3? The difference currently is $400. I think the improvements might be worth it.
I think the phase detection auto focus improvements alone would make the X-T3 my preference.
@5:46 switches from Standard to Velvia film sim.
A fine video and review of this interesting new camera at a great venue. As mentioned below, you are a great reviewer Amy, you've probably sold the X-T3 to many viewers with this.
Thanks Paul, we appreciate the feedback. AM
I loved this review!!! Great work! Thanks!!
Thanks Isma, that's good to hear! - AM
fuji fan boysa are insane
Such a crazy girl :) She entertains me really well. I shoot with Canon 5 and 1, but for a few years, that is not convincing. Fuji rocks. Only a tiny flaw has struck me: the videos with the X-T3 are very shaky.
Great Job! - Thanks!
Great review Amy, great camera work and interesting dialogue
Thanks CJB JCB. AM
Nice review Amy, keep up the good work.
Thanks Barry! AM
Hi. Thanks for your production model review with the 16-55 f2.8 & the 50-140 f2.8 lenses. I am taking delivery of an XT3 and these 2 lenses from WEX tomorrow. I am super excited. I note from the video clips you were hand-holding hence the clips were a bit 'jerky'. This is I think one of the few, not necessarily bad points about this camera and the 16-55mm. Neither have inbuilt stabilization and that will make it harder to hand hold for steady smooth video and will require you to use it with a tripod, monopod or gimbal. I think this point should be carefully considered. It has though clearly not stopped me from purchasing.
Hi Brian,
It was a fantastic setup, but I agree, it is certainly a point that needs considering when deciding if the camera is right for your individual purposes. I hope you enjoy your delivery! AM
Fenomenal review!
you tested how the RAW works with LR or capture1 or similar????
Hi Blackmind, I haven't had a chance yet but I am sure we will be giving it a go soon. AM
Well presented and informative. 👌
Very good review. A small part of the descriptive talk was blocked out by the music, but otherwise very informative.
Hi Chris,
Yes we had a slight issue with the export that we didn't hear until upload, sorry about that! Thanks for watching - AM
Hi Amy my daughter Natasha works at WEX Norwich, I use an XT1 & XT2 and shoot lots of Husky racing can we discuss a shoot to try the 200 F2 and the XT3 ? Husky racing season starts in November. Regards.
Hi Chris - Sorry for the delay in replying. That sounds amazing. I am sure Natasha can give you my email address, feel free to get in touch and we can have a chat about it. Speak soon - AM
She is very good and great images dude!
Thanks for watching Emmet - AM
if there is good lighting, even if you bump iso extremely, you wont see a big degradation in image. You really need to test it in a really dark place.
Hi Joseph, it was the best we had on the day unfortunately, but I definitely want to test it again when we have some real low-light conditions to see just how well the camera can perform! Thanks for watching - AM
She knows the Fujifilm gear.
Thanks for watching Fresno1199 - I have owned quite a bit of it over the past few years! AM
How did you find the buffer when you were taking your "action" shots of the cars passing by? I can't find many reviewers commenting on this but it is something that concerns me as on paper it seems really small.
Hi Jami - I was using a nice fast card and I didn't have any issues at all. It is something I could certainly test further by putting more pressure on the camera, but I didn't have any issues for what I needed on the day. AM
I want this camera.
Good job !
Great review...well done. She's great
Great review. What camera/lens did you use for this video? It looks better than the scenes where you used the X-T3.
Hi Chris - We used the Panasonic G9 with the 12-60mm. AM
Wow. I expected something much more expensive like a RED camera or similar. That's interesting ;)
Very noticable how all the gear-heads and journalists love the 16-55mm whereas all the experienced photographers, such as Mike Brown, hate it for being too sharp, too expensive, big and heavy, any optical superiority over the little kit 18-55 lens is barely noticable in real-world scenarios.
Hi Saurat - I owned the 16-55mm with an X-T1 for a couple of years before I started doing any reviews and I still thought it excelled in performance. Having a nice fast aperture was a winner when I shot weddings and the slightly wider focal length, was perfect for shooting storms, along with the XF 14mm prime which I also loved. For me the difference was definitely noticeable but if others are happy with the 18-55mm then that's brilliant and certainly saves some money as well! Thanks for watching. AM
Great review, interesting content
16-55 is the Fuji lens I use the most.
I adore the XF 16-55mm Low LowRedPhoto, it is a very handy lens that you can leave on your camera all day and get 'prime-like' results. Thanks for watching - AM
She is wonderful and crazily cute.
whats the songs name used in this video? can anyone tell me please
What is the title of the music playing. Loved it. Nice review too!!!!
Hi John - I will find all the titles and post in the description in the next few days. Thanks for watching. AM
She does a decent job reviewing but she really needs to stop holding it by the camera only when using the 200mm F2 is on that thing. I know it's not as heavy a lens as a full frame equivalent but it weighs more than a puppy for sure and it puts a load of stress on the lens mount. Fuji has put a tripod mount on the lens for a reason.
It's there for centre of balance on a tripod... not to protect the lens mount. The mount is plenty strong enough.
Great review
How's the Auto WB and Metering? Which was horrible on the X-T2 IMO. Always a constant battle with getting good WB out the camera.
Hi Dante
I found both of them very usable. I generally use manual and shoot RAW but I was really pleasantly surprised. The colours seemed accurate and the metering was never far off. If you were unimpressed by the X-T2 then there is definitely improvement. It may be worth popping into one of our stores to have a go yourself and see if the X-T3 performs how you would hope. Thanks for watching - AM
Great review, very informative and detailed. I especially love discussing specs as part of taking photos and video. Much better than a endless litany of specs with a few photos shared at the end of a review. Agree that the hat is a distraction though. Go for a beret next time.
Hi Jeff - Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed the review. AM
Nice One
Great review , well done miss . gman.
Thanks gman! AM
gigantic! My DSLR is smaller!
Did not hear a negative word, ergo the perfect camera, could it be that finally the Chinese did it, no black out no nothing, rolf.
Hi rotvonrat - The X-T3 certainly was fantastic to use on the day. I'm sure it will be the perfect camera for a lot of people out there. AM
Very nice! I'd buy one if I could maybe in 3 years.
I'm sure they will still be great cameras in 3 years time Dr23rippa - but it maybe worth considering the X-T2 which is still a brilliant camera if the X-T3 isn't suitable right now. If you need any help just let us know - AM
Babe you did an excellent review.
Would have been interesting to see the xt3 with the 100-400, also the lack of IBS showed on video although that's not a deal breaker for me.
Hi Tony. Unfortunately I didn't have that opportunity on the day but would certainly love to give it a try! I purposely hand-held the camera whilst videoing to show off the lack of IBIS but you can certainly use a gimbal to smooth things out. Thanks for watching - AM
I'd rather go for X-H1. Can't notice a significant improvement over X-T2.
How many lockups?
Hi there,
We had absolutely no issues on the day at all, in fact, no one in our whole group did! However, if anyone does have any problems, Fujifilm have just released a firmware update to combat the possibility of this issue. Hope this helps - AM
That really is great to hear, Fuji need to regain some confidence with its customers, next time I'm in WEX I will have a play
Hahah
None, fixed with 1st firnware update №1 a while back 9 and №2 update that just happened a non issue for Fuji .
Are you allowed to have that much fun at work? :-P
Hi flickrmark - you would think not, but there you go! AM
I have to say i like the girl.
Love the outfit
It seems there is absolutely no con about this Camera ...sponsored reviews are shit.
Con's are subjective...as are pro's.
why is it your the only person to use a 4 letter word in all the reviews, keep to good English there are plenty of other words in our language
Hi Okwy - Depending on your needs there may be no cons, or there might be. We just try to show you what you CAN do with a camera rather than all the things it can't, because that would be a really long review! AM
Salam kenal indo
next time leave that hat at home
she maybe didn't want to go the same colour you do without a hat Ken...btw...getting my X-T3 tomorrow...so looking forward to your upcoming reviews
Theoria Apophasis I don’t know. Might look good on you!
The only nice (Chinese) thing in this viedo ... ops forgot the camera.
Theoria Apophasis
For the Goodwood Revival, you are supposed to go in period costume, all part of the vibe.
I was a few miles north that day, had to change my route to avoid all the jams!
Loose the hat dear, it just gets in your way.
Lose
how a hat can ruin a camera review...
Should have gone full frame, XT3 is dead already.
No, do called "full frame" 35mm is dead, dead weight using old tech dslr flappy mirror, heavy old tech museum piece
Awesome review and presenter! Did this video shoot with the X-T3 as well?
Hi there - Thanks for the feedback. The only parts shot on the X-T3 are the graded footage that can be seen within the video. AM
